This gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. ☺️ I was lucky to have a (mostly) supportive family when I came out, but I'm also very aware that not everyone has a positive coming out experience. I think this video reflects the kind of reaction we all hope for, I wish everyone could find this acceptance and understanding 🏳️🌈

You know what's sad? People find more comfort and joy in listening to this then having the ability to come out to their family because their family is so unloving and unsupportive. Makes me mad that there are so many families who are just... Not accepting of LGBT people just because they exist

Yes im 2 years late but this really got me cause my mom litterally punished me for being lesbian and i have been wearing a "mask" for 3 years now and i still do. Me and my parents barely talk and i live with them.
It feels really really weird thinking about a mom that loves me. First one put me up for adoption, second one let her husband do what he wanted to me, and lied to cover it up.
So “mom” and “love” don’t really go together in my mind outside of the fiction I write.
After being locked up in my house since March and really thinking about life & shit. I had came to the conclusion that I in fact has been crushing on girls. I’ve only talked to my mom about me questioning my sexuality and she has told me that this is all a phase, I’ve always liked guys before, it’s been boys ever since kindergarten, you don’t really like girls your just lonely and want good friends. Bruh heck if I know but I that’s not appreciated-no ma’🤭 Now that i have my vaccine hopefully I’m gonna be able to see people again and hopefully figure myself out. She’s supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and says she’ll always accept me no matter what but doesn’t believe that these feelings are real. I’m very lucky but damn...

This made me cry, I just want to thank you for this. When my parents found out about me being gay it wasn’t the greatest reaction. My mom told me that I would have been better of if I had went through with it and killed myself and I got disowned, my dad just agreed with her, I’m 16 and they found out when I was 15, I almost got kicked out, rn they are treating me like I’m “normal” ( their words), it’s been a living hell, i hope I graduate soon so I can go to college and get away from here, thank you again this really made my day
