      You can find the link to the form in the description box. It asks for basic information of the applicant such as DoB, address, landing date in Ontario, and country from which one is coming if he/she is a new immigrant. If you have any specific query feel free to ask us!

    Hey very informative video, thanks for sharing.
    Question: how does it work for old parents of folks who are on PR in Ontario. (Indian origin).

    HI,
    I just landed in Canada and I am in Ontario. Your video did help me a lot!
    So, walk-in clinics are for everyone, or do we have separate walk-in clinics for kids?
    How do we go to the pediatricians?
    Thanks!

    Hi, very informative video. I have a question in post covid scenario, if you can provide some clarity: Is it mandatory to live in Ontario for 153 days to avail OHIP, or there's no such condition applicable in reality? Is it true once you get the health card, then you can avail any in scope medical service anytime.
    To be a bit more specific, taking an example with timelines...if I get the health card right now (few days after landing coz 3month period is waived off), and I return to India (there are some obligations)..say if I come back to Toronto in December 2020, can I use my health card to get free treatment, if I need it on immediate basis.
    Basically I've not really lived in Toronto, so whenever I'm present there, can I avail medical services immediately?

    • @rightturntocanada7958
      @rightturntocanada7958  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What we understand about the current situation is that if you apply after March 19 for OHIP, you need not to wait for three months and I think 154 days condition does not apply here.
      You will have a valid OHIP and you can use it until it expires.
      We are not 100% sure though.

      Kumar Dua that’s really great. Winters are not that depressing. The best thing to do in winters is to buy proper gear and enjoy the snow.
      It’s totally different world in winters and we personally love it. The only problem is that initial time might be in basements so that can be a bit depressing.
      Everything is great here and i wish you good luck for the process.

    Please Note, don’t take it personally when you try to phone around asking if Doctors offices are taking new patients. You will most always get a receptionist or nurse that will quickly cut you off with “No, not accepting “ and pretty much hang up on you. These people, I believe are flooded with inquiries like this daily and are annoyed with these phone calls. Health Care Connect can only do so much as well. You can sit on a wait list with them for months to years waiting for a doctor. No family doctor definitely puts you at a real disadvantage too because you need one to refer you to a specialist unless you literally beg an emergency room doctor for a referral. They will keep telling you at emergency that you need to get a family doctor which can be frustrating because you may be doing all you can to find one. So, you can see how you can be going around in circles, and at the same time be trying to deal with a health issue! Be forewarned, I’m living it in Southwestern Ontario!
