      Looking at the sun during dawn and dusk, the feeling of a hot cup of coffee in my hands, touching and talking to my plants, dressing up, putting intentionality in cooking the best meal in the world, hold on.......now that I think of these things, I realize there are actually so many things around us that can give us joy. It does not have to be the dream vacation to Bali or a promotion.
      You just have to be intentional and conscious of your surrounding. Because it is all waiting there. Only for you to recognize it and feel joy :)
      P.S. - Helena, honestly one of my simple joys is watching your videos. Thank you for sharing!

    My go-to is nature. Always. I recently moved from the city to a small village in the mountains and I'm surrounded by nature. Whenever I wander amongst the trees or sit by the stream, my inner child returns and starts seeing the fairies again, the magic that lies in the small things. I hug trees and joyfully scream while bathing in the cold water, I howl at the moon and talk to the little bugs in my garden. And it's just wonderful! =)

    I slow down by making time for my hobbies, such as painting. And I don't take it too seriously. It is fun to play with the colors or to explore new techniques or mediums. Hobbies, I have learned, are important to a happy life. They aren't a frivolous waste of time but essential to a fulfilling, fun, and joyous life.

    You're so inspiring! When in need to slow down, I go for a walk by the Seine (I live in Paris) and find myself a perfect spot to read a book. Or I walk the streets admiring the little details of the medieval buildings. Or just sitting on the terrace of a good cafe, watching people go by and wondering where do they come from, what do they do, etc. ❤😘

    Aww Helena your joy for life and warmth of character just radiate off your face. When you hugged your husband from behind, that’s just the best feeling to me. To embrace your loved one and envelop them in the assurance of your love for them. 💛 You’re so abundant with your love and your light, it’s a pleasure to be on the receiving end of it or to just be near you I am sure. Thank you for your wisdom!
    Things that make me feel lighter: little wicker baskets, glitter gel pens, sunflowers, reading classics (and observing that so much of what we might feel or experience has been felt or experienced before, and thus we are never truly alone), roses and botanical gardens, looking at rippling water, sunshine, observing dew drops on leaves…. Ahh the details ☺️

    “Seeing every challenge as a teacher.” Such a good statement. We all have our challenges in life. Having a good sense of humor has gotten me through so much. The ability to be able to step back and assess a challenging situation and bring resolve to it, whatever that may look like, and then be able to move on. Some things in life can be repaired but some things we simply hold broken, and that’s ok too.
    Thank you for this lovely video. Sending you much love❤️

    Totally agree Helena, it's how you look at the world and how you value things. I love nature walks, noticing and taking photos of beautiful scenery, flowers, trees. I've just been on a walk today and took pictures of lemons 🍋growing in the trees. This is what chills me out, and makes me feel more joyous! x 😊

    I feel as we grow up we are made to take all responsibilities (which is right) but it takes away the fun out of our life too. So the one thing I'm trying is to embrace more and more my child like curiosity and spirited self while being aware of my responsibilities. Thank you for this lovely video 💕.

    You are right. When a something comes up that I wasn't expecting I usually think hmmm oh well never mind and face it. If it is broken I fix it if it can be or accept oh well its gone now and let go!! We can't stop change as nothing stays the same. Every ending has a new beginning. I make each new beginning as happy as I can not letting anyone dim my light. Love life and it will love you back. Thankyou from New Zealand.

    You deserve so much credit for this wonderful inspiring video! From the beautiful opening scene's, where you capture the light that shines on nature so well, to your enthousiastic speech in the end. I do realise that your enthousiasm you display there, might be to overwelming for some people, where they even will be discouraged because they can't picture themselfs there. The steps may be to big for them. But you are absolutely right in sharing it this way! Enthousiasm can only be transfered with enthousiasm! I admire you for it, and thank you again for sharing.

    • @helenawoods
      @helenawoods  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Mo! 💕 Oh yeah, my enthusiasm may turn a lot of people off! For sure. I've honestly been experiencing this my entire life (my enthusiasm and excitement for life can be triggering to some people), so it's nothing new. But it's way harder for me to try to be less enthusiastic than I am, and I don't want to hide my honest self with others, even if I am overly saccharine, dramatic and bubbly. The people who are turned off by my natural self are not my audience. Thank you lovely soul, you have such a kind and compassionate heart, and your words mean a lot 🥰✨💕

    • @Mo_Polis
      @Mo_Polis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@helenawoods Don't you ever change ! Never forget you are an example anyway. People that have a hard time to understand the freedom that comes with enthousiasm, have admiration for it too under their skin. ;-) and will try to get to any sort of level of it in their own time and terms. Wishing you a wonderful day. Until the next time! (thank you for you answer)

    My goal was to start reducing my working hours. Now it has been a long time that I don't work anymore on the weekends. My goal now is reduce again soon. The pandemic is a vacation for me. I was so tired sometimes. Not enough vacation time from my current job. For me it's to able to do what I want to when I want to and how I want to. Take a long walk while listening to a book. Taking a coffee while watching something interesting. For a lot of people the pandemic was the worst thing that could have happened to them. For me it was the best time of my life. I did look what I liked about my life and I did make changes to improve it. Since 2000 until 2014. I didn't take any vacations. So this was really a reset. Why? Because where I was living there was no unemployment insurance. So if I didn't work. Well it was difficult. So I never did stop. But I was not doing farm stuff. But it was work also. But work I really loved. Not many people did go to work and then did go to the beach after. LOL. I was working for me. So I created my hours and my salary. But it didn't pay me much. But it was easier this way. You really need to do something that you love. Your salary should only be a source of income. If you have just this one. You already know what could happen.

    Oh life ! How beautiful to hug someone from behind or just to be hugged !!
    There is nothing better than that. Or to receive a kiss on your forehead !!
    I wish I can scream to the world, how I need someone to hug or to hug me !!!
    Not even the trees or the birds make me smile anymore... It is a scary feeling.
    To be alone all the time, when you have so many people around you or near by, is so sad, so scary !!
    I need and want to move from where I am, but I just can't. Not by myself.
    The economic part, the situation we all are going through, my leg health, not having friends visit me, not having a car to go sell my Kokedama plants and my beautiful bonsais make me so sad.
    I need someone to embrace me; someone to tell me that my light, my spirit and my hands are so valuable !!!
    That is all .

    • @helenawoods
      @helenawoods  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can't be positive all the time. You allow yourself to go through the full spectrum of human experience. I recommend EFT tapping, meditation, dancing, physical movement, writing. Own what you feel and find tools that help you. For me personally, EFT tapping is a game changer. I've written a whole blog post about this on my blog.

    Helena I think like you as well - eg. Oh I am so sad today and crying, this is so interesting, I am a little baby and I get hurt so easily... It's time to grow little one.
    I think you will be able to relate to this, haha. 😂

      haha I love it Sakina!! :) Yeah I can totally relate - as a highly emotional and sensitive person, observing myself and my thoughts / emotions from this curious and observational perspective has been a really helpful tool for me 🤗

    im sorry my sweet I wish and pray i could be so optimistic but when you have children to support and a mortgage its not just 'perspective and a '"challenge" its actually difference between destroying others lives of trying the best to scrape through and keep it together for those you love

    It's okay to laugh at life when you have food in the cupboard and health. It's ok to go on wild adventures when you don't have a full time job and responsibilities. #reallife

      Hey! How do you know my cupboard has food in it? Have you been there? Are YOU the one stealing my hot cocoa? 😂 Everyone knows about "responsibilities" - we all have them. But do you know about....the bare necessities? Here let my friend Baloo tell you about them: th-cam.com/video/08NlhjpVFsU/w-d-xo.html
