I am not a Muay Thai practitioner nor do I know Thai language. What are they saying during sparring? Are they naming the techniques upon executing them? Why?
Saenchai calls his strikes to confuse his opponents. He yells for example “left kick” and throws a normal left kick. Later on he yells “left kick” for the 5th time or so but this time does a high right kick when his opponent expects a left kick. Its his style For superbon or other thai fighters they just say random noises like owee or shuh. Its the same as when a boxer hisses when throwing a punch but mixed with slight playfulness.
This is just my opinion, but the only reason to spar hard should be to prepare yourself for a fights speed and intensity in a somewhat controlled environment. A theory that gets thrown around about why thai fighters spar light more often and western gyms spar harder more often is because on average the thais fight a lot more. Since they fight more, their senses are already used to that real fight pace and they dont need to spar hard to prepare, unlike western fighters.
I think saenchai is the goat. But superbon is sooo food too, he has amazing skills technique and punching Power i think he should be only doing muay thai and no more k1!
