I bought this tractor yt 3000 from my local Sears in 2013… outside of regular maintenance this past spring I replace a ignition coil that is it. Oh, and a front tire. As far as I am concerned, this little tractor owes me nothing. Still going strong today.
I have one of these yt3000 and if I stop and go in reverse (with the blades engaged) the engine will start to bog down and cut off. I have to disingage the cutting lever and I can go in reverse without a problem. Should these mowers be able to cut while going in reverse? Thanks
Haha I would agree but if you look up the parts lists for these they actually call it a flange bearing and the c clip is actually an e clip. Semantics are fun! Thanks for watching!
yes, you are right bushing not bearing i bought bearings on Amazon for mine, just typed in The Craftsman model number and all the parts came up for that model of mine was a YTS 4000
I advise at the end to grease up the entire front end and show where the zerks are. This deposits grease directly on the shaft. If you do not have a grease gun the only way to do this is while they are off. Thanks for watching!

Awesome!! Thanks for watching!
I replaced my wheel bushings with bearings last April. So far so good and no greasing the front wheels anymore.
Awesome!
I just changed mine. It’s a noticeable difference. I like it.
If only people could understand how much a little maintenance could help
That is so true
are those the same size??? the inside and outside bearing
Yes, they sure are!
Thanks

Yes they should cut backwards but it is much harder on the mower as the grass is actually being cut twice if the deck is adjusted correcrly.
There is a Key position that allows this. Once started, turn the key back one position for Reverse operating.
@@lornehiemstra1823 the engine bogs down when cutting in reverse, so the key position has been engaged.
Loose nut behind the wheel possibly.
GOOD VIDEO.
Thank you!
Thanks for this easy to foloow video.
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the information brother, has anyone ever said you sound like Tom Hanks? Lol
Haha thanks for watching! I think you are like the tenth person to mention that I don't hear it but apparently I am wrong!
It is a bushing, not a bearing, and a c-clip, not a snap ring. Mmmkay

I need help with mine because the steering has a toe out issue and I can't figure it out
Usually bent tie rods...
@@IndRepair thank you ill check that out
Yes sir
@@IndRepair you can bend them back to straighten. There are numerous TH-cam videos on how to correct from tire alignment.
@@M70ACARRY Awesome!
AWESOME
Thanks for watching!
No grease?
How else are they going to bring it back in a year or two? We greased them up via the zerk, yes
Why nii oh t lube the axle?

Must have never been greased to be worn like that. The best bet is to replace those shitty bushings with bearings instead.
The upgrade kits are great!
Watch the TH-cam video “Poor man’s power steering” and incorporate this into your lawn tractor.
Will make steering easier but if the bushings are bad it will still be difficult. Thanks for watching!
Look like it was already binding up
Not sure what you mean
