  • How Toxic Waste Is Dumped Into The Ocean | Lethal Cargo | ENDEVR Documentary from 2016
    Episode 2: Toxic Waste
The incredible story of how big industry and the mafia collaborated over the past 30 years to dispose of toxic waste under the sea and in secret waste pits in Italy, poisoning Mediterranean waters and agricultural land around Naples.
    Watch the full series here:
Episode 1 - Migrants: • The Shady Business of ...
Episode 3 - Weapons: • The Harsh Truth About ...
Episode 4 - Drugs: • Why Europe is Flooded ...
The Mediterranean Sea is crisscrossed by traffics of every kind, some legal, others lethal. Over the last five years, we have been putting together the pieces of a tragic and terrifying story of the merchants of death. Lethal Cargo covers the escape of refugees from war regions in leaky boats, the spilling of toxic waste into the depths of the ocean during goods transportation and in our two most recent episodes, the illegal handling of drugs and weapon across the Mediterranean. Shockingly, the governments that should be trying to stem the tide of this illegal trades are the very ones involved in a tangled web of corruption!

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

We Americans can easily ignore the situation by telling ourselves we are doing such a good job recycling which truly isn't in the bucket compared to what's going on in the rest of the world thank you

This the second documentary I've been able to find on TH-cam. The other is about the nuclear waste being dumped in the Atlantic by the British and French. The missing one is about America was dumping it in the Atlantic off the US coast. There is some parts of how Japan is dumping nuclear waste water into the Pacific.

Used to practice body-board back in the 90´s in my hometown Peniche, Portugal. One summer I got a rash on my feet that comes up every summer since and makes my feet itchy and causes little blisters that if I don´t touch them, it goes away in 1 week. But next summer appears again. I swear was duo to the ocean, never went back to it since.

The Indian Ocean water near the towns of between Barawe to Mogadishu and Kismayo must have been polluted with the toxic waste that was told to me by a friend of mine who was a sailor in the ship Regal

To put innocent people in danger of contracting cancer and other diseases from the illicit dumping of chemicals for profits is despicable and show how the love of money is so evil.

Those that create the toxic waste should be responsible instead of dumping them irresponsibly. They have r&d to create chemical to make product. They should go the extra mile from developing to disposing instead of dumping. Eventually these toxic chemical goes into the environment, soil, air, water & food chain. Meditaerranean seafood?

And that’s why a story was spread about the Chinese trawler boats that were dumping toxic waste of the Indian Ocean in Somalia and the Somalia Pirates Started out of the story of toxic waste disposal in the coastal regions of Somalia

    • @oasis5683
      @oasis5683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Not entirely true, Pirates were fishermen. They say saw illegal fishing from foreign fishing vessels so they had to act to protect their livelihood. But toxic waste dumb happened and still happening today.

Unless we, all of us, stop thinking I don't make a difference I'm only me...whay if Gandhi would have thought that? We all need to start doing all we can in our daily life....avoid plastic, eat less meat/avoid factory farms/processed food, ask about supply chains when looking to buy products and don't be fooled by "greenwashing" labels, avoid food, clothes etc waste...like fast fashion n only buy abosulty needed items (preferably 2nd hand), aim for a circular and sharing economy, not infinite growth on a planet of finite resources...we can still all do our best to save as much as we can for future generations and give a finger to greedy, exploit the poor and nature to enrich yourself; short term idiot share holders/board membets/CEO'S etc of big corporations. 👍 all the best 🍀

😢...It's so sad that the people you trusted governing your social life is actually the one that is killing you....how iconic?
FREEDOM --- "YOU WERE NEVER SUPPRESSE OR CAGE" ---- "EVERYTHING WAS YOUR OWN DOING".
We're heading towards the edge, next big changes that will determine what scientists had been saying "why we can't find any intelligent life other there in space? Only reason is "we are the first and what we do will determine extinction cost by self destruction or live to tells our journey.
