I got "The Will of the Many" because of you and plan to dive into it in 2025! I haven't heard any of the other booktubers I frequent talk about it yet!
Would you ever do a whole video dedicated SJMs books? I’m not sure if you’ve already made one. I’ve never read any of her books and am wondering if i’m missing out and if so, where I should start. Would love a video on that from you because I think our taste in books is very similar. 😊 Also, I just have to thank you for mentioning Remakably Bright Creatures so often in your videos. I just finished it and loved it!! Marcellus is my new favourite character!❤
Okay so YES I've been wanting to do this - I've actually been re-reading Throne of Glass partly for this purpose as well, I felt like I needed a solid refresher before doing a big video on all things SJM. So yes this is in the pipeline and hopefully coming soon!! And that makes me so happy that you liked Remarkably Bright Creatures so much! Marcellus is just the best.
I read Piranesi three? years ago and I wasn't sure I liked it at the time. Since then I have not stopped thinking about it and it has risen exponentially in my estimation and I plan to reread it this year bc I'm pretty sure I'd give it five stars now. I'm not sure what it is exactly that stuck with me or why I didn't really love it at the time but I read A LOT so when I keep thinking about a book, especially one I didn't love, I recognize that it impacted me way more than I thought it did when I first read it.
5:17 I'm kind of having the same feeling as I read Fragile Sanctuary. It's a romance slash murder mystery. I've kind of lost interest in the romance because the guy is suffering from depression and clearly just sees the female in a s**ual way instead of falling in love with her. I'm curious to figure out who the murderer is though. They haven't given us much of a hint.
wait! I love seeing all that you read before I found you on here! I love this! I really need to keep notes on all the books you talk about because I had The Serpent and the Wings of Night in my hand and I don't remember you talking about that title before, and I ended up putting it back on my shelf. Now, I must go back and get it! lol aww man, I have How to Read a book in my TBR! I hope I like it ya know I cant wait to read TOG series!
Hello, my name is Christina and I'm new to your chancel and the books I'm reading are Hooked by Emily Micntire How Snowball stole Christmas by Kriaten Mckanagh Sea Creatures by Susanna Daniel Fudge Cupcake Murder by Joanne Fluke The Magnolia Sisters by Michelle When we found home by Susan Mallery The Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille Marley & Me by John Grogan. and Happy New Years to everyone.
Remarkably Bright Creatures and JFTS are both on my top 10 of 2024!! Along with Piranesi, that’s where we differ, haha. Funny Story, Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands, and the Shepherd King duology were honorable mentions. Fredrik Backman is one of my favorite authors, loved the Beartown series and Anxious People the most. And I think I’m officially DNF’ing the Crescent City series after book 2, I’ve been going back and forth because I didn’t love book 2 but that ending had me curious but I have heard such negative things about HOSAF 😬 I was so baffled by all the hype around Powerless as well, haha I’ve never been so confused about why so many people love a certain book… I had similar thoughts about The Seven Year Slip, I liked it but my expectations were too high because of how hyped it was. I’m looking forward to continuing the Lovelight Farms series, 100% agree that it’s better than Dream Harbor. Thanks for all your helpful thoughts on whether or not to read these books!!
I've read 78 books with some of them being short stories! Most were 4 stars with a good amount of 5 stars but I really wanted more! This year I'll be a lot more focused on the ones I'm thinking will be 5 stars and hopefully have an amazing reading year!
I started Happy Place but DNF-ed for a while and than I listened to Funny story and loved it so much Miles is my favorite male character I read this year, planning to embark in SJM this year thinking to start with ACOTAR 🤔
Yay Emily Henry and SJM are ahead of you! I started with ACOTAR as well so I'm kind of partial to that... I think it's the easiest on-ramp to her series and writing style personally.
Yup, The Guest List was my first and last Lucy Foley. I'm somewhat interested in If We Were Villains, The Book of Doors, The Will of the Many, and One Dark Window. Project Hail Mary is near the top of what I want to read in 2025.
Okay I see Scythe on your shelfs 👀 Have you read it? How was it!? Also I am so glad I'm not the only one that just thought a seven year slip was "meh". I just felt like it went nowhere!
Yes I've read the whole Scythe trilogy! It's been a while to be fair, I think I read it back in 2018 or 2019 but I remember really liking it. I think it's a super unique concept that I hadn't read about before - a cool take on a sort of "dystopian" series but without a lot of doom in gloom that usually comes with those? tbh I don't remember a lot about the characters, but the plot and premise have stuck with me throughout these years so I would recommend it!
For Backman, highly recommend A Man Called Ove and the Beartown trilogy. Beartown is one of my all-time favs.
me too, i'll never shut up about Beartown :))
Everyone is saying Beartown is a must! I'm excited to read them.
Love your sweater. And thanks for all the great videos this past year.
Ah thank you so much!
Diva I read the Beartown trilogy and surprisingly, survived. I RECOMMEND!!!! Fav books of the year for me
I'm looking forward to it!

That makes me so happy - I really hope you like it!
You have to read beartown by fredrik backman!! Soooo good! Especially during winter.
I'm excited to read it!
So glad you loved Project Hail Mary! That was one of my favorites in 2023. 🥰 *fist bump*
It's sooooo good!
I’m in love with your bookshelves!!❤
Ah thank you! Me too :)

Yes that's a great point!
Love your sweater!

Agh yeah I hate when that happens in a book! Such a let down. But I'm glad you can still be hooked on the mystery for now.

I read exactly 68 books, too!! My goal was 40 books. It's been a very good reading year for me.
That's amazing!

Thank you for always having the most thoughtful and sweetest comments! I love hearing your thoughts, I think we have really similar reading taste. :)

I loved Book of Doors
Those are all awesome books!

I love your sweater!! Where did you get it??
Thank you! It's from Cider :)
Hi new subscriber here. Just checking in 😊
Crossing one hour mark 😮💨😮💨
She's long winded hahaha
Being so honest Reckless is not worth it if you weren’t feeling Powerless 😅 it feels like a filler book
Same goes for the Atlas Six series. Nothing happened in book 2 🫣 or 3 for that matter. Personally I won’t be continuing the series.
I'm in a weird place where I KNOW I won't like it....but I kinda wanna read it just to find out how much I don't like it lol
