Cancelling this show was a crime.
The show wasn't perfect, but it's the one show that I absolutely love and nobody knows. The sound design, ambients, camera work, the visuals, the actors, and most of the script. I can still quote entire segments of this show after only having seen it 2 times. I think this show is just too dark and requires too much attention of the regular audience for it to get the viewing it needed. Unlike house of cards, the actors play 'real' in this universe, so there's no Kevin Spacey talking you through his motions and breaking the 4th wall. Every single character seems to act as a real person would if they were within that framework, with that mindset. Things happen and pieces are moving and unless you pay attention, you will not be signposted to it. The inner workings of the machine seem to go on, inconsequential and uninterested in the viewer. That's what I really enjoyed about this. This show definitely lends itself to multiple viewings. Every time you notice different things. And yes, Grammar is absolutely amazing in this, he carries every scene.
Another cable network should have picked up this show, like HBO or Netflix! I just don't understand why they canceled this show.
Not enough audience I guess, sometimes quality doesn't pay off sadly. It's a shame really.

I loved this show. It was cancelled way too soon because of falling ratings. What bothers me is that another season probably would have gotten better ratings given the chance. Kelsey was so awesome in this show; actually, all the actors were.

at 2:00 the script takes its inspiration from a great scene from Peter Greenaway's 'The Belly of an Architect' in which a young doctor tells Brian Dennehy how long he has to live...

This had the potential to be amazing. Starz gave up on this too soon. Shame. Great cast of actors.
Just finished watching this series season 1 and 2 amazing job from Kelsey Grammer. Almost fitting that Frasier who always was trying to mix it up with the elites in a comedy show gets to play this role. Need a season 3 and more. They left it open for one. Hits pretty close to the truth about establishment machine. What establishment machine? watch it :) The only thing that would have been better is to have Sam and Woody running the pub.

From 1:25-1:50, there is a music track I have been looking into for the longest time. I can't find it the name of it anywhere, it doesn't seem to be on the series OST...does anyone know the name of this track and where it can be found?
I don't know what beat that is but a similar instrumental is "Lose Yourself by Eminem".
True, it is similar. But it's weird, because it is on the background music for the DVD menus for Season 1, but there's no listing of the song anywhere. Good luck trying to Shazam/Soundhound it too....just at a loss for what it is.

From being known as everyone's favorite psychiatrist to a corrupted mayor. Grammer could've been the next Bryan Cranston with this show. Travesty this got canceled.
