- Quasistatic (Reversible) Compression and Expansion of a Gas in a Piston is discussed. Thermodynamics requires the work done in terms of pressure and volume, i.e. W = - P dV. Dimensional analysis is performed on all relevant quantities. Scalar dot products, force and displacement are explained.
