It's a big deal to the players who receive it because it is awarded based on a vote by the players. Getting the Founders Award means that your competitors and peers have great respect and admiration for you and your dedication to the LPGA and to golf. Lydia won this award in 2021, and given how the ladies look up to her as the unofficial ambassador for the tour, I wouldn't be surprised if she won it again here in 2022🏆
Andrea Lee continues to roll with a solo 2nd, and another top 10 finish👏🙌 She climbs to #14 in the CME standings, which is pretty impressive considering that she started the season carrying her own bag on the Epson Tour!⛳

Hyo Joo Kim was the local hometown favorite at this tournament in particular. And you could tell with the volume of crowd support she got from day 1. I think that this was her home base course.

I have no idea why you think this way but I will give you some background about her. According to an interview together with her father a coupe of years ago, she implied that she was kind of forced to play golf because she did it so well and could make money for her family but in fact she didn't like playing golf at the beginning. Her father looked so frustated during the interview and she didn't care then . It looks like she played golf by some sort of imperative motivation rather than by inspiration so as a result, she plays it aggressively.
