PO is worst job...these days from past 2-3 yrs Target n harrasment increased a lot..but if u ready to take pressure n work then no pblm u can work for 5-10 yrs if u want to take it as final job then you have to become expert all type of banking specially salesmen job

I read in quora that many bank POs quit the job because of high workload and lack of work life balance. It will be good if u clarify that whether POs are being pressurized to meet certain targets or not...

We do not get any targets as such. No PO would get direct targets regarding loans, recovery etc from the ZO. You will when you become the branch head. You might also want to get more insights. It's not just about the work pressure, it's the mental pressure that comes with responsibilities when you become a branch head or assistant branch head. You're free from all that during the probation and the sooner you realise it the better. You'll see it yourself when you join as a PO, if you're already one, well and good. Enjoy while it lasts.

In today scenario bank dont do there basic duty of opening acc and loan but now bank is all about third party product to sell insurance. Under pressure banker sells wrong insurance products which effect ultimately customer only also to open govt products like sukanya ppf ... Heavy work load very low staff so try to go for some other govt job other than banking inorder to live peacefully life

I am working in a private sector bank right now, I want to ask that in private sector banks there is alotttt of work pressure regarding cross selling, I am a teller but i am also doing loans, KGC, credit card, Dmat everything. I am in ops, but still it's like if you don't do cross sell, you are mentally finished from the pressue you got. Is it same in Public sector banks?
But your salary increment & promotion is not based on sales performance plus u r not competing with other employees of the bank. So overall pressure is far less plus salary & pension far better
