      The radio at Amazon uses 2 AAA battery. Is it the same radio you reviewed?

    I sit here in the company of others who look forward to a guy in Chicagoland talking about portable radios, DX tuning AM stations, and comparing the radio size to Iron Man playing cards. I think I have found my tribe - the Todderbertarians.

    Thanks for your video reviews, I'm not very fond of radio, but I like your presentation, I'm also trying to learn English and it's a great pleasure to listen to you, thanks again, friend.

    Nice radio. I prefer the analog dial to digital. Nicer looking and they don't burn out like the one did on my C Crane radio.

    I like the suitcase form factor rather than the brick. The Prunus is at a better price currently. My Mesqool CR 1009 PRO is very good on all counts, but still I like this and the V1 & V2 Voyager models by Kaito.

    Thanks for the review . The sound is just acceptable but we cannot expect more from a tiny loudspeaker . Those protruding buttons on the front are not a good idea , easily breakable . I will probably buy the Prunus J-369 which has identical design ( I need a small radio to bring along when travelling ) .

    You need a Green Hornet deck of cards for Kaito radio reviews 😂

    One downside of the replaceable rechargable battery design is: it is the single point of failure - if any part (not the battery itself) related to that power source goes down, all the rechargeable ways (solar, hand crank, usb) become useless (unless the radio can work without a battery), while the other one with dry battery have 2 sources of power

      This radio has a dry battery compartment as well: th-cam.com/video/26SCgfhjRTo/w-d-xo.html

    Seems to have better reception and slightly better sound than the Fospower v1 emergency radio. Can't decide between the two. So far Fospower pros: lifetime warranty, waterproof, smaller, prefer the way the reading light is positioned and the big rubber light button. Cons; 2000mhp compared to 2500, poor am and weather band reception, AAA batteries instead of AA and no earphones jack, plastic is rubbery which might get scratched overtime. Everything else is comparable both are solar powered and crank and can recharge phone, have sos mode. They would be perfect if they had an alert mode. Which one would win in your opinion?

    Unboxing , can you please do a video on how to actually charge batteries by solar ? Do you need to push a button to begin solar charge or do you simply flip up the solar panel and it charges itself ? Thank you !

    • @todderbert

      The Dynamo is more efficient. The mA the Solar panel provides is limited to keeping a fully charged battery topped off. The solar is always active when the switch is set to Lithium.

    Can this radio charge 3 AA lithium rechargeable batteries ?

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, just its internal battery. unless you had an external charger, and you were using the USB output.

    Would not recommend this as an emergency product at all. Definitely not very reliable compared to other products on the market .
