RIP Olivia! Thanks for honoring this legend. By the way, ONJ did all of the vocals for this song. The ladies in the back were miming to Olivia's own backing vocals.💗

By far my favorite Olivia Newton John song. that crunchy guitar, the melodic base, that stomping beat. probably as hard rock as she ever got, but still beautifully melodic and so powerfully sung. Underrated song, imo. so glad you reacted to it.

On that same album she did a cover of "Give Me Some Lovin" which was the hardest rocking song she ever did.

One of my favorite tracks from ONJ. This song/album came right after Grease in 1978, so technically it was still in the 70's, but a definite turn in her image and sound. The album was called "Totally Hot" and dang! was she ever!

    • @bradsouthers7476

@@reactionextraction That's the music video business. This was not a live performance. The audio is from the album track, and the video is just lip sync over that audio. Meatloaf's Paradise By The Dashboard Lights is another great example of this... the lady on the video singing with him is not the one who is on the audio. That doesn't make the performance any less enjoyable, though.

This video was made 3 years after the song came out, during the “Physical” era. There is a promotional video on TH-cam of this song she did to promote the album that this song came from (Totally Hot 1978). Btw…ALL the backup vocals are her, just dubbed. Her voice was angelic.

I loved Olivia, she was one of my favourite singers growing up and I loved Grease and Xanadu - I was just a kid when these came out but my mum had her country records before that and we sat watching her gain 4th place in Eurovision when Abba won it, in 1974 ( I was 3! and remember it). She was also a great person and it's so sad she's gone. This song is sexy and cool - I loved when she broke out of the girl-next-door Country star to this; just like Sandy in Grease.
