In a country like india where mother father plus 2 to 3 kids travel on motorbike /scooter for them considering safety an upgrade to alto espresso, santro , kwid or wagon r will be much safer...

@@Ravi-jy4fb safety depends on drivers but for accidents which is not in your control, then your car should be able to withstand it to give you a chance of survival, then Suzuki will be making tin boxes even now. So this argument is not fully acceptable and I believe driving weak cars in highways is not an issue but drivers should be aware of it and drive accordinly, in that case your point is valid.

My used corolla altis met with an accident. We were going anywhere between 60_80. The build quality was good and all 5 of our lives were saved. Its my cousin mistake while driving in the narrow KL roads. Safe driving and safe cars is all we required now in India. Road manners matters alot . Learned hardest car lessons in the last 3 weeks😢

Yes asir bro now it's not about weight, it's about the materials used, they talk about the high tensile steel used and where it's used and percentage of steel used.
Some example are : the seltos sold here till now is not the seltos that's sold abroad, there is discrepancies between the high tensile steel used in India.
Another example is, fronx seems to do better in crash, and it's kerb weight is less than sonet or a venue, am not saying venue is bad, and fronx is based on the famous heart tect platform, and it seems to do well with the modifications they did to the latest heartect platform
And as for airbags, a structurally unstable car cannot save people only with 6 airbags alone
Same applicable for suzuki swift..here in sg, swift build quality is different from India swift

While talking about safety features of the car, 5 star status, 6 air bags, you are rightly pointed about the safe driving. Thank you. Some years back, I heard in New Delhi, music system also banned. Every one of us are very clear about the mobile phone speech during driving. How can Android/Apple car play is allowed in the car by the manufacturer, handsfree! Whether the Govt can nothing to do with the car manufacturer? Is Handsfree mobile phone talking is safe? Also I find headlight modification and high powerful music system with subwoofers are going on. To my point safe travel on road is doubtful. Tyre modification than the specified is also affect the safe riding of the car. If possible make a podcast in this aspect also. As you said responsible driving is essential. Car crash is governed by following major factors.
1. Speed of the vehicle.
2. Stopping distance
3. Driver’s response and intellect.
4. Effective breaking system.
5. Road condition.
Influence of Science (for simple explanation)
1. Moment of inertia of the moving vehicles or body.
2. Impulse force.( stopping force)
The impulse force possessed by the body (ie, loaded Autoriksha) which is responsible for the damage in the car.
Impulse force varies with respect of time.
High time lag will lead to soft or minimal impulsive force, therefore minimal damage.
Low time lag will lead to hard or maximum impulse force, therefore maximum damage.
*Rigid body will have high impulsive force
*Body in motion will have low impulse force.
To experience this in real-do a small activity at home.
Take two eggs and Stand away- Throw one on the wall and other on the towel which is hanged loosely.
Egg thrown on the wall will explode and other one will fall safe on the soft ground
wall has high impulse force and it won’t give time lag.
Towel will travel a little, along the direction of the thrown egg, and time taken for the towel to travel is considered as time lag. Hence the egg is unbroken.
Now, time lag for the car is governed by
1. Sight distance ( Ability to spot the hurdle)
2. stopping distance ( driver intellect response + effective brakes)
3. Design speed of the road.
Incident in the video- High Speeding car hits the slow Autoriksha. Here auto is rigid with respect to the speeding car.
Hence Autoriksha has low time lag and high impulsive force.
So, any car will have similar damage irrespective of brands.
Rather low speed and seat belt will safeguard us from accidents, not the fancy brands.

MW team, for your understanding, 'Structure Unstable' in gncap crash test means, the car may not be able to take further more impacts after the first impact, although it protected the inhabitants (dummies) well. That is, If those cars met with an secondary impact after the initial impact it might affect the inhabitants. Not only Triber, 5 star rated new Hyundai Verna too has received that mention.
That's means high speed crash la, that car is unpredictable,

Asir bro one point Verna got 5 star but gncap mentioned structure unstable beyond further load , kudos to hyundai but comparatively Slavia and a virtus was rated stable. In crash I don't know how these will translate. But in bncp of harrier, safari I didn't see any structural rigidity mentioned. The report was so simple compared to a gncap or the other ncaps.
And scorpio N got 40 pecent for adult protection in Australian ncap, it's not just about ADAS,
It's said the side airbag does not gets extended to the third row etc.
And for creta and seltos I expect it to get 5 stars, but structure might be unstable, and I don't know if Bncap will mention it.
Sir..no comments on Scorpio n please...asir sir met velu sir once..and he bragged about it a little..so Scorpio n is safe no matter what the Australian n cap says...or if a man looses his leg after Scorpio n s ball joint broke and it's front wheel came off...

There are three different dummies available for adult crash testing. 5% percentile , 50 % percentile & 95% percentile dummy . For most of the crash test they go with 50% percentile dummy and it weights around 75kg.

New generation alto k10 good safety car 2 star rating and body structure stable but tata Tiago 4 star rating and body structure unstable
Even I felt imbalanced with the Skoda Kushaq.2022 model . Maruti Dzire 2018 model in the High ways while overtaking a Truck..
I remember Mr. Nitin Gadkari issued a statement that the government won’t implement six airbags a mandatory after the launch of Bharat NCAP. The reason is one of the prerequisites of Bharat NCAP to receive a five star rating it should be with a six airbag. So it is upto the OEM’s to decide whether they want to give it or not.
And as I said above, 6 airbags is meaningless if the structure is weak or unstable like in Verna for an extent

@@gokulabalaji9623 agreed but the irony I see in a engineering point of view is that, hyundai are known for its giving up its build for features, later gncap gave importance equal importance to air bags and adas etc, but it still mentioned in comments if "structure is unstable", and oems started to engineer cars for passing ncaps, so Verna got 5 star, but gncap mantioned that the body shell was unstable beyond further loading, whether bncap will mention these in the upcoming cars I dont know

The vitara has a modest power figures of 103hp and a 136nm, for hills you might need to work it up, since it's a NA 4 cylinder you might need have a better traction at the low end than the turbo but it's still a bit under powered. And not free revving like a hyundais 1.5 NA
As for the c3 it's the same engine that's doing its work in the c3 hatchback, yes it has the class leading torque of 190nm among the three cylinder turbo heads but have you have to keep the turbo lag in mind, and the turbo wakes up at 1800-2000 rpm, so you need to keep the turbo Boiling
I might be inclined the choose the c3 here, and am OK with the turbo lag

My car ford ecosport was affected in chennai flood..I bought in 2016..estimation given by the Ford service center is 6 lakhs without engine, my Insurance IDV value is 4.15 lakhs..they told it's a total loss....please let us know if we should repair or get the IDV and buy new car, please suggest
