- Bartender dropping the glass - Wood Board almost falling on Ruby - Tyrion falling thru the roof of that building - Ironwood catching Winter fighting Qrow - Ironwood almost getting attacked by the Griffin Grimm
Christopher Charles also his waitress running into tyrion and the log rolling out of the fire at the end of this episode, maybe even the Grimm attacking yang and rwby when they were younger
Katsuo Neo Exdeath and Cloud of Darkness tried to return the world to a state of nothingness, Salem is likely to be trying to destroy the world to a state of nothingness like the darkness god wanted too. Yeah I can see that.
Andrew Rogers The Final Fantasy villains for the most part only rely on brute force. While Salem is more than capable of the same, she chooses to understand and exploit human psychology to devastating effect. She strikes her enemies both physically and psychologically, a combination more terrifying than anything I've seen from the majority Final Fantasy camp of villains.
thag maybe the 4 main charactera represtents 4 relics and when they are together they are unstoppable and thats why i think in previous volumes ,the enemy ( general dark side) tried to seperate team RWBY and now they ream RWBY as they are seperated they start to learn about it and make themselveselfs strongef ( i guess ???????? XD )
I honestly more though: Atlas as source of innovation: Knowledge Vacuo somehow?: Creation Vale already destroyed: Destruction Mistral may have an opportunity to 'join the dark side': Choice
Well there's no doubt that Watts is at Haven and engineering it's destruction the way cinder did at Haven. He may even be the headmaster but I doubt it. He's probably a professor. He's called "Doctor" Watts.
One of the only things I know for certain was Qrow's semblance was that beam that was going to fall on Ruby in 4x7. The rest is pretty much pure speculation that's probably true.
there was a video that points out most of the things that could be bad luck. the glass dropping at the bar, ironwood stopping winter, ruby and yang both losing during the video game, the bartender seeing raven go through a portal, nora and ren both getting beat up when they were trying to help qrow, tyrian getting distracted with the bullets, tyrian falling through the collapsed building, the wood that was gonna fall on ruby, tyrian's tail getting cut off, and the wood coming out of the fire could all be qrows semblance at work.
While I wouldn't call it manipulation, and it still wasn't something Ozpin did on purpose, they picked someone that would never think to turn them down.
Jaune didn't help. He reminded her of who she was, which only drove her further toward that choice. Essentially, she was thinking about maybe going against who she was, but Jaune inadvertently stopped her.
+buca117 There's a difference in that though. Ozpin and the rest knew what they were doing when they pulled her into it. Jaune didn't know anything about what was going on. He was just trying to explain his feelings for her, and to help her feel good about herself.
The raven isn't a sign of good fortune. Normally they are a sign of despair and sadness. She leads a group of raiders, to pillage and wreck havoc, leaving behind sadness and grief, that is then devoured by the grim. Raven and Qrow. Despair and misfortune. I can't wait to learn more about their past.
Salutations, friends! Just to reiterate, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for continued and undying supporting of my videos during 2016! I owe you all so much for changing my life, and I aim to do bigger and better during 2017 to show my appreciation! This chapter was incredible and shed so much light on unanswered questions, while presenting just as many new ones: Did Qrow's semblance get Summer killed? How did Ozpin link with Oscar? Is Salem a descendant of the God of Darkess? Etc. All in all, I hope you guys enjoy this info dump of a reaction video and remember, I'll be doing my livestream discussion of Chapter 7, 8 & 9 this upcoming Sunday, Monday & Tuesday evening, respectively!
Qrow's theme from the last episode (some words might be wrong, hard to hear through the background noise. Only once the OST releases will we know if it's right, but it gets the point across) Pain Is your reward for being near me Fate Won't be your friend when I'm around Fade Before the the tragedy that follows Flee The situations I surround I'm a hole in light I can not lie I will change the color of your life I don't mean to bring you grief But I will, just wait, I can't explain I am no one's blessing I'll just bring you harm I'm a cursed black cat I'm an albatross I'm a mirror broken Save yourself I'm your bad luck charm
I'm pretty sure that they won't. With Penny and Pyrrha and even Roman while it was sad they died for a reason, but it's not Qrow's time to die just yet. As a wannabe writer killing Qrow off this soon wouldn't make too much sense.
The possibility of his death is in a neutral zone as of now. They can kill him and develop Ruby or they won't kill him and he'll live to die another episode. His death is very likely in time, as is Ren and Nora's. It may be strange but I feel as though one of them will be dead by the end of the season. Could be paranoia or could be foresight. We will have to wait and see.
I'm calling it! The Shallow Sea and The Girl In The Tower will be relevant later! In fact, I'm theorizing that The Girl In The Tower is a maiden! I'M CALLING IT NOW! THE THEORY WAS MINE! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!
don't you think it would be to obvious if these are 4 real stories out of 4 mentioned fairytales? besides "the girl in the tower" reminds at least me of a fairytale of our world.
@@journey9411 im 3 years late but whatever "the shallow sea" might be refering to where the sea dragon grimm came from which might explain why it grew wings
An important note is that according to Qrow/Ozpin's story about the gods, the Grimm were created before mankind for the purpose of destroying everything the God of Light created (plants, water, etc). According to the Grimm WoR (told to us by Salem), the Grimm ONLY target humans and don't even fight other animals unless it is for territorial reasons. There is a clear difference in the stories here, and we can't be sure which one is correct, or even if one of them is correct at all. Neither Salem nor Ozpin have been known to tell the truth all the time, they both keep things hidden.
Well, Salem said the Grimm have been around as long as or longer than humanity. Also, maybe they originally targeted all life before humanity came forth. The brother Gods left the world after creating humanity, so the Dark God was not around to control them. The Grimm found humanity to be the greatest source to feed off of, and left everything else alone and focused on them. That, or Salem showed up and redirected all of their aggressive destructiveness towards humanity alone. She's definitely old enough to change how Grimm work and be the only one to remember how they did things in the ancient past.
My personal theory is that Taiyang isn't really Ruby's father, she looks nothing like him, and that her real father was Qrow. And that Qrow's semblance is what got Summer killed. Seems a little too coincidental that she was the only member of the team to die. They probably spent more time together than as a whole team. That's just my thoughts.
Wow calm down m8. I have followed RWBY since the Red Trailer first aired at the end Red vs. Blue Season 10, but I did not know of that tweet confirming that. See, I was not *that* into rwby or Monty's work at that time and I've been out of the loop almost since vol. 3 ended. Thanks anyways.
Just because she doesn't look like him doesn't mean he's not her father. Ruby gets her looks from her mum, and Yang gets her looks from her dad. It's pretty natural.
I was concerned that Qrow would die when he went for a walk because of what happened to Leone in the last episode. I was hoping she'd make it, but my dreams were crushed.
MiMiLock well the anime fucked up and just killed everyone i was so pissed when they killed tasume and made akame fight esdeath like no! That was his fight and they did it again in the manga at least this time he didn't die
So happy to support you man, not just in content ways but as a person. Hope 2017 becomes another strong one for you. Keep going man! :D Now, to enjoy this reaction with some birthday snacks XD
''The legend tells, that the souls of the dying will be transported into the realms of death by a crow. But if something really tragic happened to one's soul before death and the soul cannot rest, the crow brings the soul back into the realms of life, so they can bring the fight to those who did them wrong...'' - The Crow (1994) There you have it: Qrow will turn into the literal Crow, complete with harlequin paint and black clothes!
OMG! You cracked the code! *"But if something really tragic happened to one's soul before death and the soul cannot rest, the crow brings the soul back into the realms of life, so they can bring the fight to those who did them wrong...''* Who does that sound like? Pyrrha! Ruby was there when she died. Qrow found Ruby. Ruby is hearing Pyrrha's voice in her head!!! **jumps up and down like a maniac** Pyrrha's soul couldn't rest because of the whole Cinder/Amber/Fall power thing!!! ........Well, that was fun. Do I think it could be true? Nah. But it is interesting! :D
The entire chapter 7 fight in between Qrow and Terrian was filled with clues to what Qrow's semblance is. I would consider going back and re-watching it because there are so many examples of Qrow's semblance that with this new info seems obvious, example the plank of wood that Terrian falls through, Ruby missing her shot and the plank of wood that falls and almost hits Ruby. It's all their. Even in different episodes it's seen, Ironwood catching Qrow and Winter fighting, the bartender dropping the glass, the bartender telling Qrow that he's a lucky guy and (maybe) the grim that almost ate Ironwood after he said that the area was clear.
3:42 "Gather 'round the campfire, kids." aND SING OUR CAMPFIRE SONG OUR C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G SONG AND IF YOU DON'T THINK THAT WE CAN SING IT FASTER, THEN YOU'RE WRONG BUT IT'LL HELP IF YOU JUST SING ALONNNNNNNGGGGG
Happy to support you good sir. You are literally one of the biggest, if not THE biggest RWBY fan I've ever seen and I appreciate that. It's cool to see :)
Man, we'll always believe in you because we know what you're capable of, you're amazing, kind and real, that's why we love you. Your reaction videos are amazing, even RoosterTeeth thinks so, don't worry about anything, you've gotten this far because you're amazing, so unless you stop being you then we'll always be here.
@MurderofBirds Qrows "Bad Luck" was when you think of it, already shown to us when he was at the Bar in Vale, when he left the Bartender broke a Glass :P And there is actually a Theory arising that Raven might be the opposite, Luck - given the Waitress got him Top Shelf (and flirting) so...if thats the case i hope as long as Raven is around he doesn't die xD
I'm guessing the ninja faunus is a chameleon, because the hairstyle seemed like the chameleon's tail. And it would make sense for a chameleon to be a spy, considering the camouflage. I've been preparing myself for Qrow dying this volume since before the volume started. And every chapter made it more possible. In Spanish we use the same word for both Raven and Crow (i know they both translate as "cuervo", but because of that i don't know what's the difference between them), but it's considered that they bring misfortune and death. And i remember someone commenting (i think it was in a Facebook page) that a raven is a sign of death.
"Their souls become combined" Like Ozpin and Oscar. Or Cinder and Amber. Wait, so Amber is inside Cinder's head right now? Is she talking to Cinder like Ozpin is to Oscar? Is Cinder the "I'll eventually turn good" villain!?
MurderofBirds I definitely did enjoy it 😂 I always come to watch ur videos so I can make sure I didn't miss anything, ur really good at explaining things
I have a theory: Vale guards Knowledge Vacuo guards Choice Atlas guards Destruction Mistral guards Creation The societies and cultures are influenced by the power of the relics they guard, and those influences can be seen throughout the kingdoms in which they reside.
I agree with you on that last bit. I just disagree with the order: Vale guards Knowledge (Ozpin:"You assume *knowledge* will free you of this..." and Glynda:"...with the skills and *knowledge* to protect our world...". If you look, you'll see, there are many more things that point to Vale guarding knowledge.) Atlas guards Creation (Inovative/Progressive culture. The only reason Altas is thought of as destructive, is because of recent events and the situation with Mantle. But despite all that, it is always creating new technology.) Mistral guards Choice (culture of art and fashion/also has an underbelly of thieves/murderers/& the black market) Vacuo guards Destruction (the school was founded after the great war/presumably after the destruction of Vacuo's paradise. Also, it's in a desert. There are famines. Things can burn and die very easily. Qrow:"If you can survive here, then you're welcome here.") That's just my list order tho. :P
I only have five words about this episode: They Kill Qrow, We Riot. I fell in love with Qrow right out of the gate, even harder when I heard his voice. it's gonna kill me if they kill him
So...I have a theory to share with you. I tried to post it on RoosterTeeth, but it seems to be hidden from the public (In both discussion and comments). I won't say this action proves my theory, but it's strange, at the very least. So here it goes: *Spoiler by the way* A lot of shit went down, but something about the Maiden talk stuck out for me. Qrow kept going on about how the maiden's power is transferred, and that had me reflect for a second: "Regardless, their souls become...combined, in a way." This might just be me, but that kind of sounds like subtle foreshadowing. Like RoosterTeeth is trying to blow up a lot of information in your face about gods, silver eyes, and Qrow's collapse at the end of the episode. While they are important elements in the story, this small tidbit of information is what caught my eye the most BECAUSE it was just skimped over nonchalantly. All this, so you could ignore that tiny little hint about the maidens. If this is true, Pyrrha may not be really gone, and her soul is just combined with Cinder. This also may just be me, but Cinder has been seeming strange so far as well (outside of her injuries). I have no concrete evidence outside of gut feeling. I'm not sure how RoosterTeeth plans to carry this out (or make it happen), but I think Cinder may have something to do with the return of Pyrrha in the future, so I'll take my chances and make that call now. What do you think?
The flaw in your theory: Pyrrha's soul was never combined with Amber's, so her soul could never wind up combined with Cinder's. What we do have, is that Amber's soul is combined with Cinder's. Since what we know about Amber is that she's a good natured heroic person, then _she_ would be the one potentially affecting Cinder's behavior, not Pyrrha. Amber died before having her soul transferred to Pyrrha, so Pyrrha did not become connected to the Maiden's power.
Watcher weatherly23 I know Pyrrha never 'actually' had the maiden's powers, but I feel like RoosterTeeth may be throwing a curveball, like they have in the past (which isn't a bad thing, that's why I enjoy it). Again, I don't know how it would be done. Maybe Pyrrha did get a portion of Ambers power that hasn't been revealed, or it could be something that will be revealed in the future. My reasoning is more gut than actual evidence, so I don't expect anyone to take it serious, just thought it would be thought provoking. I wouldn't be surprised if Pyrrha now has some connection with Cinder in the future. There is bound to be a lot more detail behind the Lore in Remnant, the maidens, the gods, etc., so who's to say nothing won't happen or change?
Qrow isn't dying yet. This isn't GoT, where a character dies right as their importance to the plot has begun. He's been pretty much an accessory to the plot until this Volume, where he's finally helping move the plot along. Until he helps Ruby become a true Huntress, he's not dying. Once he finishes her training, he's going to die during the next big battle, but not until then.
Yup. If there is one thing Game of Thrones changed in television, it was making everyone scared their favorite characters were gonna die to make it more interesting.
As a note: Penny did not fit the tone this show was growing towards, so she had to die as a character. Pyrrha's existence was pretty much to start up Jaune's road to improvement and growth, as well as give him motivation to do so. After she finished that, she had to die. Being too perfect is pretty much a death flag, and the moment this show started getting serious that flag was finally raised high. The points of their characters were already fulfilled, so they had to go to make way for the future.
People have pointed out that the fairy tales Pyrrha mentioned in Volume 3 and the book Blake was reading in Volume 1 are all in Volume 4. Blake's book, which was about a man with two souls, served as foreshadowing for Oscar's predicament. Pyrrha mentioned "The Tale of the Two Brothers", "The Shallow Sea", and "The Girl in the Tower", which are references to the creation story in this episode, Blake's voyage to Menagerie, and Weiss's entrapment within her mansion.
For those who don't do research in how movies are made, the characters that get in-depth detail about their past and life and who they are, means they die in most cases. it's a cheap way of killing someone off cause you don't care for them as much as like pyhrra cause we learned about her through the intire series so don't be surprised when or if he does die. I don't want him to but I'm expecting it. you have to remember that these people are no different than any other company when making a show, either on TV or the internet.
TRN Tony that's not entirely true, you get detailed information about a lot of characters in stories, even fantasy stories ,that don't result in death especially if they are integral to the story.
emanymton713 well if you would actually read the comment all the way through, I said mostly, it's a big possibility but they may let him live but their is a lot of evidence like him falling "asleep" on the tree. I can understand why you say that cause I don't want it to be true but just prepare your self so you don't go shoot somebody(lol) when he does die(if he does)
This just makes me more curious about Qrow's past. It's like... **imagines younger Qrow** "Aw, did you get a paper cut, baby Qrow?" **One day later it's infected** "Aw, that's unfortunate." Why did Qrow not have girlfriends, you ask? **montage of all the horribly unlucky things that happened to scare them away** Flu going around school, you say? **Qrow catches it** What bad luck. **the rest of Team STRQ catches it a few days later at the same time** QROW, STOP IT!
that bird is not raven. qrow JUST said his semblance is bad luck. the crow follows him cause "its always there". also when he spoke to raven in this volume its been a while since they "caught up" (raven said this). remember in vol 3 when qrow told yang that raven "tries to keep in touch whenever it suits her"? that means: That crow isn't raven nor can qrow morph into it.
Oooh! This just reminded me of Fairy Tail. SPOILER ALERT..........There is a bad guy in that show that was about to be crushed. He switched places with one of the heroes through some kind of teleportation. Maybe it's something like that? So, where Qrow was standing he teleports to where the bird was and vice versa. That, or the crow can somehow absorb Qrow, carry him, and drop him off. Teleport him in, so to speak. IDK. LOL
Dude if there's one thing I can say about you, YOU are the type of fan I dream of having for my own series I wrote and published last year, just the amount of passion, the dedication, the interaction you have with everyone, it's incredible. Great reaction as always, can't wait for next week, for both the episode and your reaction!
thesupersonicstig But what if poison from tyrian's tail is the answer,it did get cut off so if they can go and pick it up they can maybe make an antidote
My bet is that if something can heal Qrow, apart from some miraculous antidote, that's Jaune's never fully revealed semblance. We know he can heal wounds and stop attacks dead at times, so maybe he has some "remedy" semblance of sort.
Just kinda realized that this has been the most information dump volume of RWBY so far. We get introduced to a ton of new characters (12 by my count so far), we see a lot more of the world of Remnant, we get more background on a lot of existing characters (Weiss, Blake, Qrow, etc), we get more villains and more info about their plans (not to mention new grimm), and now there are freakin GODS!! This show just keeps getting bigger and better!
It's always nice to see someone else notice the Soundtrack cues, Alex Abraham and all the team that works on the OST has done a fantastic job this Volume; when "All Our Days" kicked in during that scene I teared just a bit(knowing the contents of the original song)
"She's like beyond Grumpy Cat" I freaking lost it dude XD Btw, when is that X-mas video coming out? I still don't know if my package even made it to ya!
There are very few reaction channels, MofB, that I bother to watch on a regular basis. I come back to this channel over and over again because you are not shy about wearing your heart on your sleeve, not shy about reacting in an explicit and emotional fashion to very poignant content, and always forthright and open about your initial impulses about each and every thing you watch. Whatever other areas you decide to try out during 2017, I hope you are guided in these areas by the same basic precepts that govern your surprisingly compelling reaction videos. This, after all, is what makes your channel unique.
How do you feel about Blake's borderline abuse towards Sun? I mean, it's hard to call it anything else. It's an understandable reaction for Blake to have, like 'wtf Sun you really going to eavesdrop when Blake is only just letting her guard down?' but her assaulting Sun is really unfortunate and I'd argue is even abusive.
Boglenight sun did listen to her conversation with her father which was totally wrong even if he did it for the right reasons so like you said Blake had every right to be mad while she did not have to hit him again like you had said which makes her wrong for it but that does not mean she had abused him it means she over reacted
Zaierra Maynard Zaierra, I'm just going to ask you to close your eyes and picture Blake being male and Sun being female, would you still say that isn't abusive?
Murderofbirds I love your reactions. When I watch your reactions it adds so much more emotion and feelings than I showed when I originally watched the episode and it's as if I'm watching the episode for the first time again but better
I love how your always shocked at the end of the episode when it leaves on a cliffhanger, 70% of episodes always end like that but you get so into you get shocked. It's fun to watch
6:05 Silver Eyes, gonna build on that: V3ep12 - "your special the same way your mom was" -Qrow "And when they fail and you turn to your smaller soul, know that you send HER to the same pitiful demise" -Salem V4ep1 - "we've dealt with their kind before. How is it that a novice was able to best one of us?" -Hazel Salem/ her group killed Summer confirmed??? • And guys! Qrow isn't gonna die! Think about it logically for a moment. (I did a little research ) The poison from Tyrians stinger was meant for Ruby, and he was instructed to bring her back to Salem alive. It takes scorpions a lot of time, effort and energy to produce their poison, so if he intended to use it on Ruby but hit Qrow, he shouldn't die, (hopefully) it probably hurts like hell though, and he is also bleeding out the poison. But on the off chance he does, we riot. Great reaction, by the way! I love these videos!
I'm with you on that Murder. It's a trope I've noticed in a lot of fantasy and sci-fi stories (which, honestly, I would say RWBY is a combination of both): when the mentor character shows up or jumps in to help the hero, the mentor has marked themselves for death. It doesn't always happen immediately, but they do always die after they've done so: *Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope -- Obi-Wan sacrifices himself to Vader so Luke and the others can escape *The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring -- Gandalf sacrifices himself to hold off the balrog so Frodo and the Fellowship can continue their quest (true, Gandalf comes back, but he does technically die first) *Conquest of the Planet of the Apes -- Armando (Ricardo Montalban) kills himself in order to protect Ceasar *Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix/ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince -- (This one I use as an example of the mentor still dying, but not immediately after showing up) Dumbledore shows up to save Harry from Voldemort during the battle of the Department of Mysteries and dies a year later (which also happens after saving Harry... again)
Theory time: Ravens and crows are both considered birds of ill omen; maybe it's one of those "family semblance" things like the Weisses. What if it doesn't start to emerge until after the birth of offspring? Raven's semblance would have put Tai and Yang's lives in danger; that might explain why she left. That still doesn't explain "the Tribe" to us, but it's a piece of the puzzle. I get the impression that the two Gods agreed to leave Remnant forever after creating Man, the Relics, etc. But the thing about Darkness Gods is, they cheat. Maybe Donnie Darko created Salem and left her behind with a mandate to destroy. Or maybe Salem *_is_* the God of Darkness. And as for Ozpin, here's a bit of wild, unfounded speculation: The God of Light, realizing that his brother would try to pull something, left Ozpin back on Remnant, just in case.
Ravens are associated with both the Greek god Apollo (the god of prophesy) and the Norse god Odin (god of wisdom), and in both religions they are specifically associated with good luck
I don't know how people are still denying that the venom is lethal in some way. I'm not saying Qrow will die, they could always counteract the venom somehow, but come on. He is bleeding purple blood, and coughing it up! The Venom screwed him up something fierce.
Crimson Jace If Tyrian intended to strike Ruby it shouldn't be all that lethal. But I'm guessing he striked Qrow because Ruby Bish @$$ made him left his guard down.
Ghira Belladona is the kind of father that all people would want to have: Strong, Caring, Supportive, Honest, a First Citizen that looks out for what is best for his people. it is very fitting that Blakes' (Black) chromatic polar Weiss (White) has a father that is the complete opposite. Possessive, Controlling, Deceptive, someone that only wants to gain power regardless of who stands in his ambition
ruby is qrow's daughter, that's why he looked specifically at her when he saved her from tyrian, why he said family and looked directly at her and why raven turned her head to look at him in bird form. He can't endanger her life but doesn't want to be the father that's never there. Also why yang, looks like her dad and ruby is so different is cause she looks like her dad. Also both girls were trained by their dads to fight like their dads. Also why ty never talks about summer and only qrow knew about the silver eyes, cause he was with summer and she told him. Re watch the last episode of season 3 and every conversation ty has mentioned ruby since, he doesn't know ruby as well as yang and when qrow askes for a min with ruby he leaves so her father can have some time with her.
After learning about Qrow's semblance, I'm re-evaluating every scene I've seen him in. Maybe that's how he tricked Tyrian into jumping onto the weak wood so easily. Maybe that's how he arrived in time to stop Cinder from absorbing all Amber's powers. Maybe that's why the bartender dropped the glass. Maybe that's why he's a solo Huntsman.
dude you have the same thought as me. When he was talking about being a bad luck charm and looked at Ruby when he said Family my mind went to "He was there when Summer died and blames himself for her death"
Dude, no need to thank US. We should be the ones who are thanking YOU for giving us such an amazing viewing experience and so much other amazing content. You're the one who does all the great stuff, we just flock in to watch. So thank YOU, Arnold. You bring us all great happiness, and we can't wait to see what else you have in store.
*nerding intensifies* EVERYTHING MAKES SO MUCH SENSE WITH THE SEMBLANCE REVEAL! From the bartender at "Crow Bar" breaking his glass, to Qrow winning all the console games on vol 3 ep 4, to the griffon attacking Ironwood in the finale; the sarcastic comments about luck in v4e4 both with the waitress (as you mentioned) and when he's shown killing grimms, Ruby missing her first shot on Tyrian, the "lucky" punches on Tyrian, making Tyrian fall through the broken ceilling, even the unstable log that broke and was falling on Ruby.... *giggles histerycaly*
MurderofBirds, I just want to say that I love your channel and your reactions. You were the one that actually got me into RWBY and I want to thank you for that. I'm completely into this show. Thank you for leading me into the world of Remnant and Rooster Teeth. :)
Great reaction Arnold, I was just waiting for you to find out Qrows Semblance! it's also probably why he told Ruby to stay back during his fight with Tyrian
one little thing that came to mind when he said bad luck was the bar tender in vol 3 who knocked the glass over by accident, maybe this was the first sign of his semblance
I think Raven's semblance is the ability to see/predict the future correctly. Ravens are seen as omens (whether theyre good or bad depends on the culture) and Raven has correctly predicted the fall of Ozpin and Beacon and so on. If she does know where Spring is then I bet it would be because of her semblance.
Hi, I have been watching RWBY since right before volume 3 started when my son introduced me to it (I crammed watching the first two volumes a week before 3 started). I just started watching your reactions a few weeks ago, and I really enjoy it, because your reactions are so close to mine when i watch the show by myself. Anyway, I just wanted to give a little insight, not sure if someone else has commented on this. You might be right about Raven being good luck, but there is also another mythological thing about ravens. In the mythology of many Northwest Indian tribes, Raven is honored as a culture hero. He is a revered and benevolent transformer figure who helps the people and shapes their world for them, but at the same time, he is also a trickster character and many Raven stories have to do with his frivolous or poorly thought out behavior causing trouble for him and the people around him. Raven is noted for negative traits such as gluttony, greed, and impatience as well as for his heroism and great deeds. In some Indian cultures, the raven is a spirit guide that give clarity... What this would say about the character, I'm not sure, but just throwing it out there for consideration.
I think Raven's powers are most likely prophetic. She can probably see glimpses of future events which would explain why she was able to appear just in time to save Yang on the train or how she told Qrow that she told him beacon would fall and Ozpin would lose because Raven's were considered as signs of prophecy and such. Would also make her a strong leader for her tribe if she can foresee future events even if only a little but also make her arrogant and stubborn to a fault, believing that she's always right and that her path is the only true one.
Hey, Murder. I just remembered. When Ozpin asked Pyrrah what her favourite fairytale was, the first thing she said was "The Tale of the Two Brothers". Dat foreshadow, tho.
- Bartender dropping the glass
- Wood Board almost falling on Ruby
- Tyrion falling thru the roof of that building
- Ironwood catching Winter fighting Qrow
- Ironwood almost getting attacked by the Griffin Grimm
+1 zing! lol
Christopher Charles Oh my. . .
Sweet Mother Teresa on the Hood of a Mercade Benz, thats some foreshadowing.
HOLY SH*T My mind is blown. LOl
Christopher Charles also his waitress running into tyrion and the log rolling out of the fire at the end of this episode, maybe even the Grimm attacking yang and rwby when they were younger
Jaune: Well you're a bundle of help
Qrow: like you where back at that fight
SAVAGE AF! Haha
jmb72390 Jaune might need some ice cause he got fucking roasted
Aaron Mackellar he might need some Weiss, you mean
jmb72390 ren held jaune back and qrow told him to stay back so he was more help than ruby who kept getting in the way soooo yea
jmb72390 GET FUCKED! If Qrow said that, I'd die of laughter.
two brothers are gods of a world that most of the characters are straight out from fairy tails? holy shit Remnant's gods are the Grimm brothers
How did I not think of this
That was literally my first thought when he mentioned "2 brothers".
The brothers Grimm
The tale of two brothers; the fairy tale Pyhrra mentioned in v3 c6.
OMYGOD! I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THAT!
Salem tryin to become a final fantasy villain
LMAO! XD
Katsuo I'm more afraid of her than Kefka, Sephiroth, or any other villain from that series at this time.
Katsuo Neo Exdeath and Cloud of Darkness tried to return the world to a state of nothingness,
Salem is likely to be trying to destroy the world to a state of nothingness like the darkness god wanted too.
Yeah I can see that.
Ninja07Keaton How?
Andrew Rogers The Final Fantasy villains for the most part only rely on brute force. While Salem is more than capable of the same, she chooses to understand and exploit human psychology to devastating effect. She strikes her enemies both physically and psychologically, a combination more terrifying than anything I've seen from the majority Final Fantasy camp of villains.
So, I saw a fun theory floating around on the RWBY forums.
Blake: Knowledge
Weiss: Creation
Yang: Destruction
Ruby: Choice
thag maybe the 4 main charactera represtents 4 relics and when they are together they are unstoppable and thats why i think in previous volumes ,the enemy ( general dark side) tried to seperate team RWBY and now they ream RWBY as they are seperated they start to learn about it and make themselveselfs strongef ( i guess ???????? XD )
I honestly more though:
Atlas as source of innovation: Knowledge
Vacuo somehow?: Creation
Vale already destroyed: Destruction
Mistral may have an opportunity to 'join the dark side': Choice
Well there's no doubt that Watts is at Haven and engineering it's destruction the way cinder did at Haven. He may even be the headmaster but I doubt it. He's probably a professor. He's called "Doctor" Watts.
Cinder did at Beacon sorry. Freudian slip
William Edward that's what is was thinking.
Except I thought of it second.
I wonder if the bartender dropping that glass in the episode Qrow was introduced in was his semblance or not. Hmm.
I think that is pretty obvious now.
One of the only things I know for certain was Qrow's semblance was that beam that was going to fall on Ruby in 4x7. The rest is pretty much pure speculation that's probably true.
it was also terribly unlucky for winter to have ironwood interrupt her right then and there when she attacked him.
Absolutely was! That was their way of foreshadowing it.
there was a video that points out most of the things that could be bad luck. the glass dropping at the bar, ironwood stopping winter, ruby and yang both losing during the video game, the bartender seeing raven go through a portal, nora and ren both getting beat up when they were trying to help qrow, tyrian getting distracted with the bullets, tyrian falling through the collapsed building, the wood that was gonna fall on ruby, tyrian's tail getting cut off, and the wood coming out of the fire could all be qrows semblance at work.
Though Pyrrha technically had could have said no, she really had no choice. She was much too kind and selfless of a person to say no.
That's why they chose her. Pyrrha was emotionally manipulated to be the maiden because she has a hero complex and wouldn't have let people suffer.
They didn't manipulate her how where they suppose to know she had a hero complex? They asked her for help that's it no manipulation
The bringers of despair and misfortune. Man, Tai and Summer being on their team? They must have had an awful 4 years. Lol
Journey Oh wow. No doubt. Like night and day they all are.
Welp, too bad 'cause it looks like you have to keep waiting oof

I seriously hope rooster teeth doesn't kill off Qrow....I am praying they dont
Xyjira Aotiri omg yes I swear if they do I'm gonna cry
I'm pretty sure that they won't. With Penny and Pyrrha and even Roman while it was sad they died for a reason, but it's not Qrow's time to die just yet. As a wannabe writer killing Qrow off this soon wouldn't make too much sense.
Xyjira Aotiri I vote if crow dies we riot
Xyjira Aotiri me to I'm going to cry so much.
I just realized that Blake's moment with her dad was similar to Zuko and Iroh at the end of season 3
Wait. The two Gods were brothers? As in "The Tale of the Two Brothers"?! The Fairytale Pyrrha mentioned in Volume 3 chapter 6?!
Shallow Sea may be a reference to the Nuckelavee. The Nuckelavee is credited as a sea monster, after all.
@@journey9411 well your right on volume 6
@@journey9411 im 3 years late but whatever "the shallow sea" might be refering to where the sea dragon grimm came from which might explain why it grew wings

The fact that you even recognize individual OST is impressive.
Yep, that's what we call a retcon. It's a stupid one, too.
You definitely deserve all of our support!!
Always a pleasure watching with you man!
LightDragonTV i ever think the same thing
@SaviorOfNirn Was it confirmed? Do you have a source?
Wow calm down m8. I have followed RWBY since the Red Trailer first aired at the end Red vs. Blue Season 10, but I did not know of that tweet confirming that. See, I was not *that* into rwby or Monty's work at that time and I've been out of the loop almost since vol. 3 ended.
Thanks anyways.
Just because she doesn't look like him doesn't mean he's not her father. Ruby gets her looks from her mum, and Yang gets her looks from her dad. It's pretty natural.
No, Yang gets her looks from both Parents. She looks like both of them. Ruby doesn't.
no more plot armor. we akame ga kill now
We Akame Ga Kill ANIME* now lol
If that was the case half the cast would have already died by the time vol 3 came around
MiMiLock leone dying was straight bs got shot a shit ton but survived a whole day and got no medical treatment cause that makes sense

''The legend tells, that the souls of the dying will be transported into the realms of death by a crow.
But if something really tragic happened to one's soul before death and the soul cannot rest, the crow brings the soul back into the realms of life, so they can bring the fight to those who did them wrong...'' - The Crow (1994)
There you have it: Qrow will turn into the literal Crow, complete with harlequin paint and black clothes!

@MurderofBirds
Qrows "Bad Luck" was when you think of it, already shown to us when he was at the Bar in Vale, when he left the Bartender broke a Glass :P And there is actually a Theory arising that Raven might be the opposite, Luck - given the Waitress got him Top Shelf (and flirting) so...if thats the case i hope as long as Raven is around he doesn't die xD
There's also the fact that Raven saved Yang "just in time", so that might be true!
Lord Ruyan I don't think so, because if you look closely she has the same horns on her head like Adam does
I'll tell you this much, she is in fact a chameleon, and she has ties to Blake's past(aside from just being a fellow White Fang member, I mean).
"Their souls become combined"
Like Ozpin and Oscar.
Or Cinder and Amber. Wait, so Amber is inside Cinder's head right now? Is she talking to Cinder like Ozpin is to Oscar?
Is Cinder the "I'll eventually turn good" villain!?
:O that's what's crippling cinder, amber's spirit/soul/whatever is in her and conflicting with cinders mind.
probably
When I saw this video I literally just yelled out loud "YES"
HELL YES!!!! I appreciate your excitement! Hope you enjoy it! :)
MurderofBirds I definitely did enjoy it 😂 I always come to watch ur videos so I can make sure I didn't miss anything, ur really good at explaining things
Qrow is not the guy you want at any parties. Police gonna pull up every time. TRUST.
I have a theory:
Vale guards Knowledge
Vacuo guards Choice
Atlas guards Destruction
Mistral guards Creation
The societies and cultures are influenced by the power of the relics they guard, and those influences can be seen throughout the kingdoms in which they reside.
I agree with you on that last bit. I just disagree with the order:
Vale guards Knowledge (Ozpin:"You assume *knowledge* will free you of this..." and Glynda:"...with the skills and *knowledge* to protect our world...". If you look, you'll see, there are many more things that point to Vale guarding knowledge.)
Atlas guards Creation (Inovative/Progressive culture. The only reason Altas is thought of as destructive, is because of recent events and the situation with Mantle. But despite all that, it is always creating new technology.)
Mistral guards Choice (culture of art and fashion/also has an underbelly of thieves/murderers/& the black market)
Vacuo guards Destruction (the school was founded after the great war/presumably after the destruction of Vacuo's paradise. Also, it's in a desert. There are famines. Things can burn and die very easily. Qrow:"If you can survive here, then you're welcome here.")
That's just my list order tho. :P
@@WeegeedSoulz Basically, his guess was only 1 off ;p
Man hearing these relic leitmotifs after vol6 ch3 gives me goosebumps.
I only have five words about this episode: They Kill Qrow, We Riot.
I fell in love with Qrow right out of the gate, even harder when I heard his voice. it's gonna kill me if they kill him
Blake’s father is the type of dad I try and aspire to be, he’s honestly one of my favorite characters
'Be more aware of yourself,' I think you summed up one of my biggest issues with Sun.
So...I have a theory to share with you. I tried to post it on RoosterTeeth, but it seems to be hidden from the public (In both discussion and comments). I won't say this action proves my theory, but it's strange, at the very least.
So here it goes: *Spoiler by the way*
A lot of shit went down, but something about the Maiden talk stuck out for me. Qrow kept going on about how the maiden's power is transferred, and that had me reflect for a second:
"Regardless, their souls become...combined, in a way."
This might just be me, but that kind of sounds like subtle foreshadowing.
Exactly finally someone gets it damn near half the fandom actually think qrow is dying when he just got here
I could maybe see Qrow dying at the end of the season, maybe still weakened by the posion, in some final fight situation.
Then... Sienna Kahn
Y'know, the misfortune thing might explain why Qrow kicked his nieces' asses at the Video Game in Vol.3:Ep.4.
I can understand why you say that cause I don't want it to be true but just prepare your self so you don't go shoot somebody(lol) when he does die(if he does)
TG manga in a nutshell
Steven Universe yea
TRN Tony blakes got more detail on her history and life and she ain't gonna die
This just makes me more curious about Qrow's past. It's like... **imagines younger Qrow** "Aw, did you get a paper cut, baby Qrow?" **One day later it's infected** "Aw, that's unfortunate." Why did Qrow not have girlfriends, you ask? **montage of all the horribly unlucky things that happened to scare them away** Flu going around school, you say? **Qrow catches it** What bad luck. **the rest of Team STRQ catches it a few days later at the same time** QROW, STOP IT!
Lol unfortunately I think it works only on Qrow's surroundings and not himself, or else he would've gotten himself killed due to unluckiness.
We believe in you my dude! I started watching you from the second half of rwby vol. 2, and you've been such an amazing person!
that bird is not raven. qrow JUST said his semblance is bad luck. the crow follows him cause "its always there". also when he spoke to raven in this volume its been a while since they "caught up" (raven said this). remember in vol 3 when qrow told yang that raven "tries to keep in touch whenever it suits her"?
that means: That crow isn't raven nor can qrow morph into it.
What if... Grimm blood is the antidote!?
Grimm don't bleed :T
They are made of goo and evaporate
thesupersonicstig But what if poison from tyrian's tail is the answer,it did get cut off so if they can go and pick it up they can maybe make an antidote
Mateus Alencar Then the stuff Grimm are "born" in? I dunno...
thesupersonicstig Maybe I'm just trying to make a way so Qrow doesn't die
Crows are a symbol of bad luck. Ravens are a sign of good luck, so it is likely as you said.
It's always nice to see someone else notice the Soundtrack cues, Alex Abraham and all the team that works on the OST has done a fantastic job this Volume; when "All Our Days" kicked in during that scene I teared just a bit(knowing the contents of the original song)
"She's like beyond Grumpy Cat"
I freaking lost it dude XD
Btw, when is that X-mas video coming out?
Her former relationship with Adam really does seem to be rubbing off on her. Badly.
Boglenight sun did listen to her conversation with her father which was totally wrong even if he did it for the right reasons so like you said Blake had every right to be mad while she did not have to hit him again like you had said which makes her wrong for it but that does not mean she had abused him it means she over reacted
This isn't Killing Stalking, my friend of the African-American descent.
Watcher weatherly23
I know, it really is very unfortunate.
Zaierra Maynard
Zaierra, I'm just going to ask you to close your eyes and picture Blake being male and Sun being female, would you still say that isn't abusive?
Gotta say, Qrow got the short end of the stick with his semblance, superspeed, magic, dopplegangers, and he gets bad luck...

And guys!
He's going to flip next chapter.
I'm actually about to watch it now and I already know it has Taiyang & Yang in it!!!!!!!
MurderofBirds How can you watch it? are you a first member
I'm a Double Gold Member, but I still get access to the latest RWBY episodes before they're made available publicly on the RT site.
I'm with you on that Murder. It's a trope I've noticed in a lot of fantasy and sci-fi stories (which, honestly, I would say RWBY is a combination of both): when the mentor character shows up or jumps in to help the hero, the mentor has marked themselves for death. It doesn't always happen immediately, but they do always die after they've done so:
*Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope -- Obi-Wan sacrifices himself to Vader so Luke and the others can escape
*The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring -- Gandalf sacrifices himself to hold off the balrog so Frodo and the Fellowship can continue their quest (true, Gandalf comes back, but he does technically die first)
*Conquest of the Planet of the Apes -- Armando (Ricardo Montalban) kills himself in order to protect Ceasar
*Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix/ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince -- (This one I use as an example of the mentor still dying, but not immediately after showing up) Dumbledore shows up to save Harry from Voldemort during the battle of the Department of Mysteries and dies a year later (which also happens after saving Harry... again)
Theory time:
Ravens and crows are both considered birds of ill omen; maybe it's one of those "family semblance" things like the Weisses.
I highly doubt qrow will die his tail only scraped him If there even was any venom it would be minimal
Maybe Tyrians venom is special??
And how do you what is lethal dose of this venom? Even if we knew how much did he take we don't know what this ammount of poison will do.
plus, they wouldn't make him get poisoned in any capacity just to say,"Oh,it wasn't enough venom to kill"
in my opinion anyways
Possessive, Controlling, Deceptive, someone that only wants to gain power regardless of who stands in his ambition
it's probably why he didn't want rwby or anyone else to get involved in the fight
hi muderofbirds I'm so proud to be apart of you TH-cam family 😊
ruby is qrow's daughter, that's why he looked specifically at her when he saved her from tyrian, why he said family and looked directly at her and why raven turned her head to look at him in bird form.
I think that girl spy is a chameleon and maybe Illia well I don't want to waste money to watch it early if ep9 comes next week so I haven't seen it
Dude, wtf? spoilers much.
Boglenight the hair looks like it a chameleons tail
Boglenight also freelancer predicted it
+AtaliasRocks Shhhh..... Be quiet
AtaliasRocks the latest episode actually explained that
dude you have the same thought as me. When he was talking about being a bad luck charm and looked at Ruby when he said Family my mind went to "He was there when Summer died and blames himself for her death"
Last time I was this early... well I'm never this early, holy shit, 50 seconds ago and 92 views?? I'm proud of myself.
Dude, no need to thank US. We should be the ones who are thanking YOU for giving us such an amazing viewing experience and so much other amazing content. You're the one who does all the great stuff, we just flock in to watch. So thank YOU, Arnold. You bring us all great happiness, and we can't wait to see what else you have in store.
i swear you look buffer every video
just the look of ruby's face when she saw qrow's like that almost made me cry
early squad unite
SQUAD!!!
You're absolutely welcome! I'm so glad you enjoy the series and the awesome community.
Great reaction Arnold, I was just waiting for you to find out Qrows Semblance! it's also probably why he told Ruby to stay back during his fight with Tyrian
dude murder thank you so much for making content we as a family of fans can enjoy here's to 2017 blowing up bigger and better
one little thing that came to mind when he said bad luck was the bar tender in vol 3 who knocked the glass over by accident, maybe this was the first sign of his semblance
Ravens are good luck and in Greek mythology prophetic, Raven also seems to have some of those powers, your theory holds up.
I think Raven's semblance is the ability to see/predict the future correctly. Ravens are seen as omens (whether theyre good or bad depends on the culture) and Raven has correctly predicted the fall of Ozpin and Beacon and so on. If she does know where Spring is then I bet it would be because of her semblance.
i just realized Crow brought bad luck upon the bartender when we met him and the bartender broke the glass
I just found this channel after bingwatching RWBY .... I don't usualy don't watch this kind of channels but I like the your personality
I appreciate that the two brothers are effectively the Brothers Grimm.
All I could think was with the ending was "Fuck please don't let that be his last words"
With the explanation of the two brothers it's seems like they're the Xerneas and Yveltal of RWBY.
Another great video and we definitely learned a lot this episode and I'm curious on what your favorite scene was from this episode
My favorite scene was definitely between Blake and Ghira
MurderofBirds same and I can safely say I reacted the same way at the end.... freaking cliffhangers lol
It would also explain why the "gee darn it" bartender broke the glass
Dat foreshadow, tho.
suddenly that bar scene from vol 3 makes way more senses
