I dont know guys, you could call me a fanboy or whatever, or just someone whos enjoys what Rise Against does, but I dont see any sort of decline for the band. I think a lot of people have given them shit for turning "mainstream" since ATR, but i dont think they have lost their passion. I think its clear that these are 4 dudes that love what they do and i think thats what matters the most. I use to be mad about the new fans from just listening to savior too. I mean i understand that bitter feeling when someone from the outside comes into this community of punks. But so what? Who cares about those people, honestly? I love Rise Against, and that is all that matters, to me at least. They have turned me on to a different view of the world, and have inspired me to do things about it. I want to use my music to inspire others to think bigger, just like they do for me. And other people have other reasons to love Rise Against, and thats all that matters. Now talking about their music, I think if you look closely, there are no two identical Rise Against albums. The unraveling is definately raw, unpolished, and angry(not to mention very introspective). RPM is dynamic with the additional guitar and political lyrics. Siren song is longer with riffs and bridges and all that good stuff with punching vocals. Sufferer and the witness feels like something greater. Something that you just feel that oozes out of the drum skins and amp cabinets. ATR is a bit more polished but the bass reminds me of what Rise Against can do, which is create incredible pieces of musical art. In addition, ATR's mainstream success opens up Rise Against to a more diverse audience. I know that might seem unforgivable, but listen. Rise Against undoubtedly has opinions to share with the world about the things they think need changing. With a greater audience, these ideas will be able to absorb into the minds of even more people to actually inspire change, which is amazing. Endgame was a harmony of every instrument that supported incredible lyrics that shattered the distorted realities of some huge issues. Black market became dynamic with tone and mostly introspective, with the eco terrorist in me being a reminder that the world deserves our attention. And introspective is not bad. It is not mainstream, especially since RA wrote introspectively in their very first album. The lyrics of the black market album focus on how a soul handles the shit from outside forces. All the struggle, the heartbreak, the despair, and many can relate. This ability to connect to an audience through similar experiences is incredible, and can even be a source of help for those people. Do you guys see that Rise Against changes and changes but will always be Rise Against. Tim's voice may be worn from years of performing but he still has that passion. They are a band that outlives their guitars and drumsticks to become of force for progress in a world where alot of people just dont give a shit anymore. And if you still dont like Rise Against, thats cool too. We all have different likes and tastes and thats okay. As long as we arent assholes about who we like or dont like we are okay. I just want people to see a different perspective on Rise Against's development through the years.
yeah but they still do. I've heard them play both before. Also in this show they played last chance blueprint, alive and well, like the angel. All good oldies
+Neven H. The same as what most other lead singers do after singing for one hour. Keep going. Tim Mcilrath's voice is just a little fucked up, cause he's been singing really "screamy" songs for so long. They take their toll on his voice.
This show was the last show of "The Black Market Tour"... the shows they are currently doing are in collaboration with other bands such as Foo Fighters and Linking Park
I can imagine all the years have worn down his voice, and with the new album out and all the touring they do, sounds to me like his voice is going out. He can't scream like he did 10 years ago. Probably why his vocals are not as aggressive on the Black Market, but hey, still an excellent record!
Why have they still not worked out to get Zach to play the Savior intro? I love this band but it's so hard to do the vocals and keep time with the intro and Tim always struggles.
ihhhh man, i hope Tim takes a rest, 'cause his voice was very tired and he was putting a lot of stregh in this show, force the voice is awful, i just hope he rests before something happens
I've come to love Zach over the years but goddamn, did he ever learn about note progression and how notes go together? I get it, it's punk rock, but even in punk the music has to function properly to be good. And his improvisations on older songs is just terrible.
I honestly dont know, but a black armband usually symbolizes mourning. He's been wearing so long I dont thing he is mourning a particular person, but it could have a link with the fact that many RA songs have an aspect of loss as a theme
Lots of guitarists wear one. It's to stop your forearm grinding against the body of the guitar while hammering the strings. I like the other theory as well.
Matthew Criswell You'll see guitarists wearing them on different spots on their right arm depending wear it rubs. It's actually kinda like a friction burn and can be pretty nasty and these guys are doing this every night, so for some it's necessary, not all, but quite a few.
Personally I think that his voice is still good, especially in acoustic perfomances, but I miss his old powerfull raspy voice like in Siren Song of the Counter Culture album

Amazing concert and that acoustic set was just beautiful.

@@alexandregubio broooooo I don't even remember writing this.. Thanks for reminding me haha
Way to long since I last got to attend a Rise Against concert. November 23rd just can't come soon enough.

We're going also to Stockholm to see them....can't wait!
I ware there, amazing night!
You can see in his eyes that he sings what he feels
No Paper Wings :(
The rarely ever play Black Masks And Gasoline :(
Paper wings is one of their best songs imo
yeah but they still do. I've heard them play both before. Also in this show they played last chance blueprint, alive and well, like the angel. All good oldies

RISE ✊
RISE!!!!!!!!✊✊✊✊
Can't wait to see them live in Oslo. First time, going to be immense!
Someone's gotta tab out that version of Swing Life Away.
+Aidan Chapel it's pretty much the same as the original just capo on the 4th fret
I'd kill for the guitar/bass tabs of the Ready to Fall intro
They need to do Zero Visibility Love at some point.
Alive and Well и Last Chance Blueprint порадовали в сет-листе
i was there. so awesome
by the time Savior rolled around, his voice was done!.
+Neven H. The same as what most other lead singers do after singing for one hour. Keep going. Tim Mcilrath's voice is just a little fucked up, cause he's been singing really "screamy" songs for so long. They take their toll on his voice.
+RaeAnna Speights My voice was done while singing along and I wasn't even doing the screams he does.
I saw them in Vienna on 8. Oktober
oof
Damn I wish I could see them live
Muito foda! Estou aguardando eles virem pro Brasil de novo.
Красивый город, красивый концерт
35:23 - Nice little solo!
Damn swing life away was perfect. Makes me want to just go around Seattle and play my acoustic :p
They had to stop half way through Behind Closed Doors in Manchester last night because it were that mental.
They'll probably play more of the new album songs when they have some sort of "Black Market Tour".
This show was the last show of "The Black Market Tour"... the shows they are currently doing are in collaboration with other bands such as Foo Fighters and Linking Park
damn. his voice was struggling from the start and he had to go through another hour+
Better than lip singing though
+Da Mother Fuckin Queen I think FullmoonEffects89 comment was more made in awe rather than to critic.
James Lopez maybe its just half of the comments here are 'omg hes such a shit musican'
Da Mother Fuckin Queen Oh yeah! Thats also true :O. Didnt think about that one. :)
No Sudden life? :'(
58:40 note to self
They don't play The Black Market songs?
I dont want to be here anymore...
People Live Here and I Don't want to be here anymore. It's probably because fans like seeing the old stuff too.
Tim's voice sounds a bit different to usual here.
I thought the same
nope, sounds exactly the same when you compare it with hurricane/southside etc...
I can imagine all the years have worn down his voice, and with the new album out and all the touring they do, sounds to me like his voice is going out. He can't scream like he did 10 years ago. Probably why his vocals are not as aggressive on the Black Market, but hey, still an excellent record!
He injured his throat after screamings at one of the 2007 concerts so why he cant screaming now like in old albums
Must say I was a little amused at Timmy's voice crack during Give it All. But now I am amazed at how perfect he sung Re-Education (Through Labor).
Only two songs from the new album? really?
some shows they didnt even play People Live Here, theyll be playing Tragedy + Time soon though since its their new single
They need to come to Lithuania
Why have they still not worked out to get Zach to play the Savior intro? I love this band but it's so hard to do the vocals and keep time with the intro and Tim always struggles.
No hero of war :(
Cuz Russia
Tim's voice sounds more strained than the usual
ihhhh man, i hope Tim takes a rest, 'cause his voice was very tired and he was putting a lot of stregh in this show, force the voice is awful, i just hope he rests before something happens
Gunnar Martinez yeah, this is my fear. i can't live without the best punk band ever
+Pedro Henrique i hope he is ok
Zack's backup vocals have gotten way better
deveria mesmo vim para o Brasil no Rock in Rio ia ser foda d+++
I've come to love Zach over the years but goddamn, did he ever learn about note progression and how notes go together? I get it, it's punk rock, but even in punk the music has to function properly to be good. And his improvisations on older songs is just terrible.
Like what songs specifically are you talking about?
wow he sounded like he was dying by the end poor him he should rest
if he isn`t jumping he sings pretty well, but whеn he starts running and jumping, it gets worse
This fight against his voice... sad they're sooooo amazing Studio versioned !
Everything's great except for the backup vocals.
RISEEEEE
A voz dele nesse show ta meio estranha. Só eu acho isso?
Também achei.
Diogo Destro Sim kra,mas parece q esse ano tá bem melhor, dps ve eles no rock in rio usa e rock on the range
Diogo Destro Fãs do RA Aki no brasil e difícil achar salve ae !
FPS Games Psé! salve! RA devia vir no Rock in Rio,e tocar as antigas tbm! hehe
Does anybody know why Tim always wears a band on his right arm? Is it for show, or is there a purpose?
I honestly dont know, but a black armband usually symbolizes mourning. He's been wearing so long I dont thing he is mourning a particular person, but it could have a link with the fact that many RA songs have an aspect of loss as a theme
Jacob Raymond That's a good theory. I never knew that.
Lots of guitarists wear one. It's to stop your forearm grinding against the body of the guitar while hammering the strings. I like the other theory as well.
clonazapam I thought it was like to keep sweat from dripping and making him drop his pick or something but thanks for the info. I didn't know that :)
Matthew Criswell You'll see guitarists wearing them on different spots on their right arm depending wear it rubs. It's actually kinda like a friction burn and can be pretty nasty and these guys are doing this every night, so for some it's necessary, not all, but quite a few.
They suck in such a small joint
не плохой концерт
love their music, but the singers voice is really bad on stage
I have to agree, but if you listen to stuff they did 10 years, Tim did a lot more screaming. So I guess he must be starting to break his voice
Personally I think that his voice is still good, especially in acoustic perfomances, but I miss his old powerfull raspy voice like in Siren Song of the Counter Culture album
Maks Mashkin I totally agree! Tim's voice on People Live Here is beautiful
Jacob Raymond I agree + Tim looks very tired in this video, so why his voice is not his best
This time it was awful. Seems a really tired voice and when they came to the stage he seems really worried and serious. Probably because of that.

дякую,але я думаю в мене нема шансів попасти як сильно я б не хотів)
Я пойду с вероятностью 90%. В последнее время стал с концертов подписанные фотки приносить. С Rise Against нет - непорядок!
