What a fantastic home. It made me think the owners had maybe some inherited wealth as well. All that plasterwork, a coffered ceilings and elegance didn’t come cheap. The carving on the older outbuildings said, “ In the year of our Lord 1732”. Wow. Thanks for taking us there!
Imagine owning this place? It would be your own rustic sanctuary. Awesome building and beautiful grounds! I love it! The music was cool as well. Nice chilled out vibes. Thank you Sam and Jess xx
This place is absolutely magnificent! It breaks my heart that it’s just falling into rubble. I am so grateful that you are documenting it. Made me extremely nervous with you guys walking around. I had to breathe a sigh of relief when you got out. The ceilings were unbelievable! Wow if it’s from the 1700s no wonder it’s falling apart. Sam you are unbelievably nimble! What a beautiful vineyard. Those people had immense wealth. Oh yeah she’ll get phenomenal views with the drone. The vineyards definitely looks like they’re being tended to. They’re all trimmed. The music is so nice and really lends itself to this piece. It sounds a little bit like Walk off the Earth. Boy I bet it was beautiful when it was all in use. Thank you so much for this video. Really really enjoyed it. I really really wish I had the money to give you. I so enjoyed all the pieces that you do. Sam you’re such an incredible storyteller as well. This was one of my favorites as well I believe. I wanted to tell you guys happy Thanksgiving. Not sure if you celebrate but I just wanted to say that I am grateful for you and your talents. Sending my love to both of you as always💜🤗😎☮️🇺🇸🤟🏻😘
This was one of your best ones yet! The architecture of the ceilings was beautiful. All the windows that let in abundant sunshine and great views. And that balcony... can you imagine sitting there after a long day of harvesting and having a glass of the very wine you produced and watch the sun set. I'm a huge fan of staircases and this did not disappoint! Thanks again for yet another great explore! Love you guys!
Sam you're right this was 'the real deal' Fantastic drone shots 💯 You guys smashed it in Croatia now smashing it Portugal 🇵🇹 Love from a very cold London ❤💙
Each place you and Jess share is like a new adventure through timeless magic. I'm so grateful for all that you do. You're awesome, all of you. 🍷✌️ Cheers.
Hi Sam and jess amazing place you can see how grand this wine makers house was, lovely architecture and stunning views around this area, such a shame to see it decaying away this must have been a very wealthy family living here. Great explor and video
3:30 Crikey, those floors are completely shot! 4:30 … and they’re not getting any better! 6:50 Great details on that ceiling and, yes, I can hear church bells! 9:30 I’m checking Sam’s shoelaces again, but he’s tied them firmly! There were parts of that explore I was slightly uncomfortable with. Nothing in this world is 100% safe, but don’t get yourselves hurt! Take care! :) Are there more of these? I ask because I've never been to Portugal or Spain. The most popular European destinations for me were France and Italy, but I'd give Portugal a try for sure, going by this!
This place is truly paradise! Hey, Sam, Jess, what do you think? Would you live here if you could? I definitely try to. The gorgeous view alone would be worth waking up to every day. Sipping aged wine, watching sunsets. . . (Sigh) 😊 I could easily leave my heart here. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing this place.
This was definitely a very special video because that vineyard was absolutely magnificent!! All of that gorgeous old world charm!! It’s again such a pity it’s been left to decay but it’s still very special and stunning. You can see how glorious it looked in its heyday!! Thanks for a great video!! I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from Portugal!!!
I totally agree with Sam this is a fave of mine, it’s so amazing the beauty & wealth still shows itself through nature’s take over! Ya can imagine the big family all sitting after a hard days toil eating Portuguese wholesome dinners togeather over looking the vineyards! You both are the best urbex you tubers by far , loving the short stories of each abandoned building 💕👍🏻love n peace Sarah in Manchester xx🥰
The ceilings in this place look very Italian style as well. I thought possibly Venetian style wood carving. It's absolutely stunning this place and the view is breathtaking! I wonder why nobody ever tried to restore this gorgeous place.
Great video guys!! Could see you two living there!! Growing your own food! Sipping your own made wine and watching the sunset! Of course you’d need a new villa but you’d have to keep the beautiful ceilings!
Breathtaking! Even with the decay, this is the most beautiful combination of nature , family and business. I could go on and on but I think you can tell I loved this place. Thanks for taking me on the journey!
Another great video Sam & Jess, its a shame this hse is left to rot,it must have been beautiful in it's hey day, would have been nice to try the wine from here, the vineyard are amazing, look forwards to more video.
Well I can see exactly why, though the most decayed, this was your most favourite so far. Amazing place, the gardens were just beautiful and your timing for filming was brilliant, bringing out all the colours and spectacular scenery in such a beautiful way. Smellavision would have been great in these gardens! If only we could time travel back to when this was being lived and worked in so we could see it in all its glory.
Amazing location and explore thanks for bringing it to us you 2 are so respectful and capture the locations perfectly! Its hard to fathom the history of places like this in Europe, if the date on that wall is accurate this Farm was built 50 years before my Country was even discovered by Europeans ! Hard to get your head around that, and most of it is still standing! Wonder what happened to the family and why it was abandoned after all that history and success did the current generation just move on? If that was here it would be Heritage listed and possibly restored to its former glory! Would have been amazing to see it in its day! Great to see someone is still caring for the orchids and vineyards that fruit looked ripe! Maybe the family is still looking after the fruit but have just left the buildings go?
Watch properly now Family gone to their own homes. Lol. My word! The ceilings in that huge house are something out of this world. I can not believe these places are just left to rot probably due to being family quarrels. Such a waste. Those terraces would produce enough wine to keep everyone soused all year. The whole village! Fabulous - Thank you I guess someone is still wine producing. The terraces look well cared for! Oranges to die for. Wow. Much impressed XX Much Love Guys
I just love your filmmaking techniques and your narration of the places you visit. You're the best urban explorers on TH-cam. Thank you for your hard work.
Everything is beautiful. The video well made. Do you ever wonder how anything got done ? The ancient Egyptians had their beer ,they managed to build beautiful temples. Europe has wine and they built Cathedrals. I don't think wine and beer could have been very strong back then or there would have been a lot more leaning towers of Pisa 😂 There's a few vineyard's around my area but none has beautiful as that one on the hill. Did you try an orange fresh off the tree ? You will never want a shop bought one again. Thank you for taking me there. Lots of love and Blessed Be always 💖💖💖💖
@@nannyfairy Thanks for validating my reply. People considered wine as a safer option and didn't consider it as a form of intoxication. They probably didn't ferment it for long, therefore the alcohol content was negligible. It's easy to make a home brew. Select your favourite fruit juice and add a tiny amount of active dry yeast. Unscrew the top daily to release the gas and in two weeks you'll have a tasty low alcohol drink.
I was so engrossed in your video. It was so relaxing , watching the drone footage. As far as the mansion is concerned, i mean, wow !! Beautiful inside, lost to time. The decay of roofs and floors are a real shame. But, the cost of repair would be too much for anybody's purse. Again, i enjoy your video's. And the music was great too. Shared. xx
Love watching SpidermanSam climbing and sprinting over obstacles. Have to agree what beautiful ceilings they have in Portugal. Shame that building has been left to rot like it has. Jess you are looking really pretty in the sunshine. Thanks for sharing xx
This is definitely one of my favorites of your wonderful vlogs. I would love to know more about how such a beautiful, magnificent property would be allowed to fall into decay like this. Heartbreaking to see such loss but you have documented this beautifully ! The music excellent too. Thanks to you both for sharing this adventure !!
What a fantastic building. But the floors look truely bloody sketchy now. When you look at those ceilings imagine the craft and the artistry it's such as shame it won't last too much longer, then the only good records will be your video and photos, and those of other explorers. Have you considered 3d scanning, I know with phones with lidar they can work with apps to create a 3d scan you can then zoom in, rotate and give people a view of the rooms and details that would otherwise be physically impossible.
I could live there in a tent or an RV and be perfectly happy!! I felt like I was walking with you - and that sun setting on the whole place looked so refreshing. I want an orange now!
This is truly one of Sam & Jess's most magnificent finds. 'Tho it may seem so mysterious to come across this abandoned Portuguese winery, it's not surprising. Portugal is Spain's younger, poorer sister. Like so many spots in the global South, what looks like 'paradise' to us, is a poverty-stricken 'hell' for most of it's residents, which is why the Portuguese have been emigrating to Canada, the U.S.A., Australia, et al, for well over the past century and more. Especially from places like the Azores with it's dependence on farming & fishing. It's interesting to see how the locals are still using the land for things like grazing and the cultivation of fruits. It's to bad that they are unable to find other uses for these locales: community hub, art gallery, school, et al...
OMG what a gourgous, lovely, beautiful place. There aren't enough words. Yet it's so sad to see it go into this decay. Thank you for visiting here and shareing with us.
This entire Winery was amazing Sam&Jess!.. that Mansion was a Grand & Beautiful place at one time...Very much enjoyed the outside Gardens as well...Wonder if there is any Wine left from this place??...
Loved it,you captured the atmosphere. They used the sheep which look like our “Kent” breed to keep down the grass between the vines,I could almost smell that mint🥰
I can just imagine how magnificent that place looked when it was in its prime before all the devastating decay took hold of everything and gave it a sad disheveled decayed look. It’s gorgeous but I was magnificent in its heyday!!
Amazing place. Huge, once productive and full of life. Thank you for this vision of the past. I could smell mint and oranges. Always nice to see you two smiling. 🌸🐌💙🌙
Thank you for showing this and the other amazing mansion, I don't believe any mansion here in the states could come close to the beauty in these building, even when decade.
I would be eating a bunch of oranges if I was there. Great video. The ceilings are a true work of art. The vineyard reminds me of my Italian grandfather who used to grow is own grapes and make his own wine. As kids we used to eat so many grapes we would get a stomach ache. We never did learn though :)
That is a crime that place being abandoned and all that fertile ground not in production !! It makes me wonder why ? As always a great video Thank You !!
you are really real artists. your movies are beautiful. you can watch them apnea all the time. beauty surrounds you because you are a beautiful couple. thank you very much for YOUR LUCK

Some parts of it seem very art-deco style and some more classical. It looks like an amazing place

It always makes me think if I would have lived there when it was a newly built home. How happy these people must have bean.

I don't think alcohol was as strong in the past as it was a staple drink. Water could contain so many germs and viruses so it was safer this way.
@@claireb4259 I totally agree . 💖
