This is genuinely so cool to see the process from the point of an artist applying for the spriter role! I'm one of the Sprite Managers on the server, and back when I just joined the IF Discord, there was no real application rules or anything, so I never actually went through this process myself despite helping lots of people with it. Our team, once it formed, had to organize all the processes and make it clear and understandable for the new people wanting to become IF spriters, and it's really refreshing and fun to see these processes from the opposite side. I hope you have great time spriting silly animals in the future, thank you for making such an entertaining video!

Many potential spriter applicants, established pixel artists or otherwise, get really intimidated by all of the guidelines, but hopefully such a neat and concise video describing the journey will help people realize that it isn’t all that scary just to give it a try!

what a well edited video, im a mod on the server and a spriter with over 1000 sprites. its so fun and cool to see people go through this process nowadays too. even though when i got it 5 years ago it was a lot more simple LMAO (dm a mod with 3 sprites and then they give you the role, wowzers) i wish you much luck on your journey as a content creator!! and hey.. hit me up and we could do a collab on a fusion sometime :3
Nice job becoming a spriter! I’m a bot manager on the server that maintain the Zigzag bot that (among other things) shows you where the sprite gets placed in the battle. Super cool to see the process since a lot of has changed from when I first became a spriter. Hope to see more sprites and videos from you in the future 🎉

Congrats on becoming a spriter! I think as long as you understand the fundamentals of pixel art, as well as being able to listen to and take in feedback, you can become a spriter for Infinite Fusion without too much trouble! I have a few dozen sprites in, but haven't made any for quite a while now, and seeing this video is giving me the itch to get back in there and make some more :D If I do get back to it, and see any of your sprites, I'll check in and say hello :)

Neat to see this video, I used to be really into the game years ago (I still replay it every now and then, but I'm not as into it as I am now.) I've got a couple dozen of my own works in the game, but they're mostly splices from the time when there wasn't too much by way of restrictions in that regard. I'll still go back to good ol' Gengeon as a tried and true core team member in my playthroughs if I can, nothing beats gengeon. In the times before there was even a proper IF discord (I wanna say the version of the game that only went to Koga) I'd submitted a sprite on the forum post for Gengeon, though I think that one's been lost to time. I did eventually make a second gengeon sprite when I found that out, and it's in the game to this day. (the one with the blue fog from shiny gastly around its neck, I wanna say I did it before fused shinies were properly implemented just bc I thought it looked cooler than purple gastly fog)

This was such a great video dude! You gave me a look into a community I never knew existed (which gave a lot of context to your streams!!) Obviously the editing was top tier too, loved all the joke breaks with the Equation guy trying to explain things to you despite the Lucario/Scizor design being rejected and that being justifiably unfair. It's such a cool design. Can't wait to see what videos you make next!!

i think it was the back sprite of gen 3 zangoose but that one also has like a random stray pixel and it pisses me off haha but thank you so much appreciate it a lot!

You can see me on the sidebar a few times :3c Hopefully, this demystifies the process for a lot of newbies, especially since you covered a lot of the important points like taking feedback and what a conventional fusion is.
Oh, as I remember, I tried to become a Spriter on the server, and I've been one for about 2 years now, and I know how difficult it is sometimes to come up with something interesting to fusions, If someone wanted to see my fusion, it's the same name as here.
I've only made a handful of sprites, and that was *years* ago. Examlpe in my profile pic lol But I remember those days fondly. Pretty decent handful of us sharing resources with newbies like sprite parts from all the official Gen 5 sprites. Ahh the good ol days, i think i still have the spriter role despite not posting in forever
@@MatchaMouse Absolutely still submit it if you haven't yet. One of my personal bests doesn't follow the formula exactly but it's still the default just because no one else has submit a proper one. Well not since the last time I checked like a year ago lol
As someone who became a spriter in spring of 2024, welcome! Also advice for people wanting in on spitting: please read EVERYTHING and do not submit the same Pokémon for an application! I made that mistake and it cost me hours!!!
I was disappointed when one of the fusions I was running didn't have any official art, so I made my own. Would have considered submitting, but didn't have the motivation to do two more.
