I liked that MIB showed strongly that not all aliens are bad guys, which was sort of the point of the shooting test. Most of them are decent people who wouldn’t want an innocent planet destroyed over their species politics.

The CGI in 97 wasn't very good, you really needed practical effects to make the CGI work Then the CGI got good enough (really, it got cheap enough) that they started overusing it. Now, the CGI has gotten pretty good and studios have started bringing back more practical effects combined with better CGI, which is really the best way to do it. But we had to go through a really awkward decade where the CGI was noticeable and distracting

What I got from this movie; it seems there's a kind of symbiotic relationship between the Arquillians and cats as there is between humans and dogs. The alien in this scene seemed to dote on the cat, Orion, at every turn. Even taking him to a public restaurant. Which, on a sidenote, is not permitted in real life. Jay even made a quip about it in a later scene. Not to mention Orion seemed to "meow in mourning" when the Arquillian died.

Oct. 24, 2020---Never understood why they didn't use her in one of the other MIB movies.
she was a scientist for MIB in the series. but in the second movie jay said she went back to being a medical examiner.
There was initially a rumour that Linda Fiorentino wasn't in the sequel because Tommy Lee Jones refused to work with her again and another suggesting she priced herself out of a return. She says herself that she was simply unavailable because of a scheduling conflict, but given that her only film around the time was Liberty Stands
There were rumors that she was difficult to work with in all her films. Apparently kevin smith regretted even casting her in dogma.

I hoped that Laurel (or Agent L) got more screen time. I would love to see a Men in Black movie of J and she being the main duo, and it probably would have been a story way better than MiB: International. I mean seriously, she was honestly brilliant in this movie, and I really want to see what she can do with the resources MiB can offer her.
The animated series was pretty good. Agent L has a major role in that series, although she is blonde instead of brunette.

What I got from this movie; it seems there's a kind of symbiotic relationship between the Arquillians and cats as there is between humans and dogs. The alien in this scene seemed to dote on the cat, Orion, at every turn. Even taking him to a public restaurant. Which, on a sidenote, is not permitted in real life. Jay even made a quip about it in a later scene. Not to mention Orion seemed to "meow in mourning" when the Arquillian died.
As a Kid I was always afraid of aliens (or just other creatures) with human eyes, specially this little guy, and E.T.

Bruh how have I just noticed. When wording out Orion’s Belt, he said why is the word. The alien didn’t know English, and said belt when he meant collar
It’s a play on words. The alien said Orion’s Belt because that’s the name of the constellation.
@@rogeliorodriguez8518 the alien didn't know the word 'collar'. It kept saying 'orion's' and J thought it's trying to say orian's belt since that's the only thing he can think of that has anything to do with orian.
@@NeoFreezz I disagree. The cat's name is "Orion" and what better clue than to say belt (which can also be similar to belt).
If I'm trying to tell someone that Orion's belt is on Orion's collar (belt) id say belt, not the collar.
Aliens are intelligent, of course they know what a collar is. They would have had to go to the pet store to buy that.

I like my interpretation better though. I'd like to think aliens are highly intelligent and give the right clues and know how to play on words. Its implied they have been living on Earth in their suits. Meaning they have learned how to communicate which is key in society. Its weird when people are not, they seem almost robotic, like you're implying.
Anyway yeah this is an awesome men in black. After this they tanked.

Amazing! That cat genuinely looked to be grieving or at least looking to display a sense of loss or helplessness. Not saying it actually was, but imagine how long they had to film that cat with likely many different stimuli?
