@1:57 "why are they not willing to give it a chance" Well, maybe because "giving it a chance" comes with a 70 - 130 bucks price tag? It would really help if developers offer demos again to figure out if a game is for you or not without risking so much money. Just to be clear I don't "hate" the game, I am just unsure about it after watching many reviews. I guess I will wait for sale . Until then probably some of the issues the game has might be fixed.
if they are asking to gave it a chance, its clear they dont believe in what they are selling..this never happened back in previous eras of gaming from what i recall ..there was no gave this game a chance bs..sure maybe on some lesser known game that was good and didnt sell well..but apart from that...
Why do people hate Ubisoft games? because they are exceptionally good at making games that are exactly what we want, while having just enough fatal flaws in the games to make us hate the games. whether that be through micro-transactions, weird mandatory online single player games, odd mechanics, games that arent finished at launch, bugs that completely make the game unplayable, or just completely empty open world games. Ubisoft makes great games that always come up short in at least one way that just kills gamer enjoyment.
@@sebfleebee no, I’m basing that off of my other Ubisoft games I have played. Ghost recon, assassins creed, far cry. I didn’t even know they were releasing or had released a Star Wars game until this week.
@@Grandmastergav86 I mean you’re taking that first sentence too literally. They produce games with a general premise that we as consumers would want, while killing the project in some way. Skull and bones is something people wanted, but was executed very poorly. Ghost Recon Breakpoint was exactly what I wanted from a new Ghost Recon game, but then they added gear score and levels like a fantasy RPG game. Filled it full of micro transactions. Didn’t carry over any of the basic mechanics from the previous game like vehicle driving/piloting, gps routing, or even usable night vision. They make games that check the boxes for theme, setting, and play style but miss on almost every other aspect.
This is such a weird perspective that completely ignores the truth that people do not want the Ubisoft game even if it was fully bug free. People are bored of doing the same inane tasks with the same boring rewards and no conpetant writing, narrative or quest design. It has nothing to do with lots of minor flaws or even major ones. The community has proven time and time again that it does not matter how broken your game is as long as the game itself is interesting. The most obvious examples being Fallout 4 and Skyrim, 2 games that are to this day covered in thousands of design flaws, lazy game development, terrible writing and also a bug every 5 seconds with a gane breaking bug every 5 hours. Meanwhile "the ubisoft game" cant keep players regardless of how stable the games are. People are sick of the fact that you can list the mechanics of a western AAA open world game when it gets announced. People are sick of games coming out that are just Assassins Creed 2 but with a star wars skin this time. Coming at this from an angle that the games are what anyone wants is what we call cognitive dissonance.
Many of the comments from people that don't like Ubisoft games complain about the economics, like price and micro transactions. This is likely due to the economy around the world and how people are experiencing it. We can't go to the store and complain in any meaningful way about the price of groceries and you can't go online and give the price of rent a 1 star review. With games people have voice and power to complain about something deeper than just the game, but the economy in general. I think we all feel the overall weight of inflation and see it as greed by that feeds the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and poor. The majority of people are living paycheck to paycheck and "greedy" game companies are an easy target for the frustration we are all feeling. I really liked star wars outlaws and I don't agree with the hateful rhetoric trying to tear down Ubisoft. I really hope people put aside their pre-conceived notions and give it a try even if you just wait for a sale.
People seem to like to dogpile on games now in a hate storm online when a good percent of them never even really tried a game and will post comments like "it's just crap" etc, without giving real criticisms of it. For me when I see a game I am interested in I both ignore reviews and comments on it until I tried the game and made up my own mind about it, than I will see what others have to say about it. This way I don't become biased from other peoples opinions online which is a very common thing now.
I can’t really afford to get every game that I’d like, and I need nuanced takes. I have other channels for the intense backlash, and I am grateful for a thoughtful take. I especially like the part where you said that the IP associated really has a major effect on your response. Initial bias plays a big part, but I cannot overlook what I feel is a major disease in the development community - forced release of games that aren’t ready. I know the consumer (myself included) is a major factor in this problem, but I am tired of the wait. Thank you for the video, I will take it under advisement.
"I don't understand why they are not giving the game a chance" - ugly protagonist - no real gunfights - old woman beating up armored well trained dudes with armor without any sort of effort - an open world without meaningful content - silly stealth game-play - stupid story - ... Now you understand?
@@michaelfreeman6921 I watched people playing it. I always do, for all games. I never purchase a game without knowing how it plays. I never preorder, because preorders are a scam and for st***d consumers.
Dude what an idiot you are. Games are games. What about Nathan Drake making genocide of all paramilitaries organizations? Or Any freaking shooter / stealth game where hero kills 200+ enemies in an hour? You don't seem concerned. Or stellar blade? Tomb Raider, where Lara cries over the deer, after she killed like 20+ men? Fully equiped, trained? You hate because idiotic youtuber told you so. That's it.
I haven't played it yet because it's not on Steam yet (I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't either). But I'll bite. - ugly? I don't think so, but beauty is largely subjective - videos I've seen don't line up with this - this is a classic star wars issue and you can find people talking about it from years ago, not only is storm trooper armor not good but the training isn't great either. - open world games fall for this a lot, you definitely could be correct here - most stealth games have silly mechanics - once again subjective "Now you understand?" Not really, it seems like the usual grasping at anything to hate for almost no reason. I will say that if half of the people who say the game is bad have actually bought the game it'll probably do well. But I suspect most haven't. Like I said above, I'm waiting for Steam and I doubt I'm the only one. Maybe I'll be disappointed when I finally play it, but I can be certain it won't be for most these poorly defined "reasons".
I re-entered gaming late 2020 and played AC: Valhalla. It was fine. Then I played The Division 2 and thought it was more than fine. Afterwards I played Wildlands & Breakpoint back-to-back and fell in love. I don't understand the visceral reaction some people have when discussing Ubisoft. I've heard their reasoning, but I don't get it. Star Wars Outlaws further proves I must be out of touch with a very large portion of the gaming community because I absolutely loved it.
“When did we go from trying to enjoy games despite their flaws, to immediately hating them because of them?” What a fantastic question! Really appreciate your balanced take on things. Big fan of the channel, Bloo. Keep up the great work!
When those flaws stopped being flaws and instead turned into ways that Ubisoft tries to convince us to spend our money on their shitty micro transactions.
@@beepbooploot when those flaws weren’t there because they were small issues missed in development, but major problems that should have been hashed out before release. When companies started pushing shit out faster than they could QC them to see if the game even functioned properly. When games got so filled with micro-transactions that you can’t even use certain colors for character designs without paying more money. When games like Halo get released and you can’t even play co-op online from launch and instead have to wait another 6 months to a year to use basic features. When games started to get steered by companies like Sweet Baby instead of the actual producers and game developers. When single player DLC got the shaft for online multiplayer weapon skin packs.
When those flaws are not flaws anymore, they are such obvious, brain dead game ruining elephants in the room and the developer don't try to fix them because they don't want to waste time and money. It is obvious that any person with tiny amount of knowledge would see those issues which are also very fixable.
This quote resonated with me too. Video games are an overwhelming positive aspect of my life, a well-needed respite from the stress and tension of the rest of the world. It's hard to even enjoy games with other people these days, because it seems like the discourse for the vast majority of releases are centered around how *this* release is the death of the industry, and why you shouldn't enjoy it. If you don't like it, vote with your dollar and don't buy it. If enough people share your point of view, the industry will change. But don't fart in the dinner of the people actively playing and enjoying the games.
I agree with your points that ubisoft games can be fun. They aren't for me but I can see why many people are fans of there games. bt you miss the point about ubisof hate is, that not specific the games themselfs are hated, but ubisoft itself. people expect constant improvement, cause that is what is expected of them from everyone (at work for example) and if they percive no improvments to previous critics they get frustrated. expecialy when it is marketed to them as a premium product (AAAA) and for a premium price. people wonder why they should by the new 130€ game when they can by a similar game that is 110 years old with the same mechanics for a third of the price
Ubisoft essentially re-released their Assassins Creed and Far Cry over and over but with more 'shitification' with each iteration. The writing became an attempt to please and pander everyone which ended up appealing to no one. Star Wars is also in a terrible spot right and I would argue that the brand is failing. The latest mess is Star Wars Outlaws which looks both bland and unattractive. A label that fits the games protagonist and environment. Their next Assassins Creed is an attempt to pander even harder, written by an expert of gay-fanfiction (no I did not make that up) based on the questionable work of a single historian. My prediction is that it will fail badly. Then the usual defenders come will come out of the woodwork. The cycle of shitification, pandering and failure continues. As others pointed out, 'giving a chance' with this price tag and DLC strategy is not going to happen.
Its an "ok" game. Not good not bad. And that is the main problem. You have to pay $70 (if you dont count the subscriptions things) for a game that is not even complete. You pay for early access, and what do you get from that? Maybe 2-3 skins, and you are beta-testing the game for the others who bought it for "only" $70.
"When did we go from trying to enjoy games despite their flaws?"....it was around when developers started to tell us what horrible people we are for not buying their propaganda...it was then...
11:52 quite the understatement when you see that their in game store is heavly pushed from the start of the game as wel as features stuff that breaks the fourth wall regularly like outlandish skins that make 0 sence in the games setting like valhalla
There will always be individuals who voice complaints about things. Consider it. Even if you create a flawless game, there will always be someone who will find something to complain about. It is impossible to please everyone. Does that imply that Ubisoft performs flawlessly? Certainly not. However, they remain present, offering support. Personally, my love for Ubisoft stems from my history obsession, as every Assassin's Creed game they produce is incredibly fulfilling to me. Only one real-life illustration. I traveled to Tuscany, Italy. The day I hired a car, I drove to Monterigioni. The town was lovely, but without playing AC 2 prior, it wouldn't have the same charm. I also acquired a jacket from that place. I still possess it. And the credit goes to Ubisoft. Perhaps to some people this idea may seem foolish, but consider it next time you travel to destinations such as Greece, Egypt, the Caribbean, Turkey, etc. Once again, for me personally, this is the primary motivation.
Before steam you had to get a physical copy which basically meant Indie games were not really a thing in that scale as it is now. While most Indie and Double A games are not open World games they are still competing with Ubisoft games as they're cheaper or have a unique Ideas and gameplay mechanics. On the other hand Ubisoft is also competing against games with a similar (or bigger) size and budget like Baldurs Gate, Elden Ring, Black Myth Wukong, RDR2 or the upcoming GTA6. Since they usally boil their games down to the lowest common denominator I find it hard to find anything interesting in them, a unique gameplay mechanic or a something fresh but they also share the production qualities you'd find in some of the high profile releases we had over the past years and its not just bugs or glitches, they're games feel just not quite there yet. I don't hate Ubisoft games, or any other games i just feel apathetic towards them as they don't have something exciting or special, they sell a setting and a game that is not bad, not great its okay.
As unpopular as it is to say, i like the Ubisoft formula, and I genuinely really like Outlaws but I think it came out about a year too early, because while certain areas are really well made many others feel like they are only just reaching bare minimum, and that's not even taking into account the glitches and that the graphics are far below the Ubisoft standard, compare this to visually to Far Cry 5, 6 and New Dawn, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Origins, and Unity and this game is graphically far behind all of those I mentioned, Avatar in particular made by the same studios is better in almost every aspect
I agree with your point about lackluster areas (particularly the last third feels a bit rushed to me) but, with all respect, you can't say the game looks worse than any of the games you mentioned. There is something to be said about the facial animations (which freak me out almost every time) and the art design. The game looks absolutely phenomenal but what I think takes it down a notch compared to the games you mentioned is the art design or rather the choice of locations. For example, in Far Cry and AC you have striking outdoor enviroments (and more variety to those environments), Avatar is in a beautiful jungle etc. In SW:O you have a city and a field, snowy city in a nightime, a desert and a jungle (that you only travel through really tight roads). I would bet that if you were to create all the games you mentioned in the SW:O Snowdrop engine, they would look a lot better than they do now - case and point is Avatar being created in the same engine.
@@Filipfill123 there is no way you think Outlaws is in anyway close to looking as good as Avatar, using Unity as an example maybe slightly harsh, but the others are far better graphically, Avatar graphically is alot closer to Hellblade 2, Horizon Forbidden West and Alan Wake 2 than it is to Star Wars Outlaws, Star Wars maybe looks phenomenal compared to last gen games but for this generation the graphics are at best average for AAA games
@@anthonysmurthwaite6258 I know (at least I think I know) what you mean by Avatar looking way better. It is a far more "vibrant" looking game than SW because of the amount of different vegetation, colors etc. That comes down to the art direction and the world itself. Avatar's world will always be more pleasing to the eye that the relatively realistic looking SW. Hellblade 2 and AW2 are phenomenal looking games but, in my opinion, it's not fair comparing open world games to linear games. And, I agree that H:FW looks gorgeous but I think that world is more stylized than SW.
@@Filipfill123 I'm not referring to how the art style looks, I'm referring to texture fidelity, they don't look nearly as good as most recent Ubisoft games, and that makes the game game look worse is that it's ridiculously inconsistent, the major CGI cutscenes look really good but when just exploring Toshara there are so many textures that significantly higher quality or significantly lower quality than the major, if you just roam around the cities then the game looks pretty good but outside of cities there is far less attention to detail, in contrast to Avatar which has loads of attention to detail everywhere even in the most mundane places, I played Outlaws in fidelity and performance and the fidelity did look alot better but still not anywhere near the way of Far Cry 5, 6 or Avatar but the framerate of fidelity mode was atrocious rarely managed to reach 30 while on foot in uncrowded areas and got nowhere near 30 while on the speeder or in cities. Framerates and lacklustre graphics don't bother me usually but when it's inconsistent it makes it look so much worse
@@anthonysmurthwaite6258 I am sorry but that is objectively incorrect. Avatar can't look that much better because it is the same engine, the graphics pipeline is the same. What might be throwing you off is that Avatar is first person.
No, they're not "actually good". People who claim they are good either have no decent games to hold as a point of comparison or they have exceptionally low standards.
If we are generalizing, then ubisoft has one thing going on its favor: its licensed titles are far more enjoyable than their in house franchises, generally speaking. Yes, there's a clear template ubi games use for which I got jaded well over a decade, and they cant avoid it. Their games are built on their frameworks after all. However, sometimes the implementation nails a certain feeling. AC1 may be the proto ubi title with most repetition and radiant stuff, but it nails a certain feeling that most open world games since then dont achieve. You just need to traverse the desert and seamlessly walk in jerusalem after seeing it from the top of a cliff on the road to "get it". Padding out the gameplay usually helps to make these games more tolerable. I also like to disable the UI whenever it doesnt render the game unplayable. If ubi made the worlds and systems more lived in like bethesda games then maybe they would be more engaging. When I think AC I usually think about pressing forward on the left stick to mindlessly traverse set dressing while I collect 500 feathers. I would enjoy more if I could engage more in the world, feel like I actually live in watchdogs' san francisco or in valhalla's britain, instead of numbingly collecting stuff and ticking boxes in well designed maps.
a rly good example of a game that pulls off the “ubisoft formula “ would be like the stalker series or hogwarts legacy the difference is they have more player choice and overall more interesting gameplay experiences
I think you summarized pretty well the situation. Although keep in mind that internet is what it is, and hating is easier than having a logic conversation where you bring in facts and opinions, respecting what others think. Plus for youtubers and influencers; jumping on the hate bandwagon means easy money... People are so easily manipulated on these things that it takes very little to open a channel, make it a "hate/reaction" channel and easy money pour in. Instead make a channel where you actually put efforts in it explaining things for what they are, and you end up getting hate. This is how internet works, because this is how people for most part behave, when there is no accountability. Beside that, the game is OK; and most ubisoft games go from average to good; but beside Black Flag and the first AC, I have hard time remembering a game that really made me say "this is the best thing ever". I play them for a while, then get bored as they take too long to finish. I do not follow the 100% achievement, but I want to finish the story, and if there is too much to do and too many distractions, I drop the game, as it dilute too much the main story. Games like Jedi fallen order or God Of War are way easier to finish, as they are linear for example. When they make the main story interesting and short, and then have interesting side quests you can play after finishing the main story, that is where I see the sweet spot.
Formulaic or not, games are only fun when they let the player figure out solutions to problems by themselves. When platforming is more or less automatic and requires no skill, or when the main character drops the solution to a puzzle before you even had time to figure it out for yourself, or when you don't get to explore anything for yourself but only need to follow quest markers... That's when it gets boring.
Theyre very good at making good worlds. This one was really pretty and well done. it really looked like star wars, down to the minor details. and i wish bethesda would take some notes on how to make cities from them. people are overhating it. however the gameplay content of what you can do outside of main quest is oddly lacking, combine that with a big lack in play variety of gameplay and builds. its a very weird choice. Its like building a Lamborghini, but you exchange the original motor for a 80hp, 1.6L honda civic motor. Now some movies are great but theyre best watched once. and maybe thats the case here. the gameplay felt oddly bethesda like. Now bethesda use procedural work to rough in worlds and animations, to be able to cover such large games with relatively few people. its why people think betheda is a lot larger than they are, thinking they have a lot more workers than they do. but i dont know why ubisoft went with a lot of the same techniques and have a lot of the unpolished stuff when they had twice as many people working on this game as starfield. I think if youre looking for a han solo experience this is a good game. and to the people who hate formulas, your favourite movies follows formulas, your favourite songs too. Formulas arent the issue. The issue is people who make games, hands on, and play them; dont run large corporations. And every idea have to go through 7-11 levels of middle management
It's astonishing how detailed their worlds are. Every dang assassins creed game has an amazing World. I recently started playing wd1 with "original content restored" mod and my god it isn't anything like 2012 showcase, because it's FAR better. Wd2 's san francisco and legions London are sooooo good. Although gameplay wise legion dropped major ball.
Ubi puts out consistent 7-8/10 games but the gaming community has decided that games rated like this are bad when in reality it just means they are good but flawed not to mention letting their hatred of said company influence their opinion of said product, happens with Blizzard and Bethesda games too
Nah mate for the last 10/15 years Ubisoft model is very short story 10% and the remaining 90% is the same activity/filler content just to say its a big game ,, wish I was delusional
No need to sugercoat it, we won't buy it. The game is bad. And it is overpriced as well. But it doesn't mean you can't buy and enjoy it. Although it means encouraging bad, overpriced games in the future.
People dont want to even they Outlaws because we have all already played it. If you have played any assassins creed, far cry from 3 onwards, ghost recon, the crew, even non Ubisoft open world games have started to copy this. Your statement that all open world games follow a formula completely avoids the point. The point isnt that there is a formula, the issue is that the formula has remained unchanged for 15 years. Any time I give an ubisoft game a chance I enter with an open mind. Without fail this results in me quitting an hour after the intro, because suddenly I am bombarded with the exact same objectives in the same order as every other Ubisoft game. Even the Crew, a DRIVING game had you climb towers to unlock the map. Enjoying these games is completely fair, but you cannot argue that these games are good. Stagnation is in direct opposition to the concept of good art.
I can’t speak to Outlaws, but Ubisoft has made some of my favorite games. AC Origins and Odyssey are fantastic, and Farcry 6 is the best in the series. I guess I just like that type of game. And that’s just it, games are subjective. People just love to hate.
Fun and well rounded? Bhahahahahaha I played Assassin's Creed Odessay for free in my cousins Ubisoft account and I still felt robbed! Some of the poorest game design I ever seen. It was so bad not even the amazing production values could not save it. You will not see ancient greek cities in their full glory in any other game, yet even that was still not enough to save the game experience for me. I still get PTSD about getting fucking smacked around in my heavy armor by a skinny guy wearing a towel cause he is 2 levels higher than me!
How dare you talk about the actual content and design of these games and not just hate them! It feels to me like people are looking for games to fill their lives like they used to when we were younger and when they inevitably can't, because they are just games, people get very angry.
We hate Ubisoft games because their games are overpriced, bugged out, empty pieces of trash and the only way to let them know that they f'd up is by showing them that we are sick of this crap and they won't get any money this way. Also Ubisoft said we should ge used to not owning our games, so they should in turn get used to not own our money!
Oh man please dont use the "you dont have to do it" argument. The issue isnt that the game is tying you down and forcing you to do inane tasks; the issue is that these boring, repetative quests that are the same quest in every single open world ubi release and they require development time. Development time that could and should be put towards coming up with and implementing at least 1 idea since 2010. Your entire video just seems to ignore the fact that Ubusoft style open world games are failing while all other open world games are succeeding in spades. Elden Ring, zelda, cyberpunk, no mans sky All of these are hugely popular open world games. They are also all massively flawed games but people still play them and dont play ubisoft open worlds, so whats your explanation for this? You seem to blame the concept of open world games i stead of the developer despite the fact that open world games are more popular than ever but ubisoft style open world games are dying
The most disappointing thing about Skull & Bones is that I would have LOVED a new, full on Ubisoft pirate game, taking Black Flag and turning it up to 11.
Well if they take the same amount of money as GTA 5 and still give a mediocre game, then its just not value for money. Even the gameplay is unintuitive; same old grinding and repetitive gameplay which doesn't experiment with anything new like GTA 5 or nier automa etc. There are some iconic missions people remember in games like GTA and Mafia, because they were unique, every mission was unique. But games like Far cry, etc... damn its so fkin annoying to play.. its absolutely boring after 1 hour of gameplay. Dont get me wrong, the games are fine, the story is good.. but the gameplay specifically is not.
I don't like them because the people in charge of ubisoft are pieces of shit and for what they did to assassins creed after origins but i like the far cry games except for the last one
They're the McDonald's of gaming. Solid, dependable games where you know what you're getting, with bits of true innovation the entire market silently adapts as standards.
Ubisoft taking away the game.. people who suffer the most, will hate them.. then they will hate everything that they will make. I bet most negative/hate on this game, comes from actually these people who suffer that Ubisoft take away theri old loved game, and also those ppl who aren't smart enough to actually trust only themselves and play the game to judge. Then those people, making videos about a few bugs and unpolished things (yet), and then the game seems to be bad, because they showed only bad things.. Just trust yourself. Judge by your own experience.
Its the same ,every game ,,there open world model is the same for the last 10+ years ,, short main story , then 200+ hours of filler content just go here and get that no proper story ,, just so they can say the game is long Nd has lots to do ,, we need to stop the same repetitive side quests/activities it got boring 5 yrs ago
outlaws isn’t bad it’s just rly rly rly mid for an open world star wars game they chose a rly safe boring character and story a mando bounty hunter or a game you can choose your own path would’ve been an easy W and ubisoft knows that they just want to inject their politics and and appease a mythical broad audience that all being said the game isn’t bad just could’ve been much better.
The problem is that game is already out there, Star Wars the Old Republic is free to play and you can do it solo with old school Bioware stories with 8 separate class stories, companions, romance, different ships, space combat, races, 20+ planets with open world design and their own stories for republic and the empire each.
I think it's fine not to like Ubisoft or their games, but this mindless hate train people have been running on everything they make is getting tiring. Sure, they make a lot of bad and greedy decisions, but it's unfair to write off the hard work of all their designers.
Ubisoft is the best AAA developer making AA games selling at AAAA prices.
Calling them AA is brave
@1:57 "why are they not willing to give it a chance"
Well, maybe because "giving it a chance" comes with a 70 - 130 bucks price tag? It would really help if developers offer demos again to figure out if a game is for you or not without risking so much money.

"I don't understand why they are not giving the game a chance"
- ugly protagonist
- no real gunfights
- old woman beating up armored well trained dudes with armor without any sort of effort
- an open world without meaningful content
- silly stealth game-play
- stupid story
- ...
Now you understand?
Did you play it?
@@michaelfreeman6921 I watched people playing it. I always do, for all games. I never purchase a game without knowing how it plays. I never preorder, because preorders are a scam and for st***d consumers.
>Ugly protaginst
Have you met a woman in real life, like, ever?
Dude what an idiot you are. Games are games. What about Nathan Drake making genocide of all paramilitaries organizations? Or Any freaking shooter / stealth game where hero kills 200+ enemies in an hour? You don't seem concerned. Or stellar blade? Tomb Raider, where Lara cries over the deer, after she killed like 20+ men? Fully equiped, trained?
You hate because idiotic youtuber told you so. That's it.
I haven't played it yet because it's not on Steam yet (I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't either).
But I'll bite.
- ugly? I don't think so, but beauty is largely subjective
- videos I've seen don't line up with this
- this is a classic star wars issue and you can find people talking about it from years ago, not only is storm trooper armor not good but the training isn't great either.
- open world games fall for this a lot, you definitely could be correct here
- most stealth games have silly mechanics
- once again subjective
"Now you understand?"
Not really, it seems like the usual grasping at anything to hate for almost no reason.

“When did we go from trying to enjoy games despite their flaws, to immediately hating them because of them?”
What a fantastic question! Really appreciate your balanced take on things. Big fan of the channel, Bloo. Keep up the great work!
When those flaws stopped being flaws and instead turned into ways that Ubisoft tries to convince us to spend our money on their shitty micro transactions.
when the price got so high on the games. No room for half measures when game is 100 dollars.
Your videos are great, you have interesting, grounded and fair takes on games and that is sorely needed, I wish you all the success with your videos!
Even Ubisoft hates Ubisoft games.
Because people are stupid and ignorant.
It would help if you actually gave some examples of games you consider "decent", since you have such impeccable taste.
@@nocny007literally anything before 2016 can be considered better games and value for money
Shhhh! You're supposed to pretend it's bad!
It is bad. There is no reason for me to pretend they are bad I want to enjoy games and have fun with them. But they simply are
shhhhhhh.....ill
I mean it is horrible so
Formulaic or not, games are only fun when they let the player figure out solutions to problems by themselves. When platforming is more or less automatic and requires no skill, or when the main character drops the solution to a puzzle before you even had time to figure it out for yourself, or when you don't get to explore anything for yourself but only need to follow quest markers... That's when it gets boring.
I've had great value from ubisoft games, never paid more than £2 pre-owned.
Very Good Point.
Ubi puts out consistent 7-8/10 games but the gaming community has decided that games rated like this are bad when in reality it just means they are good but flawed
not to mention letting their hatred of said company influence their opinion of said product, happens with Blizzard and Bethesda games too
Very well said.
Nah mate for the last 10/15 years Ubisoft model is very short story 10% and the remaining 90% is the same activity/filler content just to say its a big game ,, wish I was delusional
Also u said consistent 8/10 for Ubisoft , 5/10 is average ,, Ur saying every Ubisoft game is super very above average ,, 😂
At last! Tattooine in a star Wars game!
Valhalla is probably my favourite AC game, never understood the hate that game got!!
Buggy game that never seems to end
The level of mediocrity against the budget and price of their games is unacceptable
Are you getting AC Shadows.
Definitely!

People will look back on outlaws fondly, and wonder why it was hated. Just like all the other past Ubisoft games
You hit the nail on the head with the one.
Their games cost an arm and a leg and provide poor quality, boring story and buggy gameplay. Ubisoft is a horrible company
Elden Ring, zelda, cyberpunk, no mans sky
All of these are hugely popular open world games. They are also all massively flawed games but people still play them and dont play ubisoft open worlds, so whats your explanation for this? You seem to blame the concept of open world games i stead of the developer despite the fact that open world games are more popular than ever but ubisoft style open world games are dying
Consistent 7-8/10 games imo. Big fan but skull & bones was a $10 mobile game, getting sloppy
I'm positive if Shadows and Outlaws came out 10 years ago they would be called, "Hidden gems" by now.
Your voice fits the topic well.

The game is average it’s not good but it’s also not bad either.
