Ive got so so much to say on this subject because when i left Korea i actually had a plan but when i got home naturally things didnt go as planned, i started considering going back but realised that i dont want to be stuck in that endless cycle of moving schools or switching between countries out of fear of starting from scratch in SA (something ive seen most people settling for) , would love to get into more detail when you're live on insta or something ❤️
So true!!! One can plan all they want but you never know what things will be like on the other side 😔 coming back home feels like starting from scratch for me too, didn’t anticipate it would be like this but with time everything will come together! Would definitely love to do a live with you on this topic
Life after living abroad is different. It's great to have a plan, but it's okay if you don't have one too. You'l figure it out, eventually. I think of returning back home, not as starting all over, but as starting from experience. I hope people realise that life is not set in stone, and it's okay to give yourself grace, to figure things out. Thank you for sharing your experience, Anna.
Working abroad without a plan is silliest thing you can do... My goal was to finish my 20 years bond in 3 years, I'm done paying it and renting out. I am going for a second house.
Thank you for this ❤ I just moved to Korea to teach and i have been thinking a lot about this! We might be making good money now but we don’t plan to live in Asia forever so this is such an important conversation!
You’re welcome 😇 Wishing you all the best in your new journey in South Korea! May you find your community, joy, financial freedom, personal growth and unforgettable experiences ❤️
Hi Annah, really great advice. Having a plan, and staying focused on it is so important. Even for those who don’t plan on moving back home immediately. Thanks for the video😊
When I came back I was pretty much homeless 😂... Been staying in hotels🙈 and eating takeaways since😅... But I did develop a skill which is what's helping me to afford paying for my expenses and maintaining myself so that I don't go into my savings🙌.
😂 I know what you mean! Glad to hear With time we figure things out, life starts to make sense again. Congratulations on being your own boss! Trading 🤓 wishing you all the success Jacky ❤️
@@pinkyphungula I was living with mom in Johannesburg. So when my sister and I left she decided to lease out her place and now she's staying with others elsewhere. Home is in Limpopo.
Thank you for this video. For me it’s so worth it. Will save and enjoy spending time there with my family. I have years of experience here at home in a financial industry and qualifications to support it. I’m still upskilling for my move. Some take this as an opportunity to pay off their mortgage bonds and other expenses so that they return home debt free. We all have our focus on different things and what works for Peter may not work for Paul
Hi Pato, thanks for watching! I did not forget my life before moving abroad. I was renting in Johannesburg while working. Now I’m struggling to find a job to rent as per before. If you leave your job to work abroad your job isn’t here waiting for you upon return. I did not forget this fact. The purpose of this video is remind ppl of that. That your job isn’t here waiting, so we need to have a plan. And if your plan is to return home and start again that cool too. What works for Peter doesn’t work for Paul.
I was busy with my PGCE during my contract - needed to return for practicals. Wasn’t willing to put them off 😊 practicals are now done - hoping to get a better teaching position now that I’m qualified

100% I’m starting to learn that it’s okay to not have a set plan. It’s unfolding as I go along! 😋 in the figuring out stage, Thanks Lwazi
