Good Morning thanks again for sharing . I am sitting in my boring office wishing I was outside . All that hard work for very little gain until you actually watch it grow etc you don't realise the work they do.
Thanks Joanne, yeah we will definitely see how much they earn soon. It also costs to get from the field to the home to dry, that costs quite a bit when you see how far it goes! Also, other costs I will go in to in a video...all comes out of the final return. Thanks for watching Joanne.
Congratulation Simon On a beautiful rice field season and yes it’s very tragic how little they receive from selling the rice. With all that work in time they put into it really sad.
Thanks Dan, yeah hopefully you all felt that way. It won't be long before they start the next season once this finishes. Should I cover that? Maybe some ideas of what you'd like to see this season that wasn't in the last one? Cheers Dan hope all is well in Ohio.
It's been very interesting to see these rice videos , presumably it's the middle men who make the money as always sitting on there Ass. Its a good job we do not grow rice here in the UK, it would never ever dry .
Yeah Michael, think there are a lot of middlemen...starting with the person who buys the rice from the farmers...someone buys it off her, and so on...🙄
Looks so different now it's that golden colour. Funny how the rain has squished it in blotches like that. Would have thought the whole field would get equal treatment? The lack of revenue is horrific as you outlined before. I buy 10kg every 6 months, costs me about £16 a bag. So 1.3 tonnes = 1320 kg = 132 bags of my rice = 66 years supply at a final purchase price of £2112. I know you weigh with husk on but I dunno how to adjust for that. I can't remember the exact amount you guys get for selling it last time but it was nowhere near £2112, think it was more like £100? It's extraordinary. Never seen Vietnamese rice here, that I've noticed. Always Thai or Indian. Where do you export to? Is it domestic or to USA or China/Japan etc?
Big exporters mate, rice has gone up recently so hopefully they get more. They will keep a load aside for use, so wont sell all. I believe a rice exporter down south in Vietnam has secured a huge deal with the South Koreans....Vietnam needs that kind of deal. I will get a price together once harvested and weighed in (actually already happened 😉) and make a video on it...bit of a surprise coming too. 😆
Thanks for watching guys, please remember to like & share our channel to give it the boost it so deserves 😉... bit.ly/VietnamVillageLifeTH-cam

Looking forward to seeing the harvest and the weigh in later on. Stay safe Simon.
Cheers Gary, yeah they will be good vids. You too mate.
