Now retired, was proud to be a Red Arrow driver. Had these on the square at Nottingham, pre launch, there is a video on YT somewhere, take a look. Sad as it may be to some, launch day was on of my best days ever! The sad part was that coach 62, a Volvo Plaxton Premiere was retired, lovely old girl, missed by me, but not other drivers! These Elite's are in my top 5 vehicles having driven, lovely comfy, well specked coach! Seeing this makes me want to re- instate my PSV! Happy days!!!!
Thank you from a Nottingham based bus enthusiast for an excellent video. I strongly agree with neilburns' comment regarding the quietness of the ride. See also my response to his second comment. Viewers should note that ENCTS pensioners' passes are not valid on this service. Nor is the current £2 maximum fare applicable.
The one thing that stands out for me about these Volvo coaches is just how well insulated they are and how quiet once you close the door. For me personally, Volvo have often had a bit of a majestic feel about their coaches.
Having driven these, the Elite really is a nice place to be. Built by Plaxton in Scarborough, i managed to sneak a preview when these were being built when happening to be in that part of the world. Any body on a Volvo chassis is good though, they just drive superb.
Trentbarton route brand their buses and the livery is different for each service. The services generally have names rather than numbers. Some of the names reflect where they go, for example, The Mickleover, and The Allestree, suburbs in Derby.
I imagine that this will be one of a few such routes in the East Midlands. The reason I say this is that I always tend to think of the East Midlands being made up of the 3 major cities that are in a kind of triangle not really a million miles apart and not too far from East Midlands airport (which is primarily a big cargo airport but often has many passenger flights). Of course the 3 major cities I refer to are: Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. Plenty of interesting bus journey videos to be had!!😜😎👍👏🤝😊
I am afraid you may be disappointed. In the East Midlands, the Red Arrow is unique. There has not been a Nottingham to Leicester pay-the-driver limited slop service for many many years. There is a good frequency Derby-EMA-Loughborough-Leicester service, but it is rather slow and worked by ordinary single-deck buses. It should be noted that Trentbarton and Kinchbus have no double-decks. I am a bus enthusiast resident in Nottingham. If I want a rural topdeck ride, my choices are limited to three routes. Stagecoach Pronto to Mansfield and Chesterfield; Nottingham City Transport 1 to Loughborough; NCT 26 to Southwell.

Trentbarton is a really cool company and I love their livery

One more nice bus ride!
Sure is!
How about Sherwood arrow Nottingham to Retford or Nottingham to workshop.
I’m waitin’ for coach videos!
Great👍🏻
I like it!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
420 or 450 HP?
This is why I like coaches because they are luxury
Yeah!
Nice journey but you're actually going from Nottingham to Derby not the other way round as you say in the title. Keep the videos coming though.
Thank you for correcting us❤️❤️
