This song made me to do some little online search on Veera Bhajan, the lady with amelia syndrome. she is indeed one of a kind, a true inspiration to one and all. no wonder she is now in the law field and doing a lot progressive stuffs. my hat off to Weston Rawlins "Cro Cro", TNT and all lovers of calypso and Caribbean music ❤❤❤❤ 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 greetings from Ghana, West Africa
Please don’t blame the young people for this. The blame is to be placed on the politicians, the causative politico-social system , and the new socially engineered culture that was based on PNM “values” which taught them, as they taught their parents, that as long as PNM is kept in power all their needs would be looked after. PNM deliberately made their voters poor, dependent, loyal, vulnerable to their false promises and deceit, always hoping (often against hope) for the “blessing” of the PNM. And, when you have received any good from PNM, however, eligible you are, they are never allowed to forget that they owe their loyalty to PNM, and never to their hard work, dedication, responsible parents and God. PNM became God and the PNM leaders beginning with the “genius” who invented and crafted this evil system, Eric Williams, became His “messiahs”. And their blind and illiterate supporters, have been made to think that they were above the law (lawless), that whatever goods are in the stores, homes, banks, on the street, are theirs, magically stolen from them, so to murder any one who prevents them from taking them as they will, is the true criminal. Cro Cro should sing about this, but the problem is that he too is a child of the PNM, and carries it’s genes in every cell in his body. Who is he now to complain?
Look I'm 12 doing a project on calypso and I never thought I could like a calypso song so much BUT WHY AT THE END HE HIT THE MEN BUTSS WHY?!?!??!!?!??!?!?!?
The is about corporal punishment if his son or daughter fails their exam. The persons in the stage was dramatizing delinquent young people idling during ir after school and seemingly up to no good. As the song reached its end the calypsonian kept in character and carried out discipline by doing what u referred to as hitting the butt of the delinquent youth to show a means of flogging against delinquency.
straightened out? you realise that if you use violence or the threat of it as punishment for not learning as fast as other students or simply not being able to understand the way the teacher has explained something is absolutely ridiculous and creates violence. crime is easier in those regards if you are abused at school and you are abused at home then abuse on the streets is almost expected. break the cycle and start actually educating kids individually otherwise you're doomed to fail.
I don't think it was meant in a malicious way. The song is supposed to be an eye opener to "his children" (black people). So to stress on his point he had to make it clear this little indian girl with no hands performed better than black children who have both their hands. He also mentioned 'black' a good few times'. The message of the song would be different if he left those terms out. It would be more general as opposed to specific to 'his people'

IF people had taken the true message from this calypso and straightened out some of these youngsters the crime rate would not be what it is today.
