Peacock butterflies on red clover

There were hundreds of these struggling with the gusty wind - and had congregated in a more sheltered area by the hedge.
There were also numerous Painted Ladies, but they seem to be stronger and would invariably take off when I got near,

Masses of them this year and Painted Ladies too. I have had a few Meadow blue in the garden too. marvellous to see them
