Hi Sourabh, your concern is right, Since big corner radius has two benefits, More strength and more finish, But It comes with one drawback which is More cutting forces will generate, but when u are using small corner radius your cutting forces will reduce and vibration will be less but cusp height will increase. But by reducing the feed rate, we can reduce the cusp height and get good finish. That is the reason, you will se the the feed rate will be very less while finishing. This is how we maintain, less cutting forces and more finish. but theoretically, big corner radius always give more finish then small corner radius. but it was a good point. But sir I have a doubt. In our workshop We use 0.8 insert for rough boring. And 0.4 for Finish boring in vmc.
