    I bet you feel a bit like a pioneer yourself. I see many channels with millions of subs that deserve them so much less than you do. I'd be surprised if in a year from now you aren't in the hundred thousands for subscribers. As long as you keep up this high quality work, it's inevitable you'll get there. And even if you quit tomorrow, you'd still be an inspiration to me.

    • @RoweLit
      @RoweLit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Patolomy! I appreciate the kind words and support! It's funny, I'm generally too busy to think too much about what I'm doing 😃 But if anything, I see this type of writing as anti-pioneer. I studied classical civilizations, and this mode of publishing is strikingly similar to the bardic tradition of Hesiod and Homer and the wandering storytellers walking from village to village. I just think we're going back to the campfire again, only it's a much bigger, more nuanced campfire. Whatever it is, though, it's super fun!

    Glad you're back! Missed the regular story.
    Re: Co2 issues, BioSphere experiment.
    Can't say why I know this.
    A critical detail was missed, making the soil inside BioSphere. Lots of compost was incorporated , causing an excess of many tons, maybe 100's of tons of excess decomposing organics in the soils producing runaway CO2 levels. Hindsight is 20-20. It was stated to me that was so excessive, it would not be reversible even if the whole biosphere was planted with something. Learning involves errors. Stupidity isn't reserved for the uneducated.

    • @RoweLit
      @RoweLit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, 2kittys! I did not know it was the soil! That's fascinating. My friends in the soil sciences would be disappointed in me. I've gotten more interested in agriculture as I've gotten older, and the beauty and complexity of developing a crop season to season is a bottomless rabbit hole for me now.

    Congrats Rowe! That's great. Thank again for another great story. Kind of curious what happened to earth in the misfits. Or if Jullian left before their neural implants started causing huge problems.

    • @mrtodddelaroderie
      @mrtodddelaroderie ปีที่แล้ว

      On top of that question and from stories such as telescope I am guessing that the misfits story is far from the milky way.
      And with the far future storyline when humans are controlled by nonhuman (not sure if they are aliens or artificial beings that humanity no longer controls). Where does that story occur at? And will we ever hear more than whispers about the fate of earth in the misfits. I can kind of guess that dark age tech pretty much killed everyone not in the misfit area. But did any no Jullian groups survive?

    Hey
    I don't have a promiscuous TH-cam account. I want to say that I'd like to make a request! I want you to create a story about a single cabin mate that survived on a ship alone, after all his/her fellow crewman died. The problems he/she experiences. The inevitable fate he/she knows that lies in store. And whether or not said person survives! I LOVE your story telling and honestly, idk if what I'm saying will get through.. I listen to EVERYTHING you put out, it's all so interesting. Not to mention you are an amazing narrator (would love some soundtrack 😜). But at the end of the day I got the idea from Magnetar on TH-cam! He narrates some amazing stories and I think that you taking on that "alone in space" scenario would be amazing.
    If you have time.

    • @RoweLit
      @RoweLit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers, Silver! Thanks for you kind words and enthusiasm 😃 I think that is a great story scenario. It's so good in fact, I may already have plans for that kind of a story to appear somewhere in the future 🤔 I can't say where, when, or in what context, but if you stay tuned it, something like that is definitely going to come up!

      Which reminds me of 1) Arthur C Clarke's "Fountains Of Paradise" .....his underutilized space elevator concept, ( and the failures along the way to building a megastructure ) .....and 2) ...of how imaginative and engrossing your storytelling is...... Particularly your character building and backstory building.......yes , I'm comparing your writing to something approaching Sir A C Clarke ,... perhaps my most favorite hard Sci fi writer. ! He was right about satellites, and the Moon as permanent infrastructure for staging to the beyond..... 🤓👍🏽@@RoweLit

    With an ONeil Cylinder, you sleep on the inside of course. But on Earth we dont sleep on the ceiling. I wish I could calculate how fast the cylinder has to rotate to equate to earth gravity. Create a graph.

      I disagree. It shows that some social dynamics persist even as time and technology grow. It helped keep the individual expectations and experiences of the characters unique and grounded.
