Hello Nate, I have been attending the World of Concrete conventions since 1975 ... the first one was in Houston, TX. I have worked the shows as an exhibitor for most of those years. 2022 marks my fiftieth year in the concrete industry ... time well spent. Thank you for your review of the recent show! I respect and appreciate everything about the Essential Craftsman ... keep up the good work !-)

Your comment about appreciating the many categories of professionals who work together to produce these fine products - product engineers, manufacturing engineers, software engineers, quality assurance people, draftsmen, material controllers, procurers, coordinators, suppliers, etc. - is well taken.

We would have posted a video on our channel about WOC but their website said no video recording. Come to find out no one cared. Regret not recording but it was sure fun to see everything they had to show when we went this year.

I love the shots of the kids in their new Stihl hats. I have had the opportunity to go to several of the big conventions, but have not been to World of Concrete yet. I have to put that one on my list. I too have been fascinated to see all of the new shiny equipment at these shows. My favorite was walking around a CAT 797 Haul Truck at the Mine Expo several years back. It was literally as big as a house. On a side note, it has been great to see the big shows coming back to Las Vegas. Our economy relies so much on these big conventions and was hit very hard (~33% unemployed at the worst of the pandemic), so thank you for coming back. Your fans that live in Las Vegas appreciate it.

You called it competition, but I think its more of a mutual desire to do better. I've tried to "network" with other lawn care guys and some are so standoffish, yet others enjoy talking shop. AND those that talk will share the load if either party needs help or has too much work.
Very cool. I love seeing the trade shows from my favorite tubers!

Intriguing video! I worked for Rotabelt in PA for a few years installing concrete conveyors on cement trucks. Even went to the Kimball mixer factory in Ohio to help build the Haulin' for Harley American flag truck, which made it to the World of Concrete in 2018 as our show truck. Fun stuff!

The battery-powered tools of the different lines do about the same thing BUT because the batteries are not interchangeable, it is best to choose a system and stay with one battery system to reduce problems.

I bought my first cordless tools last year and after looking at the ranges of each manufacturer I decided to go with Makita because of the their lineup of outdoor power equipment. The last thing I bought was "multi-function powerhead" with pole saw and brush cutter attachments. It's amazing how well these modern lithium batteries and tools perform compared to the cordless drill my Dad had in the 1990s.

Really nice to see it in this way and on the Victory style channel. had some good memories of the show back then. Teamed up some business with Sika. Keep up the good work with easy money!!

For me when it comes to tools, especially grinders, chipping, demo and roto hammers. Impacts and drills they all pretty much perform the same. The big thing is repair and warranty on the tools. Not so much up front cost of the tools. It’s how long can we use it before it breaks and how long will it be off the job getting repaired before I get it back and put into service? That’s the biggest thing for me. If it’s gone for 3 months forget about it. Good video. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

I’m curious how long it takes to deconstruct all the examples they make like the 3D printed concrete house.
You mentioned brand loyalty with cordless tools. Not sure if it is brand loyalty or due to batteries not being compatible with other brands. Who wants to have that many different battery platforms? You pretty much pick a color and stick with it. Red, yellow, orange, teal, navy blue.

@@honthirty_ I’m all about starting something like this. But what about the legality? Which company would get upset? The tool or the battery company? Also, why are there no conversion for the different systems? Take Milwaukee’s M series. I personally run M18s, but why isnt there a buffer of some sort that allows me to use my M18 batteries on a M12 tool like a grease gun, pvc pipe cutter or a laser level? Sometimes the smaller tool will do the job just fine.

Forgive the off topic aside, but ... I cringe seeing all those people without masks in close proximity to one another. And people wonder why omicron rates are spiking. The virus has already jumped species and is now endemic. Heaven help us WHEN (not IF) a mutation emerges that escapes current vaccines, and has a high(er) mortality rate.
Ok, back on topic ... sorry about that. I already lost one member of my family to covid, so its a sensitive topic for me.
