Thank you for this. Gaining strength and confidence in using the pinkie is the bane of every beginner bassist. This tutorial is going to help scores of us. ✊🏽💪🏽✌🏽💜
So I’ve been playing for awhile and always had trouble incorporating my pinky and I guess I never realized how much tension I had in my arm, this helped a lot so thank you
Thxs Ted. Learning a lot from your tutorials. Any ideas on how to improve coordination between the ring and pinky fingers? The pinky wants to fly and when I try keeping it down or close to the fretboard ring want to get lazy. Loving your videos. Please keep making us better.
Last time my Husband and I had a Discussion about the Ring-/Pinkyfinger in Playin on Bass...Since I am a "Self-taught Bassist" I was kinda unsecure. Thank you for this one🙏
Right off the bat, love the energy my friend. I came to your vid as I'm really struggling with opening my fingers out, I'll dominate with one finger only. Maybe my fingers are weak?
@@TedTalksBass i'm hoping practicing every day will help with strength and calluses but I need my fretting hand to be doing the right stuff before the wrong techniques become a bad habit! Still watching the vid haha :D

Great video….and T-shirt ❤
I love fundamental tutorials. It is so much easier to LEARN good technique than it is to UN-LEARN bad technique.

I'd to hear more about slap- double pluck... some exercises to increase clarity and speed

The level of depth is absurd. THANK YOU for taking so much time and care into creating this!
Dude I really appreciate that comment
I appreciate YOU bro!@@TedTalksBass
Thanks for the tips Ted, i really like that rolling the finger to the next string...definitely going to incorporate that one.

The technique I struggle the most with is alternating plucking fingers. I have a dominate finger that wants to do most of the work.
same. surprisingly it's my pointer and pinkie that fret most comfortably, struggling to get it in my head that i'm allowed to use the other two
