from a Monaghan man i will say 2 things
1 Kilkenny have definitely improved on last year they look alot sharper and organized in passing and catching
2 i am not sure it will be enough to beat Limerick i would say it's a 50/50 anyone could win on the day
verdict Limerick for the 4 in a row key reason will be Kilkenny's Over reliance on TJ Reid point being Limerick are far less relying on 1 single player i feel that Limerick have a better panel overall plus even more important is they are battle hardened espicaly with some really key games they have battled in this year
Eoin Cody and mullen can score especially cody known can but needs do it more but kk are not reliant this year but can be past but will need all forwards but wouldn't say over reliant as much as in past. Eoin Cody has stepped up especially

Hammy Dawson made a great point on Radio Eireann. Barry Heriques, a Kilkenny local Radio Sports Reporter and Himself were interviewed. Barry referred to the '73 and '74 Finals and of course brought the old Canard into play that 'we had a few injuries' in 73. Does he not realise, even at this late stage, that Limerick were missing their first choice Center Back (Jim O'Donnell) and First Choice Center Forward Mickey Graham on that long ago day.. I thought Hammy countered this beutifully by saying even though Sean Finn , Declan Hannon and Ritchie English were a loss if LK lose there 'will be no excuses' and that is always the way it should be

You can't say limerick are better than the kilkenny team goin for 5 in a row at one stage and in many other all ireland finals, if limerick win this Sunday and keep goin after that you could argue then

They been to 13 finals and won ALL of them.
Considering back then when kilkenny players mickey mouse teams in leinster and had a walkover basically into an All Ireland semi final every year with no injuries.
Limerick have nowadays to play the other best 6 teams in the country every year!
They haven't had their best players all together for the last two years. And still won the All irelands.
They are better by far than that kilkenny team.

The round robin was a money spin for the GAA, it plays into Limerick’s hands, they get so many games so there are no shocks anymore. The championship ending in July is a joke. Hopefully Kilkenny beat them.

For the good of hurling I hope Kilkenny win. Limerick all the players fancy themselves Hegarty and Cian Lynch. I miss the old days of the white sliotar and the old format.

Kilkenny have 36 all Irelands Limerick had only 11 before the final , how is it good for hurling that Kilkenny go to 37 all Ireland's , and in 16 years Kilkenny won 11 all Irelands, using your logic,,, was that good for hurling? And most of those all Irelands were cake walks as there was nothing in Leinster, KK had one or two good teams to beat to win the all Ireland, is that the old format you miss ?
