This is one of the most creative, gorgeously shot, and well acted shows ever produced. I’ve never forgiven Netflix for not giving us the full 5-seasons that Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij had planned for us.

Just as soon the story really started to roll faster and deeper into the story. Never had a series I was so invested in and related to... a sci fi series a someone can relate to is weird.

@utkarshtiwari5584 I watched this like 3 months after it came out my boy put me up on this and I was like wait wtfffff are u serious bro. And it got sooo good this is truly as stated "one of the best acted.. written and portrayed story from beginning to end .. how they use the flash backs with Homer and the others and then jumping to OA showing everyone in her "new home'' after being rescued how to perform to open up the NEAR DEATH scenario and escape to get back to Homer and all ❤
This was one of those shows that I absolutely loved but completely understand why others didn't enjoy it. It's weird and pretty niche but had me hooked from the start. Think i've rewatched the first season 3 times but when I heard Netflix cancelled it I couldn't bring myself to watch it again it was so sad. Might go back and rewatch both seasons for the heck of it now though.
The most frustrating part is that they left the show on such a huge cliff hanger. I'd still watch both seasons if I were u. The second one is even better.
I remember this series "The OA"!!! This is a GREAT Sci-fi & Mystery seriies that keeps you glued to the screen!! The first season was Superb and the second season got better even at the end! I think the season ended on a cliffhanger and then I heard the series got cancelled. I was VERY Dissappointed that there wasn't closure with the series. I would highly recommend watching this series!!!!!
I was deeply upset when they cancelled this show i love shows that you have to think this one took me way outside my box and i loved it
"The OA" is a terrific series, up there with Sens 8 for complex science fiction/thriller ensemble with heart. it stopped after 2 seasons (like Sens8) but felt like it could have gone another season to really wrap up its concepts.

Well, lots of things, but I am sick of this format: "We start a show, throwing ideas and subplots, and if we decide that we are not earning the money we expected, we throw the thing to the trash can because we don't respect our audience's time and investment".

Just watched both seasons the other day for the first time, The OA. It was honestly really good but was disappointingly cut after 2nd season, definitely worth a watch if your into things like parallel universe and different dimensions n stuff 👌

It must be shocking to be declared dead and then suddenly 'resurrect' and enter a new world. What emotions and thoughts do you think the main character might have had when she crossed the threshold into another dimension? And what would you do if you were in her shoes?
This is one of the best/creative shows since Lost. Watch this if you like good things.
The cafeteria scene at the end of season 1 is embedded in my memory.
The interpretative dance scene? Bigger let down than the finale of lost.

@@daytradersanonymous9955 Yeah, several times becoming extremely close "knocking on heavens door", and 1 time I went through it. Due to an incurable deadly illness. About 6 NDEs and 1 RDE (real death experience)
Oh and you can definitely tell when you have had your heart kick started via resuscitation, or via the paddles. It feels like a tank was parked on your chest.

Britt Marling, the girl who played the OA, actually created and wrote the TV show. She also created & wrote 'Another Earth' and 'The Sound of My Voice'. The latter being almost as good as OA.

I didn't like the way the series ended. IMO, it was a cheap way out.
How did it end? I can't spend another 20 mins of my life watching people flail like a jellyfish stung them.

Traveling to another dimension may not be physically possible at this time, but having you conscious travel to a parallel dimension might be possible. We just don't know if there are people in the world that might been a visitors, if they say they are. people will probably put them in a psych ward. 🤔

Well, that seems a little extreme.
Not gonna lie, the OA triggered a 2 month psychosis episode for me. The premise of the show mentally fucked me up, dying and travelling to alternate universes. If you struggle with derealisation or anything like that, i reccommend treading lightly if you watch this.
If you take the door of of your child's room you need to be put into a pysch ward for tormenting a child like that
The lesson is: don't listen to crazy people.

the OA and Sense8 being cancelled were two of the worst mistakes ever made, both shows were incredibly done and kind of similar to each other, but amazing sci fi shows nonetheless.

So is she blind or not? First she’s a kid and can see, then dies and has the weird witch angel lady take her sight, comes back to life blind, then meets up with thos parent figures and she has her sight back, THEN she is blind again when taken to the dudes basement NDE experiment? I’m so confused.
No no, so she can see as a child, dies and because she chose to keep living her sight was taken. She was blind when kidnapped, killed by her captor and the being/woman in the star room felt pity for her and gave her her sight back.
If she was blind how did she get out on the bridge?
The bridge scene was after the doctor threw her out of the car.

It would be if it was an actual movie, but it was a mystery series that had 2 seasons and was quite popular. A lot is lost in context/ translation in this 👆 video, so it sounds bat 🦇💩😁.
My experience, if somebody don't like a movie it's because they didn't understand what was spoken about at all.
