I'm laughing at some of these old comment on here talking about how nontraditional this is, considering that this is one of the most traditional Celtic Steps figures. Hell, the one I'm on now wears no wigs, sailor hats, and purple lipstick! What was traditional back in the day isn't so anymore, and this kind of style is the norm for figure choreography.

This was filmed as a performance, not actually in the competition. The girl without the wig is now a TCRG at the school so probably just standing in. They weren't making some wigless statement or anything ;_)

I loved performing teacher choreography in Feis Competition back in the 1970's. The girls were much more beautiful to watch with their own hair and costumes not so over-the-top elaborate. And the silly hand waving and on the hips is a bit much for my taste. The Fox Hunt by Butler Academy was one of my all time favorites. When did the young men stop wearing kilts? I miss the older more traditional performances.

Look up the Irish loom by duncliffe school and they’re wearing the traditional costumes and far superior to this.

They aren't trying to be "celtic." They are just trying to have a little bit more fun.
