I really enjoy swords & wizardry, although my usual group doesn't >_> lol. I have done vids on the osr movement in general in the past, and actually do have one regarding retro clones planned for the near future. In fact, I think it's gonna be the last Tabletops & taverns vid of this season before I start my general adventure design series.
Doing them in the order of official release, so Holmes went before AD&D, then B/X and BECMI are slated for after. I'm considering combining them into one mega-episode, depending on how much material I find.
The heart of D&D is the combat system. Let's face it... Even with 5e the game is based and balanced around combat and not roleplaying. Roleplaying has no rules and it's the rules that make it D&D. Wish people would quit hijacking 'roleplay' that simply meant playing a role on a team. Even Arneson's Blackmoor used Chainmail rules.
"People shouldn't do things the way they want! They should do things the way I see them, and the only way to do things is the first way they were done." Nice approach, that would fill the roads with Richard Trevithick's steam-powered cars.
