Sometimes allergies kick in later in life. My daughter started with allergies to avocado when she was 30 years old.

The allergy could be from the avocado in the guac. Allergies can present itself at older ages. And also it can go away in a few years. Avocado and Mangoes are in the same category
It could also be that she ate too much histamine containing ingredients. That can cause an allergic reaction.

I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for what you do, your videos always make me smile so much. I hope your mom is doing well. I also wanted to say (not to be a downer), but my shellfish allergy didn't show up until my mid-late 20's, so it could have been the shrimp. I hope that's not what it was, but something to consider for sure.

Maybe the shrimp is causing the allergic reaction. I’ve have two friends become allergic to shrimp as adults. But it can also be anything of course. Just make sure to always have allergy meds handy from now on.

Shrimp 🍤 Allergies can happen after many years of eating the same thing but I bet it’s the shrimp. One thing you should be concerned about is subsequent exposure to the allergen can worsen and become more severe. I hope you had a wonderful time. Maybe consider getting an allergy panel in your free time. I love your vlogs btw. Bird was cracking me up. ❤❤❤

You can have a hyperacute allergic reaction when you consume seafood that has been improperly stored. Not an allergy to shrimp per se, but the microbes that it’s contaminated with (or their toxins). Also, can be allergic to preservatives that are sometimes used to prevent shrimp from changing color (when it’s not fresh shrimp that’s being used in the food). Common when eating shrimp, since it’s so frequently used in restaurants high and low.

Oh no! I hope u find out what caused the reaction. Every 7 years ur cells “reset” and new allergies can come with that. At 14 I developed a severe allergy to tomatoes and now 12 years later still can’t eat them. My allergy has actually just gotta worse with the year. I have an epipen but I also always have kids liquid Benadryl because it’s a lot faster reacting then normal allergy meds. I try not to use my epipen
I second this my allergies showed up around 21-22 and my allergist’s office told me to always carry liquid Benadryl and it’s truly come in handy 💯💯

I would speak to your doctor, even better specifically an allergist if you have one. Those are a lot of ingredients you listed off. They would probably want you to do a food challenge test for each individual ingredient. Meaning you just eat the individual ingredient, even a spice, and wait x amount of minutes to see if you get an allergic reaction. Log everything. Hope you are able to get to the bottom of what caused the allergic reaction!

Not that it solves all problems ... but I pack a pair of wood chopsticks (usually the disposable ones from restaurants) in my luggage, for situations when you need utensils. I tried plastic forks and 'sporks' - but they keep on breaking. And of course airport security isn't keen on the Swiss army knives (there are some that include forks and spoons).

Vidcon somersault! You might have had an allergic reaction to the pineapple! Same thing happened to me. It doesn't always happen every time I eat pineapple.. just once in a blue moon. It happens with mango too but rarely. Always helps to keep the allergy meds on hand! Glad you two had so much fun! ❤️
YES! when pineapples aren't properly peeled, there can be some of the seeds in it, they are not ingestqble for humans !

Girl get an allergy test done when you get home. I developed a shellfish allergy in my late 20s and it's been a landmine trying not to eat things with allergens. My test said I can still eat crab, oyster, squid, and 🐟, but every other shellfish is off limits.

VidCon Somersaults! Yikes… your allergic reaction has me very nervous! I’m allergic to most tropical fruits; as of now I’m ok with avocados & bananas; everything else is a no. So watching your videos does make say “I wonder what that tastes like; lol?!? As I’ve gotten older; pineapple is the latest thing that I can’t eat, though it was mild… it gives me a scratchy throat, but not taking any chances. Btw; I found all this out when I discovered I was allergic to latex rubber products. Another great video. Can’t wait for Tango to drop… pre-saving now ❤😊🎉

My daughter has been eating shellfish for years( she is 35)One day she was eating Alaskan King Crab legs and had a huge allergic reaction. Her lips swelled, her throat swelled, she was itchy, got hives.
It was crazy! She now needs a EPI pen if it was to happen again.

So this isn't meant to bad mouth the restaurant at all you could have been allergic to something. However if a food item is expired or had gone I guess "bad" per say it can give you an allergic reaction, the same thing happened to me at a Starbucks. I ordered a latte and i had a reaction even though I've had it before and still currently drink it. If an item in your meal was expired or gone bad it can give you an allergic reaction so that might have been your case. Thank goodness you took allergy meds > -

I would say the allergic reaction was from the shrimp. I'm not allergic to shrimp but every once out of the blue I will get a reaction. My doctor said its not the shrimp per se but what the shrimp eats from where it is from. ie I get allergic reaction from Dungeness crab from California but not those from the Pacific Northwest. Different diets...BTW haha I m not a doctor just sharing some info and personal knowledge. Glad it didn't ruin things......aloha.

Reactions like that can be very dangerous you have also just gone through alot of stress between your mama and the car accident 🤔 your body was likely more sensitive due to all the extra stress.
I would recommend speaking with your doctor about the symptoms that occured and see if they need to run an allergy test.
Im glad you are alright and yhat you had a good time. Hopefully the good times will keep coming and everyone will be happy and healthy.

someone i know developed a seafood allergy in their 30s after being able to eat seafood their whole life before, so it might be the shrimp! they might have also cooked ingredients in allergens like peanut oil? i hope you can figure out what caused the allergy!

Just wanted to comment regarding food allergies. I have a chef friend who developed shellfish allergies in his late 20’s. I also have a cousin who had a coconut allergy when she was a kid. She started to get over it in her mid 20’s. You never know with food allergies. If there was something you haven’t eaten in a while, you may want to get tested. 😊😊😊😊😊

Allergy might be from shrimp! I've eaten shrimp my entire life and LOVE it, but in just the last month, shrimp has made my lips swell up / mouth itchy :( Try eating some of the taco ingredients separately to see if any cause a reaction (with allergy meds nearby!)
I recently started an allergy to avocado/guacamole bc it’s in the same tree family as other trees/pollen I’m allergic to… so it could be the guac 🥑 😢
