This song takes me back to the love of my life, the one that got away! We met at Salsa classes and I fell for her immediately. I was raising a child from a previous relationship and this girl, Deanna, had her own family dramas going on but we were strong together. We were like best friends, not just lovers. We dated a few years but our troubles caught up with us, especially my drinking and weed smoking. Towards the end when things were rocky, one day she came home from a hard day's work, it was a hot summer afternoon, to find me, unemployed at the time and smoking a joint blowing smoke out our apartment window. I was fat at the time and my stomach was hanging over the front of my basketball shorts, the back of the shorts were hanging halfway down my ass. She sat on the couch looking at me with my red eyes and stupid grin. I saw disgust in her face, I knew we weren't going to make it from her look. We broke up not long after.
