Thanks for checking out the Burl Audio B16 Mothership! You'll find more great solutions for studio and live sound when you hit those like and subscribe buttons 🤘
Hello, very useful video! My question is, is it possible to set B16 up ,like: B4/B22/BMB5? Will this set up be reasonable ? Therefore I needn’t use a interface like Apogee Symphony Desktop? Thanks a lot!)
How does this connect to a Mac mini..... I currently have a prism sound lyra but I am considering on a Burl. How the connection to record is not clear to me being that most interfaces have usb or thunderbolt connectivity.
Hello, JRClark! There are options! You can get the Mothership with AES, Soundgrid, Digilink, or Dante. So if you don’t have HDX hardware or the most simple solution is going to be either Soundgrid or Dante; With either of those it would connect via Cat6 to your Mac mini. Give us a shout and we can discuss in more depth! Thanks for the interest! James Masterson, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1641, james_masterson@sweetwater.com
12:00 How does Out Puts 3 and 4 toggle Between A and B. That Would have to be 3-4 as A. plus 5-6 as B. How to you set up Four speakers to Two outputs? makes no sense.
William is correct. it is possible. you’d need to outfit the Mothership with the BMB6 AES/EBU motherboard. this will output up to 8 channels of AES. you’d need to convert the AES signal to an ADAT signal though for your Twin to see. since you will be using the Burl for most of your conversion and clocking, you really would not be gaining much of an improvement at all having an X series twin. maybe sell the Twin X and buy an older generation Twin and put the money towards the Burl.
@@deeplistening01 Hi Michael, if I buy a dante version of the B16 with the B4 and B22 cards, does that mean I can just replace my apollo completely? (I still have my satellite for plugins..) Thanks
@@alexzmixing hey! sorry this is 10 months late. if you’re looking to hook it up directly to your computer like an Apollo, the Soundgrid option that they cover in this video is the way to go. Soundgrid is essentially Waves version of UA Console, but the ethernet connection allows the Burl to talk directly to your computer without the need for a pcie card or additional digital interfacing protocols.
Is this an audio interface? I'm looking to buy a new interface, and plan on getting the Burl analog to digital, so is this the missing interface? Or do i need to buy something else along with this to make it my interface?
Hey, Barney! In a way, this can be an interface - the purpose of the Mothership system is to be a totally user-configurable environment. You could purchase the Dante version of the Mothership and load it up with either (or both) the BAD8/BDA8 cards, since most PC's and Macs support Dante natively if they have an ethernet port. If you're looking at configuring things in a different way, feel free to reach out - happy to help! Thanks again, and Happy Holidays! Great question! That could depend on how you want them to work together. Using the Mothership as your ADC/DAC, you can have line inputs via the option cards. So if you're wanting to still use your Apollo pres, you could go line out to the Mothership if that's what you're getting at. Feel free to reach out if you want to dive in to anything further! I use my apollo x4 as a monitor controller and my apollo 8 for extra i/o and dsp. Can you use the mothership 16 for extra Inputs? Since the Burl doesn’t have ADAT. I don’t like the conversion of the apollo. But to go all the way Burl route that would mean I have to get the B80 right? Since im recording drums in some cases with a live band. Thank you so much! Greetings from Amsterdam
I tuned in to see what this B16 is and you guys dumped a steamy pile of tech talk. I got no idea what this expensive piece of gear does and I don't intend to spend money on earning sound engineering degree to find out. Guess I'll live without it. Very poor sales and marketing.
I'll dumb it down for you...IT SOUNDS FUCKING AMAZING. IT'S MODULAR. IT'S THE GREATEST CONVERTER/INTERFACE MONEY CAN BUY. BURL SUPPORT IS FANTASTIC. If you buy it and don't like it, then you have 90 days to return it to Sweetwater and go try something else.

We used to play the Med in Santa Cruz. Love that town! Clifford from Blast used to book us and put us up.

is it possible to connect the B16 mothership to a apollo twin x?
If you use the BMB6 motherboard card with AES out into the Apollo, then yes

Is itvan audiocard to connect with microphones and line-ins?
