Sucks that this first film showed the first order as ruthless and dark and then General Hux was nerfed and was the "mole" in the first order and used as a comedic relief. I remember watching this first movie and thinking "it's not great but the first order has some great possibilities" but then they just destroyed everything.

Makes the first order look like the super scary space nazis they are supposed to be. The dark tones with red from the starkiller base and kylos saber with the quick cuts just make it soo intense.

I stand by the fact that Episode 7 was fun and I enjoyed the hell out of it even before 8 and 9 came out. I think if JJ or Johnson (terrible directors though they can be) had been given the full trilogy instead of the weird director swap just for 8, then it might not have been so bad overall. If you want to just cry yourself to sleep, look up the scripts for Episode 9 that got leaked cause some of it was super cool
