This is the best visualization of a differential that I’ve ever seem. Absolutely awesome!

That paper turn is really neat way of showing the differential working.

The best demo of differential yet...

A standard differential is great for handling but sucks for traction, as all the power goes to the wheel with the least resistance (the fastest turning wheel). Limited slip differentials are more complex, heavy and as a result more expensive. Two of those are generally frowned upon in biking circles. For Trikes and Quads, a Freewheel differential is usually the best solution.

🤓Differential shown in video is a "Free Wheel differential". Frank Miller. TumtumCarKit Co

@Frank Miller ??? It shows all the attributes of a normal differential. With a freewheel differential if you hold one wheel all the torque goes to that wheel, ie. all torque goes to the wheel with the most traction.
A freewheel differential uses two freewheel clutches, like those found in a single speed bike freewheel. They can be pawl or roller clutches, I've seen both used as differentials.

Did you made the differential on the bike yourself or is a ready made part
I’d love to learn more about that… hoping to build something similar

Many cars don't use diferential. Could you explain me how this added weight is worth? Wheels are way closer and speed is way lower than any car. Wouldn't be easier to have a splited axle?

BUYER BEWARE! These "cars" are so poorly designed that you cannot even pedal or drive them without the front wheels jamming into the pedals every time you try to turn the car. Mine was delivered 8 months late, arrived in the dead of winter, and I wasn't able to even determine how non-functional it was until summer. I have asked them to return my money, and they have refused. The shifting mechanism doesn't align well, and the drive chain routinely falls off during operation. The throttle is hyper-sensitive, making it quite difficult to regulate the speed. The brakes don't stop very well, and the handlebars were impossible to tighten. Again, BUYER BEWARE!

😄Our respected customer Patrick Dieter got the 72V Pedal-Electric Tumtumcar in January. After riding it for 9 months, in September, he realized, its a "non-functional" vehicle. His emails on record, tell a different story, and are available for review. Frank Miller. Tumtumcar Company Arizona.

@@frankmiller1193 I stand by my final assessment. The vehicle you delivered me was not usable as a pedaled car, for the reasons I described. Even a slight turn of the front wheels caused the pedal to foul in the spokes, and it was barely possible to hold the pedals out of the way when using the electric power.
As for the late time frame, you delivered the unit to me in JANUARY IN WISCONSIN. The temps were sub-zero, and it was the dead of winter for many months after that. The roads weren't even clear enough to try the car out until summer that year. The unit was delivered MANY MONTHS LATE, and I had to nag you via email to even get a progress report. I know what the climate is like in Arizona, and I suppose maybe you have no concept of what 40 below feels like. Nevertheless...
You blew me off. I told the truth. LIVE WITH IT.
