Old fans hate it cause it’s not the same heavy sound they’re use to. But as someone once said before, bands change over time. And no one seems to understand this. Fans need to understand that the band likes creating new sound for all to enjoy and what they feel comfortable with. It’s not just making the fans happy, but themselves as well.

@@Flamegirl163 the strange thing is just that most bands that "evolve" and changes their style are getting more electronic and pop music-like. i think that's pretty interesting, maaaybe it has something to do with staying relevant for the masses, but what do i know...
@@StarmaGeddon This could be a selection bias though. If you prefer "heavier" bands then you would mostly listen to those and notice that some drift toward more pop-like music, and wrongly conclude that it happens in general. But since you don't listen to pop bands, you wouldn't notice that some of those also drift toward metal/rock over time.

the band likes creating new sound for all to enjoy and what they feel comfortable with. It’s not just making the fans happy, but themselves as well. The band is doing excellent work. As fans, you should be supporting them, not bashing them for changing. If you don’t like it, there’s other bands out there to listen to. I hope this band continues to amaze me ❤️

I don't know what to say. It really sounds like those pseudoinspirational songs they use for a car commercial. It saddens me that apparently we're very much living in a world where people is more prone to be inspired (and therefore buy) this type of poppy and unimaginative musical styles.

Like others in this comments, I've been a huge fan from 2008, i'm 27, i'm italian, i grew up with ETF ..of course i'm a fan of the old heavy stuff because i've a metal background from before (but i'm not close metalhead) and i need to do a reflection for myself that i want to do from ungrateful, but every time i waited.
Maybe i had a distorted view from my little country...but from the first listen to their music , i understand the extreme talent of all the members and the spark that they had in that days. i'm not here to talk about "how the old days were amazing and bla bla bla..." ,no! the time passes and people change, this is fine. i understand all the problems had with members that we all know from Max and so on... personal problems as far as we fans can know, but....i've been waiting for 7/8 years, maybe for my stupidity to hear something with a little bit of that spark after the Ungrateful album, because i knew the amazing talent of the band, until today. I'm not mad, i've 3 amazing album for me that i can listen until i die and i'm proud of those.
But it comes naturally now ask me questions about your inspiration...not only in general about the concept of the songs ,but also about the lyrics and music. I state that for me Craig is one of the most talented singer both vocally and stage presence of the genre. Something it's off in this last albums for me, i CAN'T and i DON'T want to talk about the next of couse before listen to the full album. I think the lyrics are so generic and i think that this for many of us has the opposite effect that it shoud have, instead of relating more with the songs i' ve the opposite, i can't relate with nothing in deep way. Musically i think the same for me it's flat e less inspired, i can't catch any emotions....i don't know ...maybe i'm the usual alternative head that need to feel different from the mass, but i've always listen to music that can make me try different emotion. i'm happy for the new fans that like the new albums, but i think that many old fans can agree that seeing all their talent stuck ,hurts. i just hope that this is really their decision and not external...hope the best for them.
Yes dude! They can have a new sound, not going to sound like 2009. But the last albums have been so boring, so uninspired. Like it 100% feels like they're just phoning it in. I liked Not My Problem, it was a good song. But the rest of the album so far is just utterly forgettable. All their albums since ungrateful have had a couple ok songs, with the rest being boring filler. I don't even know what they do at this point, but I guess they'll keep milking it until there's no one left listening. A disappointing ending to a band with so much talent.

I miss the old 2010 Escape the fate with their self Titled album. Those are my best memories... so far this album isn't just personally doing it for me. I liked two songs so far on this album, I have hope for this album.. I will just have to see when the album comes out.
I feel like there’s people who are mostly a fan of the specific band, and other the specific genre. Then when bands do something a bit different some of those “genre only fans” get upset (best example I have is papa roach 🤣)
However I’ve been listening to Escape The Fate for YEARS and I’ll just continue with that 🥰
