@@simoncennals you're not wrong at all about that. I actually just released my short film about how I ended up in Banff, it's like 3 minutes long. Not trying to be that self promotion guy, but it's topical to this vid/convo and I promised myself I would at least be a little bit of that self promotion guy on this one. Thanks for the great content you make either way, I watched a bunch of your vids before I traveled there.
I love your work and thanks for sharing your tips. For the shot with the roots, did you use the focus stacking feature built in to the camera or manually select a different focus point? Did you also do exposure bracketing, and what aperture?
I manually focus stacked. I've played with the in camera focus stack option a little but could probably utilise it more. A slightly darker exposure for Mount Rundle/background. All at about F11, thanks for watching!
@@seasterl focus stacked the foreground in Photoshop. Then edited in the focus/slightly darker exposure of the back ground in after. Everything would have had slight edits in Lightroom then opened as layers in photoshop
@@simoncennals Cool! Thanks for the tip! Took a few thousand shots in Alberta recently (most were due to bracketing), but was disappointed with my R5’s focus bracketing feature. I should have manually selected my focus points as you did. I appreciate the advice! Keep the videos coming!
Great images of this location and very good video 👍👍👍👍👍
Recently found your channel. Enjoying it, regards from Scotland!
Appreciate your watching!
I literally set my camera up in front of that exact log a month ago lol. Great minds think alike
It's a great log!

@@BRollBenny nothing wrong with some self promo. I'll check it out.
@@simoncennals much appreciated!
Good job. Whatever it takes to get the shot. It's Fall now in the SE US. Which means it will be Winter soon. Unfortunately we don't get much snow.
I'd love it if fall stayed around a little longer here!
@@simoncennals So would I. Summer lasts longer here. But, the leaves peak for only a couple weeks in the Fall.

@@simoncennals So you did the focus stack and altered the exposure at the same time and then blended all in Ps (without using the Lr HDR feature)?
