What a beauty. And how she suffered. She spoke of what few of us could ever express. Thank you, Nico, for giving us an outlet.

Frozen Warnings, in a special class of intensity and darkness and in my mind as powerful and similar in intensity to John Martyn's Solid Air, Sandy Denny's Autopsy and Jackson C.Frank's I Want to be Alone and Leonard Cohen's You Want it Darker.

She wouldn't be an obvious support act for Siouxsie & the Banshees except for the Velvet Underground connection I guess.

This reminds me of an interview with the sublime Judee Sill (early 1970's) who quipped she wanted to be able to find a way to do her work and make a living without opening for rockers and their obnoxious audiences.
