appreciate the compilation! i would say while there are definitely a few nods here and there (like the worm in the animal sanctuary in episode 2), generally, most of these things aren't references but are just things i'm interested in or find funny and end up making it into my work a lot. that said if you're looking for stuff to find, there's a good amount of hidden gags (like Mr. Frog drawn on the wall of Pim's parents house in episode 1 or Glep becoming president in the future in episodes 3 and 8) but those are mostly in the background and not so much in the characters dialogue or story aspects.
You have a precious, precious brain Zach. I am glad you have many wonderful outlets for all the funny little gremlins and creatures that dwell in there.
Genuinely love what you and Michael have created. It almost feels like a spiritual successor to Hellbenders in a way. I hope for many more seasons to come.

It ends up being funnier because the scene had just the right context to make the rest of society find it just as funny. Cause it's less intense than the scene right before it and technically they're resolving a threat. It's still funny without context, but Chris is right that I think the implication of the mom going home seeing the kids ripping apart an innocent animal would probably be a more divisive setup than ripping apart a demon that was previously terrorizing Pim.
