Exactly. That's why there were so many toys shown in the next scene. Meaning, so many toys believed and worshipped the Prototype. Man, Catnap has attracted quite a following. Anyways, nice joke. Hahahahahah!
The first part of the music shows how all the toys lived in harmony after the hour of joy, they then started to slowly get insane from realizing the atrocities they did and their isolation and physical and mental conditions. All those facts slowly led all of them to get quite unstable which shows how they all can get really aggressive with each other and the player when the character we play actually comes to the facility 10 years later.
to be honest, knowing they were children (yes and some possibly factory workers) it must have really taken a toll on their mental stability, having thousands- no, more than thousands of people die in that factory in their hands and soon realizing not everything is solved by that and they'd still have to live in suffering? yeah its fucked up

It explains the emotions behind the souls of the toys, meaning that even though the toys are free, they are not free from the horrors within the factory, and that they want to return as children, but they can't.

I just realized that Poppy feels so much like the "good guy" in this franchise because she never really smiles that much, whereas every other villain/victim/creature/toy is always smiling, contrasting what you're used to seeing "good guys" and "bad guys" do. Having details like that be flipped really adds to the discomfort and unnaturalness of the whole franchise.

That’s the thing though. The reason the “Villains” of the franchise are always shown with large smiles is (at least from what I gathered from the story so far) that the children that were experimented on were forced to wear those plastered smiles over their faces. On the outside they may look like monsters, but on the inside they’re just scared, innocent children who would stop at nothing to be free from whatever made them like this in the first place.
But the thing is, kissy smiles and she is a "good guy", so that means it doesnt really matter

At first I felt the beat was a bit too "pop music" and that it doesn't fit. But later on I i started to like it. His voice goes between happy and a mix of bitterness, also love the children voices, they are a great adition to the song, since it's about them.
Seeing how Catnap acts here makes me sad about his end. He could have a saving arc.
This is the song I cried the most in my life, it's beautiful too and this video made me cry even more, when that part of all toys walking together and the lyrics in this part is "We want freedom! Freedom! Freedom, freedom, freedom!" and that vocal make all even deeper. I can understand these children, all we wanted would be a good childhood

Later on though he started killing them? The people who were also working under the prototype are labeled as heretics to him? Or is catnap really just sadistic, Ollie tells us that catnap “lives for the hunt” so it would make sense that the only thing he cares about is the prototype specifically, and the prototype allows catnaps killing because he’s so powerful that it would be a waste to kill him. If we were to combine what I’ll call the songs lore (catnap gathering toys for the hour of joy) with the games lore (catnap living for the hunt) it might be that catnap was just manipulating the toys to join him without him actually caring about them.

I appreciate the fact that Poppy is like the only one that seems actually traumatized and horrified of everything that the prototype caused, even when she knows Playtime Co deserved it, but not the other innocents in the hour of joy

It's more interesting when you also included the fact she look more humane than the other. As if to punctuate that there's a part of humanity still left in her than the rest of the toy we see.
That's why I think Elliot Ludwig is inside Poppy. The nonsense and cruelty started after Sawyer came into play and Elliot "disappeared".
I mean, the fact she is behind his freaking office door is also a huge clue - but of everyone in the company, he seemed to have actual values and care for others. It was Leith and Harley who decided that profits were better than people from what we know.
I have every confidence Elliot would have been against the slaughter of everyone indiscriminately.
I think the prototype is Rich. He is known to be angry and violent - plus he cares about the children. He just approached this far differently than Elliot would have. He killed everyone, whereas I think Elliot would have spared the innocent.

I just realized something. Other than in-universe promotion and Mob Game's special "blink-and-you-miss-it" background scares, Catnap himself doesn't actually appear a whole lot in the chapter. He can't even kill you until the end of the game. Yet you still feel like he's a constant theat, because you're basically in his den, and he knows it since you see him just before the gamplay starts.

This is probably because catnap is known to stalk his pray, making them fear him, and then making us vulnerable, until he kills us, which in this case, failed as the player beat him in the end

Not counting the open commercials, you first meet Mommy after meeting up with Poppy, Huggy is similar since you first meet him after getting the Grab-Pack and entering the Factory. But in Chapter 3, you meet Catnap in the first cutscene. Just before the gameplay starts, so he's the freshest in your mind before you start.

2:40 is probably the saddest, happiest and most terrifying scene in this entire video because just the fact all the toys look so cheerful about what their doing and yet you still feel bad for them because of the tone of the lyrics the fact that their saying “we want freedom” is so heart breaking and then just the horror on poppys face afterwards is just spine chilling man well made, absolute master piece of a video capturing all 3 emotions in a single video you feel bad for their poor souls trapped in the toys, you feel the horror of what it must have felt for the humans seeing toys trying to kill them and you feel the kids joy when their just trying to achieve their goal of just being free from the constant experiments and constant nightmares of knowing they’ll never be human again.

He fulfilled his dream, namely making his god stronger.

Theo was electrocuted, 1006 saved him and with the employee's help gave life to Catnap.
The player electrocuted Catnap, 1006 came and took Catnap's life.
I believe they actually bonded and were friends.
To think that Theo was badly injured (suffered mentally and physically) deeply influenced his "life" as a Catnap. He was nothing but a shell, the only good thing in his life was his bond with 1006. And when he was badly injured as Catnap, 1006 gave him cold mercy. Just "You left a long time ago, but still thank you for your hard work".
The hour of liberty, the best hour they got in their whole lives kinda sad but hopeful in a weird way they are free...but what now?

This song really captures the ten years between the Hour of Joy and the start of the game. The false freedom they enjoy, the kindness they show eachother to try and be better than their handlers, knowing that it'll fall into disrepair as soon as the food will run out (Miss Delight being an early example), trying to find comfort in this silent world that only Poppy can see it for what it truly is : the same prison, only the walls are painted with blood now.
The final shot with Huggy is most telling. He is standing near the entrance, he could run out if he wanted to, ram the doors open and run along. But they have nowhere to belong outside. They took the humans by surprise in the factory, they know how vicious they can be if they're prepared. And most importantly, he knows, they all know, that if they don't escape fast enough, or if they try coming back to this place where they belong, then they'll be skewered on the spot, added to the mad monster they listened to for this brief time of bliss.
They're *HIS* toys now. If he wants to break them for new ones, he'll do it. And he *loves* breaking them.

you articulated my thoughts waaay better! this song and the videos are so devastating they did a great job showing us what the kids'/employees' perspectives were. (also, i just thought, the part when catnap was scratching the floor abt the time/s the prototype was his friend, maybe it was him trying to justify what they did because he was probably feeling the guilt of taking everybody's lives).

the chorus makes me think that its the prototype singing the song. he thinks he's a fraud because he sparked the idea of creating sentient toys from living creatures (if he is Elliot Ludwig). also the facade of "the hour of joy". making them believe that the slaughter would bring them freedom, when it just made their cage bigger. also "we just wanted to heal, but now our nightmares are real" could be Elliot lamenting over how his experiments to bring back his adopted daughter's life costed so many more.

CatNap jumping like an actual cat made me smile for some reason
You can see that in Chapter 3 during the counselor's office section, in a room you can't go in there's a small Bunzo walking and then falling, CatNap the pounces on him and leaves with that same jump.

The prototype was Theo's friend even before he became Catnap. and Theo remembers this. we see this from his drawing. and although the drawing looks like it depicts a monster under the bed, this monster is closer to him than the people around him. Yes, now you can interpret events in different ways, but once upon a time the Prototype really cared about children. Well, at least about one of them.

This song feels so eerie, sad, and beautiful because it is contrasting both the immediate exhilaration and freedom of the Hour of Joy, and the slow descent into madness as they realized what they'd done and the fact they were still trapped in these bodies, incapable of true freedom. The hour of Joy was a wonderful dream come true, but eventually they had to wake up.

The eerie vibes this franchise gives is unique like when Fnaf was first released, the perfect duality of clashing perspectives really makes you questions what's actually "evil", obviously there's a bad guy but not the monster/toys and I really support the idea that we were someone who not only worked at the factory but actually ran our own department involved with the children
I have an idea that we might be playing as Elliott himself. Or, at least, I think it would be pretty cool if we played as the one who started Playtime co, coming back to it to see what has happened to his beloved company, and the sins he has caused.
That would make sense either he was someone in a high position or he works in different parts of play time co cuz pretty much anyone who can talk say they recognize him so maybe a co founder or a supervisor that oversees everything happening in the building

Im not sure if anyone else thinks this, but considering that this is an official song, there has to be lore in this.
In the beginning, Cg5 sings by himself for a long solo before he is joined by the other kids. I think its safe to assume that it represents the Prototype, or Catnap, talking to the other toys and kids, encouraging them that they need to stick together and rebell against the employees preforming these horrible experiments on them. The fact that the kids join the chorus after his solo proves that the toys were on board, backing up the prototype and meeting to have the "Hour of Joy".
Im sure everyone can figure that out on their own though. I am a little curious on what Poppy is doing in all this, though. When we first see her, she turns to look at the camera, almost in a curious glance. Then we next see her, she runs towards the camera reaching to grab the camera as if she is trying to save someone. Then, we see her traumatized, next to blood being splashed on the wall.
I have two theories: One, is that she originally supported the Hour of Joy, or the idea of it, before it occured. But, when she sees the true damage, the killing of innocents, she realizes that this is a big mistake. She tries to save someone, presumably one of the innocent, but the person gets killed, probably by Huggy. She then stands next to the dead body, traumatized.
My second theory is that she never knew about the plan for the Hour of Joy in the first place. The first scene of her could also depict her confusion on why all the toys are gathering, soon seeing what they were planning. Same as the top part, she tries to save someone, fails, and left traumatized and mourn the innocent by whoever killed the person.
Either way, she argues against the others after the Hour of Joy took place, that it was a mistake and should have never happened. We all know what happens next: The Prototype puts her in the glass box, with all of the toys watching, to serve as a warning to anyone who goes against him. And she stays there until us, the Player, come back to the company after 10 years..

The hour of joy is already recapped by Poppy where all the toys gone wild thanks to the influence of The Prototype, but one thing is very clear-it is also the start of the pieces to be put back together of our character.
What was the reason of him coming back to the factory? If the Hour of Joy existed, why weren't there any news of it outside the factory? Who manipulated the media and well-being of humanity to just forget of the human lives taken away by the toys, as if they can just simply erase their memories of the lives lost in the facility? Is it because of the CatNap's gas? Is it the manipulation of The Prototype?
