If your wondering why this was on Sumerian Records TH-cam channel when INK or Reel Big Fish aren’t apart of Sumerian, it because that it’s apart of a soundtrack for a American Psycho comic book series that Sumerian’s comic book division is producing Overall my opinion on this song is that it’s such a fun cover and I can see that INK and Reel Big Fish are having fun with it. Love your reaction and have a great day my dude
I find this so funny because Spencer started Ice Nine (no kills) as a Boston ska band when he first started Edit: just as I hit send he mentioned ice nine kills as a ska band *facepalm*
Being born in the 80’s myself … when I heard this I felt like it was my 18 year old punk rock princess soul met my 39 year old angry head banging adult soul and had their own 80’s baby.
One thing I think is interesting is Reel Big Fish has been on hiatus since the pandemic so they haven't released any music or played shows in several years now and this is what they come back with. RBF are known for their covers though and I'm sure the prospect of a collab with reasonably high profile band probably helped. I hope this is the start of more from them again because they are such a fun live band.
The correct answer is somewhere along the lines of: A genre that started in Jamaica in the 1950s, with a very upbeat sound. Focused primarily on rhythms that were on the off-beat, with rhythm guitar that usually followed suit, only playing their strokes on the off-beat with either no downstrokes or muted downstrokes. Eventually this traveled to the UK in the "2nd wave" around the 1970s, where it started to combine with punk rock. Then it came over to the USA in a 3rd wave around the 1980s and 1990s, still heavily mixed with punk rock. In short, categorized mostly by the playing of a guitar (or another lead instrument) on the off-beat instead of the down-beat, and usually features a walking bass line and a brass section (horns, trombones, sax, etc...). Online you'll see a lot of people just say "punk with horns" which isn't accurate, as it started without any punk roots and the off-beat playing is what makes ska what it is, as well as the fact that you don't necessarily need any brass for ska to be ska either. It may sound a bit annoying to get that in-depth or picky about what makes ska what it is, but I've seen a lot of things listed as "ska covers" online for certain songs, and it just ends up being very fast punk rock with some brass instruments tossed in. In those cases, usually doesn't end up scratching that ska itch. Punk with brass is a really fun thing on its own regardless, but just isn't ska with that alone.
Well I guess no one can answer me on why it’s always killing scenes an the songs that Spencer Charnas always do why is it always killing an can’t do a clean song mmmm
Why is Spencer always about killing why does he always do that? Why can’t he just do a clean song without killing Man this is one reason why I don’t like them I love his vocals. He’s an amazing singer But why is it always killing scrips with him or scenes in his songs an music l mean I get it it’s just for fun. But why always killing scenes
What the heck are u talking. It's a role. Why is Anthony Hopkins always killing when he plays Hannibal Lecter. Like it's a role and the concept of their music/albums. And Spencer just like to act as a villain. In real he's like the most chill and humble guy out there
I think we may have witnessed the birth of Ska-core
already are skacore and this is ska metalcore
@@ismaelfreytes1106 more like ska hardcore
INK use be a ska-meta/rock band back in the 2000s
check out The Best of the Worst for more ska-core. Joe is a legend and a beast
Skettle lol
They’re going back to their ska roots I see
Ice Nine before the Kills. Good times

Ska metal should definitely be a thing!!!
My thoughts are looking out for that ink rbf tour 🤣

Love it but still feel like Hip to be Scared is the ultimate American Psycho song from INK

I love everything INK seems to be putting out. Excited for the new album!
They're releasing a new album?
@@kawaharaizumi731 nothing announced yet, but they did a lot of tour for the last album, probably writing new stuff right now!
Pretty cool I like when bands do it in their way their version nice little ska banger 😊
Walking on sunshine woahh ❤❤❤❤
Love your videos! They just replaced the audio with the correct stereo mix, sounds so much better now
The original was always kind of a guilty pleasure for me, I love Reel Big Fish, I love Ice Nine Kills... I love this cover.🤘
I needed this song today!
Like that!
Patrick Bateman would be very proud… now he’s gotta return some videotapes..
Holaaaaaaa buenoooss dias, ohhh español🤘
Musicianship is fun...but it's a pass for me. Makes sense as a comic book soundtrack song though
That iced my nine
I agree with nitpicky birb
Man, I remember when INK made ska… 😅
It's a good night
Jonny hawkins from Nothing more followed me on IG.

Upbeat punk music w/ horns.

Every time I hear an upbeat horn section I get a migraine 😂😂
Just can’t care much for this cover honestly. I’d rather hear new music and not a cover, also an album. I love INK but this ain’t it.
Nobody cares
idk how no one is talking how the guitars sound really bad? i can barely hear em

This band makes music based on horror movies, and Spencer likes to play the villain because that’s the most fun roll
Do you not realize their concept? There are hardly any concept bands out there, and you are hating for something they've been perfecting for years.
