Man, I really wish that Editors Keys or somebody could make custom printed keycaps with all of those legends for mechanical keyboards. Custom keyboards and keyboard skins like these have been helpful for me before with learning software like Avid, but I do want that mechanical feel with the mechanical keboard I already have, and without spending an arm and a leg for Resolve's dedicated full-size Editor Keyboard.
I just got the logitech MX keys you mentioned and it's sooo good. The feel, sound, layout, EVERYTHING. It's perfect. I used an apple keyboard for a couple years and hated it, can't believe the difference.
I used to use one of the EditorKeys wired keyboards a few years ago and it really helped me learn the keyboard shortcuts in DaVinci Resolve! Great video!
Great video Chad. . . Never been a keyboard shortcut user. Will do anything to avoid memorizing 100 diff. shortcuts but finally gave in and dropped $160 for the Editors Keys because of the full color keys. Thank you
Nice video. I use the Editor Keyboard from Blackmagic. It's great but I wish it was backlit. I have to use usb lights over the keyboard to see as my muscle memory isn't honed in. Editors Keys makes some nice stuff.
I don't know, if I'm paying north of a certain amount for a DR keyboard, I tend to gravitate towards the official one with some of the dedicated functions of the Speed Editor. Admittedly, it even clickier than your Keychron.
Personally, I use low Profile neuphy 75 . And I love it. I use a well something like a Number pad On my left side.. I would say what it is but I don't recommend it.. lol . The big thing for me is I don't use the default key binds at least most of them or at least the main ones. When I was learning and figuring it out I put stickers all over my keyboard and I still have stickers for the ones that I have a harder time remembering. It is all color coded to remind me of what modifier key to use with it. It would be cool if they had a keyboard like this that was customizable somehow. I do really like my keyboard though I had to go through a lot of keyboards before I found one that I like as well as I like this one.
I go through keyboards far too quickly to pay this much for one. In my opinion, a keyboard is meant to be a wear part (like break pads). I'll pay a bit extra for features like bluetooth and backlighting but they just wear out too quickly to pay $200 for one keyboard. I got my last keyboard and mouse for $80.
Sub 777 checking in with my two cents😅. I own one of those DR Editor Keyboards. After 2 years I had the command button Pop off. I'm trying a Logic Keyboard for Davinci Resolve now. This thing is built like a tank. The keys feel amazing. Yes it's a great way to speed up your editing along with the Replay Editor. Whenever I receive mines from backorder.😂
What would you recommend if someone uses both PC (primarily) and Mac? Their website says it works with both, but they also have an option to select pc/mac
I have the editors key Davinci keyboard. It arrived bent so it wobbles when I use it, the bluetooth is unreliable and the keyboard goes to sleep/becomes unresponsive if you don't use it for a couple of minutes which is very annoying when editing with a mouse then going back to a keyboard. The escape key fell off on the 2nd use (but popped back in, but it is loose) and the top of the keys started to wear off. Came back too it a few months ago, after giving up (I have to wedge something under the keyboard to stop it wobbling) and now 5 of the keys are unreadable and yesterday the keyboard just stopped communication with my PC. I would NOT recommend anything from editors keys....

Elgato Stream XL is very good alternative to this keyboard. It has significantly improved my workflow editing in DR and using any other software. No special keyboard is needed. Check it out for your next video.
they stress all the stuff they wont take care of in the "Returns" section. not great for a $200 keyboard; makes it sound like they dont want it back even if the customer is unhappy with the product. and thats god awful expensive for it to not be mechanical. plus they also charge for shipping yikes lol. i like to customize my keyboard too so those labels would be useless. this is a $100 keyboard and thats being generous. i mean, i still want it but not that bad. looks cool tho

Hey that's a good idea! We did think about doing that, but could probably only support one type of key cap

Aha found it! Solid breakdown and great a new keyboard addiction unlocked 😅😂

@10:00 You must have an older Mac KB because mine with Touch ID purchased in 2024 has for buttons on the left: Fn - Control - Option - Command
For fusion or fair light you can create Hotkeys with raycast program, very useful + powerful program and not only for davinci

The BM keyboard is 3X the price of this
@@JGorg8 And it offers more value
Please do a tutorial on quick editing using keyboard when you have multiple layers and audio layers.
the macbook pro has 4 buttons to the left of the space bar...
fn, control, option, command
Love your videos! Do you still use Avid MC btw?
thanks for CTRL + L/K/J. didn't knew that.
I new about Selection follows playhead, but i don't use it, find it really disturbing in most of the cases.

Whatabout compares to the Logickeyboard Davinci Resolve Mac Astra Backlit ??
Willing to share your opinion on the skin-type for MacBook keyboards vs this keyboard? I often travel and am limited to the MacBook's keyboard.

Hey full warranty and support on all our products, we're only a small team so we care about this lasting you for a lifetime of editing!
@@editorskeys I appreciate the intention, but to me they just get too filthy and only survive a few cleanings.

I just started using the small streamdeck and it's awesome, I want the big boy next
Cmd+l doesn't do anything on my resolve 😶🌫️
I'm just using my keyboard, and speed editor
Oh boy, I keep hitting CMD L by accident to then see my clips take off along the timeline like the walking dead
ha - yeah you must have selection follows playhead turned on
