Man the way you tell the stories is crazy. I remember probably 80% of every video. Some bits and pieces get lost in the fray, but you honestly make these people known. They aren't just victims in your stories, but real people that went through horrible things.

Steven, Cary's brother, was an amazing person and had the empathy his brother completely lacked. He was abducted and held for 7 years being constantly raped and assaulted. It wasn't until the kidnapper brought in another little boy he just abducted that Steven knew he had to escape with the boy. He didn't want this little boy to go through the absolute hell he had gone through. I drove alone from Washington state to California and I had a creepy experience. I stayed at a motel in one of those small towns by the 5 fwy. For some crazy reason my motel key card kept malfunctioning. So I kept going back to the front desk. Finally, the guy in the front desk was asking me if he could come over to my room to “fix” the card. I declined politely and stayed in my room the rest of the night barricading it. It just felt wrong. Carole must have felt the creepiness when Cary Stayner knocked on her door with his lame “excuse.” It’s ok to test all things to see if they are true. It could save our lives.

I cannot imagine being the girlfriend. I’m sure her blood ran cold hearing that he wanted to k*ll her daughters, too. I would never date again. I wouldn’t trust my own judgment enough to ever bring anyone new around my kids. On top of that, I’m sure she carries guilt about the others’ fates. That whole aspect of this story would be incredibly difficult to carry for the rest of your life. I hope she’s doing well and all three of them have had great lives since then. It’s just heartbreaking that two other young women were just about to start the rest of their lives.

If a "maintenance man" wants access to your hotel room, call the managers first to verify, and always tell them you want maintenance done when you're not in the room. As a person who lives with PTSD, I would like to thank you. It's confusing to some people as to why I sleep with your stories playing.... and it's kind of hard for me to explain, but your voice is comforting, and as creepy as your stories are; they aren't my memories. One of my most disruptive symptoms is intrusive memories of the trauma at bedtime and you drown it out. The stories are engaging enough to distract my mind and your voice is soothing enough that I can sleep to it. I am quite sure that I am not the only person who uses your stories for this purpose, and I just want to say thank you. It's really very difficult for me to find material that actually works for me sleep wise (it seems to be exclusively creepy/true crime in story format with Male narrators). Thank you for uploading so prolifically. Sleep is essential for being able to manage my other PTSD symptoms, and it's the difference between being able to manage productively and everything going sideways. If I stop getting enough sleep, things get weird.

Good advice. If a gun is ever pointed at you, rush the robber. They won’t expect you to not comply and it will catch them off guard, ultimately giving you the upper hand. Though if you are woman, this might be easier said than done, but it is possible. Aim for the nose when you tackle them, this will cause them to be in a state of shock and then wail on them until they are either unconscious or dead.

If the front desk needs to get in your room at midnight they can send a police officer to speak with you about it. The front desk could easily be in on your demise so don't trust them either.

If there was an issue, we essentially had to book them into a separate room and then address the issue after they had vacated the room in question.

I was robbed at gunpoint with my boyfriend by 2 men. They dragged him back to their car and the other rummaged through the truck as I sat there. I was smoking weed and had taken a Xanax so I was not coherent and it wasn't processing. He grabbed my purse and then pointed the gun at me and told me to get out of the car. I did. Then I razzed him and started Sassing off saying "you gonna kill me? Kill me. You'll be doing me a favor. Do it." Then he told me to get in the bushes. I refused and said "no, not happening. Take what you have there and leave." I kept harassing him. He called back to the other man asking what to do with "this b*tch" his friend said just leave her. They let go of my boyfriend and he got back in the car. We proceeded to go to my house and call the cops. I survived because I wouldn't comply and it really threw that man off. I'm thankful every day I lived. It could have been so much worse.

I think this episode is a horrible but unfortunately very real warning to all women that we really do have to look out for these types of people with dark intent that see women as something to be controlled used and abused. Listen to your intuition. For example: if you get a bad or nervous feeling about someone or something trust it and: get out of there/ don't open the door if it doesn't feel right/ don't go out that night/ whatever your intuition tells you. Trust yourself if it feels off and don't endanger yourself and anyone with you.

The only reason he was found was because he was returning a child to the police station. Maybe that is what also made Cary becomes so jealous of Steven. But they didn't disappear inside Yosemite. Their car was found at the motel and they never showed up that started the investigation
The murder inside Yosemite was easily and quickly found to be a murder.
The Missing 411 cases are beyond bizarre or any rational explanation (that we know of yet) and leave absolutely no traces or clues. There were tyre tracks leaving the naturalist's cabin, a clearly defined trail of someone running into the woods, and a grisly murder scene. The 411s often are never found and cannot be located even by expert trackers, scent dogs, FLIR helicopter or even leave any indication they were even in the park
Or disappear then turn up in a place searched dozens of times previously.
I realise it may look like there could be a serial killer explanation to the M411 cases but once you look into it enough, considering that as a possible explanation, you realise it's just not possible. It's just not humanly possible to vanish someone like that and leave zero trace in the way those cases often transpire. If there were I think the police and FBI who often work those cases not to mention the many thousands of people acquainted with the subject would have been able to prove it by now after these many hundreds of years of eerily similar disappearances fitting that profile.
Possible human abduction is ruled out of a M411 case early on.

@@justachick3114 it's easier to be a regular murderer than a serial killer nowadays so I doubt this. SK's are usually compulsive in one way or another. Since data is openly shared between states, it's not possible to commit the same kind of crime in different states without it being picked up by algorithms. Once it is, the profilers start looking at the cases. They're eerily good.
One way a killer could escape this would be my varying the method of death. Now, that may seem simple but, that SERIOUSLY increases the chance something is botched on their end. It would be like performing a complex song in front of thousands of people but, you don't know the song until 5 minutes before the show. Sure, great performers can pull it off but can they do it perfectly every night? I don't think so

I remember every time the news came on I would run to the TV hoping for an update. Sadly the update was something no one wanted. To this day, I am so sad to think that Julie and Sylvinia never got to grow up and become mothers, wives careers. Carol never got to meet her grandchildren. Jules Armstrong never got to live as well. Honestly, the moment someone goes to rob you and says "this is just a robbery" and tries to tie people up, is when you fight for your life. From watching another youtube channel I learned that most of the time, robbers just want a quick victim to steal from and get out asap. If something like this happens, there are way more bad intentions involved. My mom always told me, if someone tries to force me to go to another location or tie me up, fight for my life because thats all I got left, and nothing else waits for me, other than a bad ending.

OMG, I just realized that Carey's brother Steven is Steven Stayner from that 80s TV movie, "I know my first name is Steven." There was an image of Merced in this story and that's what popped into my head.
Then, MrBallen mentioned a brother, Steven, who was abducted for 7 years (by Parnell), and THAT'S when it hit me. I NEVER forgot about that movie and to know this connection literally made my heart jump.

They must be so angry with police for initially arresting the wrong people in the murders of the 3 ladies, leaving the real killer on the loose. Hopefully the sicko will be fully punished soon.
