Huge respect once again for your series. I shot my first HaRGB target last night and wondered if you had covered the process, sure enough here we are. You are a true gent.
I know I’m not alone struggling to master (well, perhaps not quite mastering) Pixinsight. And being a novice there are many incidental-often overlooked by other videos-actions that need to be taken. In this video you carefully and patiently explain every movement and click of your mouse. This may not seem earth shaking to someone proficient with Pixinsight, but let me tell you, there’s nothing more frustrating than watching tutorials where you have to guess what just happened. Your videos are truly invaluable to us ‘dummies’ and, I’m sure, to more advanced users. Keep up the great work Luke and, as always, thanks for not forgetting us struggling newcomers to Pixinsight.
Thank you Joe!! - I'm glad you enjoy these videos and find use in the little extras I try to put in there, such as the descriptions of where I'm pointing next etc! I'd count myself among the struggling newcomers to PixInsight still, haha - I'm highly doubtful I'll ever master the software, but I'm just happy learning as I go and sharing what I find with others, so I'm elated to hear it's so well received! :-) Clear skies my friend!
Finally got around to watching your vid! Was worth the wait😀 Another fantastic tutorial Luke, I’m loving these mate, great work and awesome image 👍 Thanks for sharing and clear skies!
Thanks so much for watching Simon mate!! - I really am glad you've enjoyed these, I know they'll not be everyone's cup of tea but they are definitely helping some folk! 👍 Hope you have a super weekend ahead bud!
I appreciate your series so much, thanks a lot, Luke! Not only the contents you cover but also the way you explain every step and hey, you just are such a kind, sympathic guy to follow and listen to. Big thumbs up and cheers from Zurich, Nico🌌
Hi Luke, another great tutorial using Pixinsight. I’m very glad you covered this topic on Ha/RGB as it’s definitely something I’m looking forward to trying out in the near future.Clear skies.
Luke I hope that you are aware what an invaluable contribution you are making towards people starting out in, as well as those who have been doing astrophotography a while. Your videos are always eagerly anticipated and if it means that you make fewer to keep your life in balance so be it. Anyone who appreciates your input will understand. The help you’ve given with Pixinsight has been gold mate, thank you. More of this will always be welcome. A quick question if I may which will sound very dumb I’m sure but here goes. After running all files through WBPP with drizzle enabled (dithering enabled on ASIAIR ) Pixinsight outputs two master light files. The one with drizzle in the title is roughly half the size of the other, which one should be processed? Just not clear to someone who doesn’t know. Thanks again mate.
I appreciate that so much Pete, I really am happy to know you think so highly of my vids mate, thank you! - continuing to help people is definitely something I want to keep doing! :-) RE: wbpp with drizzle - usually the file that's the biggest is the one you'd process, a 2x drizzled file should be about 4x bigger than a normal master for reference, I can't honestly say I use WBPP drizzle though so I'm a bit unfamiliar with it's output! My apologies I can't be more help there mate. Thank you again for your lovely message and all the support you've given, I appreciate you!
Another excellent tutorial Luke. I think you've put together an excellent series here and they aren't just for beginners in my opinion. I was applying chrominance noise reduction to all of my images but you're right it does negate some detail......also use a sacrificial clone now on blue masks in particular so there's things in these tutorials for everyone. Look after yourself mate 👍
So glad you like them Paul! - I'm thankful to hear you are able to find use from the work too, that's really good to know mate! :-) I hope you're keeping well! All the very best, Luke
Brilliant walk through. I did have some issues trying to drag and drop the additional tools into the workspace but once that was resolved it was great.
Great tutorial mate I can see me downloading Pi soon & my PC going up in smoke lol, might try the 45 day trial soon though to see how it goes. Clears skies & look after yourself.
As now usual, another well explained tutorial. I just hope when I get to this stage that I can collect all of these tutorials together to get some results of my own. At the moment I've got 'Ps4 disign' used twice since it came out. Never got on with their tutorials. 🤔😴 Thanks for the good work, wish you clear sky's.
Thanks Luke for another great Pixinsight tutorial. Really nice image too. Hopefully, if we get any clear weather, I will get out the Edge HD11 and image the Ghost in Cassiopeia myself. Did you use your RASA or your 10” Skywatcher reflector? Cheers John
Thanks for watching mate!! Glad you liked it :-D RE: scope, this was taken with my Esprit 120 triplet and 0.77x reducer/flattener - Hope that helps! :-) Clear skies!
That's awesome to hear Jesus! :-D I think you'd really enjoy what it can do! I put myself off purchasing it for a long time, but after the trial there was no going back! Clear skies my friend :-)
Another great Luke's tutorial I've just finished! But how do I get rid of the lens artifacts near the Navi star (Gamma Cassiopeiae, the brightest one in this image)?
Hey there mate! Usually artifacts are left over from incomplete star removal, I used to have that kind of issue while using starnet++ rather than starXterminator 👍 Hope that helps
Great tutorial & a wonderfully processed image that is. But that big bright star there, any way to reduce just that star's glow ? My eyes seem to be drawn to that star rather than the ghost.
Thanks for the feedback Alfred! - It could have been reduced more but I personally liked it as part of the image composition, offering a kind of juxtaposition I think! All the best! :-)
@@lukomatico ... Thanks for the feedback. I did come across a tutorial on Selective Star Reduction - Using Bill Blanshan's Star Size Reduction Tools by Night Sky Imaging. Pehaps i'll give that a try & see what gives.
@@alfredterrence6112 Hey Alfred! I did use those tools in this tutorial 👍Bill's tools work great! He's a good friend of mine, I was the very first channel to showcase his work as it happens! :-D
Hey there! Usually whichever channel is employed as the luminance (if used) does the heavy lifting regarding detail, your r g b can be pretty mushy and still make a great shot if used with a good lum 👍 If doing pure rgb imaging, no lum, then I'd probably think about it. Hope that helps!

Ah mate I'm so glad you've found it useful!! That's just fantastic to hear 👍
Thanks for watching!! :-)

It's for that click happy attitude that I gave up on Photoshop.

Clear skies mate!
Incredibly useful in so many different ways. I learned a ton about the process as well as a variety of tricks and shortcuts!
Glad it was helpful my friend, that's awesome!!! Thank you for watching :-D
I ordered a laptop today just to get into pixinsight. So thank you so much. It still looks very intimidating but you offer a path they'd the madness
This has been a brilliant series mate, I’ve certainly watched it from start to end and learnt some new ways to process things.
Thank you Nigel!! - That's high praise indeed coming from you buddy, I appreciate it!
Clear skies!
Another great tutorial Luke. Take it easy and Clear skies bud.
Thanks so much Rob mate!! :-)

Many thanks, Luke - look forward to watching this later today.

Great video again. Thanks for the sharing the data that you are using, really helps with following your video.
Thanks for watching Randy! :-)
thanks a million, Luke. I'm trying to shoot a galaxy and will be enhancing it with some Ha, so this is very timely! Cheers
Awesome to hear that mate! You may need to experiment with the blend strength but it should work well!
Good luck and clear skies 👍👍
Thank you so much Luke I'm learning so much from you big thank you
