Any haters disrespecting this need to check out Dispatch. THE most successful indie band of all time. Also check out State Radio. Chad is a wicked talented guy.
I first saw Chadwick Stokes in a video of the Madison Sq Gdn show they did as Dispatch to benefit Zimbabwe. I highly recommend you check that out, it sold out and they did another night which also sold out. Then, I saw him with State Radio at a small venue in my town. The guy has a warm personality and is a talented musician with a purpose. Great tunes...thanks for sharing NPR.
Chad's great, and I'm glad they played "I Want You Like A Seatbelt", definitely my favorite from Horse Comanche. I love how when he's live, he sounds the same as his albums. Some artists sound completely different, ie too much editing, on their albums so their live performances kind of disappoint.
I was at The Last Dispatch in 2004 on the field of the Hatch Shell and I don't care what Pete or Brad have to say. This is not Dispatch! I love you Chad but you should have remained State Radio.
One of the most under appreciated tiny desks of all time.
Band***
My favourite artist of all times Chadwick Stokes and all the amazing musicians he surrounds himself with. Respect. And thank you ♥️
Chad Stokes works incredibly hard, he's already big in New England, and it would be so awesome to see him on top someday

So glad to see Chad on the Tiny Desk! We absolutely LOVED capturing his set at HOB in Boston last year. Great guy, wonderful music.

Warm is a great way to put it. Truly humble and an amazing songwriter. Chadwick and Paul Simon are my two favorites for that reason
these guys put a smile on my face everytime. thanks for sharing. much love.
I feel like I should be sipping on some whiskey while listening to "Pine Needle Tea"
Agreed. It's always been a morning coffee song for me though. Why not marry the two eh?

Elias at Red Rocks still gets me. I’m hoping one day to see them live 😊
"timeless tunes-paintings with words" absolutely! Great job guys :)
Chad, his brother Willie, and J.R. 🔥🔥🔥
I have been wondering for years if Chad would ever make it onto Tiny Desk!
Well this is just lovely.
Wow. Great introduction to a great song writer. i need to learn/hear more!
You are the best mood of all my daysss💛 with love💕
This is great. I missed the violin on Horse Comanche.
I love everyone says it’s “just another hipster band”..Dispatch was around and awesome before hipsters were even a thing.
Boston Commons baby!!!
I actually laughed when I read the description because I kept thinking how much his voice reminded me of Dispatch. Good stuff!
Get Gregory Alan Isokov or Modern Baseball to do this
Adam B +1 for Modern Baseball
Adam B I agree about Gregory Alan Isakov. They need to get him in there.
Adam B Gregory!! Love him
+Ty Hyten yessss

Who else wants State Radio record on vinyl?
If Mr. Stokes served in the USN or USCG, thank you for your service. If not, a uniform shirt is NOT a stage costume.
He is a general
What happened with Brad ? And dispatch? . Don't get me wrong I think this is good anyways
They are touring now!!!!
The guy in white T, looks like Seth Avett
man, Tom Hanks wrote a few great songs with all the time he spent cast away on that island eh?
I heard he stole his lyrics from Wilson
How old is the lead singer? I can't guess all that well with the beard.
ebrad009 39, I actually saw a show on his birthday!
Sounds a lot like Spoon to me.
Why is he playing a lefty guitar? seems like stolen valor.
Sorry, Bob Boilen, I just don't see the Simon/McCartney comparison here.
bill mullarky I agree, but it's still a nice sound. A cool group of well bearded fellows.
I think B side of Avett Brothers is more accurate.
No comparison... most successful indie band of all time
PO2 needs an undershirt, a shave, and a haircut.
What In the hipster
Sad that they sold out. This thing is basically a Hugo Boss commercial
claufman95 But you are still watching it, and commenting. And I've replied, feel validated much?
Explain? Or did this not age well? State Radio, Dispatch, The Pintos??? Great albums all around
Bland hipster crap.
Where's your videos?
