Why do we need backpatch table when we already have symbol table. The address of the symbol can already be obtained from the symbol table after the first pass
Sir, Suppose we have something like: MOV A, B JMP X X: MOV C, D In this case suppose size of the JMP X Machine code will depend on X.(Depending upon the whether the X get location which can be represent in 8 Bit or 16Bit.) So whats now? How can we move further after JMP X ? As we are not sure about the location of next instruction as JMP X is not of fixed size here. Please Help
