Looks good for the price. I was in the market for a new video tripod last year and considered these cheaper ones, but went for a second hand manfrotto in the end. It lacks the drag adjustment and adjustable counterbalance, which would be really useful for me to have, but when you add those, not only does the price go up, but they get bigger and heavier and are more hassle to carry around.

Can you change the head? Say use a Manfrotto head?

I had problems with the smallrig leg-plate and the smallrig fluid head to get it locked tight. It always slipped when pressing against the plate. And when I carefully watched your video, it seems that the original plate locks a bit earlier (means it´s wider) when you lock the locking knob, or?

I have a cheap Amazon basics tripod. Do you think it's worth the price to upgrade to this smallrig?

Is the head removeable? and transfer to a 3/8 thread tripod?

The head is removable however it uses a bowl base so would require a suitable tripod, don't think it would work with a 3/8" one
